Kids are always welcome—as long as there are adults around too! Guests must be 21 years or older to check in. Be sure to bring ID in case we need to confirm.
Connecting Room Policy
Traveling together with family or friends? Our king loft rooms can be connected to a double queen loft room. Make sure to ask when you reserve or check in and we'll do our best to set you up, as availability permits.
We accept all major credit cards, but if plastic's not your thing, we're happy to accept cash too. You’ll need to pay the full room and tax charges up front, plus an additional deposit of $100 per room per night (which is refundable at check-out).
Hotel does offer a waitlist. Please contact the hotel directly to be placed on the waitlist. Guest should provide a phone number and will be called if a room becomes available.
Check-In & Checkout Policies
Early Arrival Policy
Check in at 3pm or later and your Aloft room will be ready and waiting. Eager to get in earlier? Just ask at the front desk, and we'll do our best to find you a room that's ready. No guarantees—it depends on the last guests and our housekeeping schedule—but if we can't squeeze you in early, we'll be happy to hang on to your luggage in the meantime.
Late Checkout Policy
Feel free to sleep in—check-out time isn’t until 12 noon. Looking to stick around a bit longer? Let us know and we’ll try to keep the room available for you. There’s no guarantee, but if we need you to clear the room, we can always stash your suitcase somewhere else until you’re ready to go.
Guests with special needs will feel right at home! We’re fully compliant with ADA regulations, including eight guest rooms with roll-in showers, bathroom grab bars, lower sinks and countertops, and hearing-impaired equipment available.
In the state of North Carolina, alcohol is for adults-only—so we only serve and sell to guests 21 and over. (Remember your ID!)
Package Handling Policy
We’re happy to accept and hold packages sent to you, free of charge—just pick them up at the front desk. You must have an active reservation with us in order for your package to be accepted.
Animals are family, too! That’s why Aloft Charlotte Ballantyne welcomes dogs up to 40 pounds.* Our pet-friendly arf(SM) program offers a special bed, bowl, and a doggie bag of woof-alicious treats and toys, all complimentary to use during your stay. Please make sure they’re on their best behavior—we don’t want to charge you extra for housekeeping!
*If your dog weighs more than 40 pounds or you have any pet that is not a dog, you must contact the hotel directly and if approved, you will be subject to a one time 100 USD non-refundable pet fee. All guests with pets must sign a pet waiver at check-in. Please contact the hotel directly for any questions you may have in regards to our pet policy.
Health & Well-Being Policies
Aaahhh…breathe easy! We're a 100% smoke-free environment. There is a $500 fee for smoking in your room or anywhere inside the hotel.
Check Cashing Policy
We’re happy to cash personal checks for Starwood Preferred Guests only, up to $100 per night for a maximum of $300 per stay.
EMV/Chip & PIN Credit Card Policy
Please be aware this hotel is EMV/Chip & PIN ready and your credit card’s PIN may be necessary for you to check-in to the hotel. If you are not aware of the PIN for your chip credit card, or you are unsure if your card requires a PIN, please contact the financial institution that issued your credit card for clarity and to secure your PIN.
Credit/Debit Card Policy
Debit and Credit cards will be authorized at check-in for the amount of your stay, plus an amount to cover incidentals. The authorization will hold the funds until check out, at which time the amount actually incurred during the stay will be charged. Authorized amounts may take up to 30 days after departure to be released by your bank or financial institution and the hotel will not be responsible for any resulting fees or charges.
