  • Good afternoon to all of our phenomenal followers - please take 5 minutes to check out this post! Benefiting the Hospital Hospitality House The Fancy Hat Party began in 1997 as a fundraising event and an opportunity to bring awareness, and new hats, to our “Hats Off to You” room - a room on the 7th floor of the Hospital Hospitality House (HHH) where chemo patients of all ages, in need of a soft hat, can select one from a wide variety of styles and colors, in a fun, garden-like setting. We started this first Hat Party with 40 women, dedicated to raising money to support the HHH – while having a little fun! Now, nearly 18 years later, we no longer bring pretty hats to the Party – we WEAR THEM!! Excitement is now building and volunteers are busily planning for the 18th annual Fancy Hat Party benefiting the Hospital Hospitality House. This year, our guest speaker will be Deborah Norville, anchor of the country’s most-watched syndicated news magazine Inside Edition and will take place on Thursday, April 30th, from 11:30 – 1:30, at the newly restored, Altria Theater – and we would like you to consider becoming a sponsor! Sponsoring our signature Fancy Hat Party means that families do not need to forego critical medical treatment because they cannot afford to stay in a full-price hotel room; families do not have to eat out of hospital vending machines because they cannot afford to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at a restaurant and families do not have to wash up in hospital sinks because they do not have access to shower or washer/dryer – and they've run out of clean clothes! “Without the HHH, I don’t know what we would have done. At the time in our lives when we needed your service, we could not even afford a cup of coffee.” (Leslie C., former guest) Thank you so much for your support of the Hospital Hospitality House and for considering our sponsorship request. If you have questions you're more than welcome to message me directly as well. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this! #RVA
