Rated 5 out of 5 by I can always count on this hotel I have stayed at the Aloft in Philly alone and with my husband the night before an early flight. It is 5 minutes from most of the airport parking facilities on Essington. I also stayed at the Aloft during hurricane Sandy with my husband and my dog. The staff was so comforting and understanding during that time!! June 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Room smelled of smoke/Front desk agent lack of customer service/No sleep I will never again stay at the Aloft Phila Apt location, absolute worst experience, upon arrival appeared I was bothering front desk (FD) agent, her demeanor & response made it seem as though I was not a welcome guest; entry gate caught me off guard, called earlier 2 inquiry about parking, no mention of gate;turned around, called FD 2 inquire if this actual entry into hotel. Original room smelled of smoke, went down 2 FD, agent just gave me another room/key & no offer of apology; carpet stains all over floor; room stuffy;clock ticked(annoying);beds very un- comfortable-did not rest well at all-in area 4 funeral. Rated 2 out of 5 by A bit disappointed US Air put me up in PHLY overnight and I chose Aloft, having stayed prior at all the other Starwood brands. The lobby seemed clever, but once upstairs the concept has a cheap feel to it. I liked the design in a way but the implementation seems cheap. The first room I was given the linen was not changed and there was hair on the bed. In the second room the tile in the bathroom had mildewed and it just looked like it was a old shower in old hotel rebranded, which I understand this one was built from scratch. I would not be likely to stay at this hotel again. January 25, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great First Time Visit I appreciate the opportunity to stay at your location. From start to finish the staff people in all areas were very pleasant and given to hospitality on our needs and did a great job of follow-up to our questions. We enjoyed the ambiance of your Hotel lobby as well as the room. I would highly recommend this location for a stay if you are visiting the Philadelphia area. This was our first stay in an Aloft Hotel , and gladly the first of many more. June 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Incredible customer service., I called her from PHL airport at 7am and had a very good response and a day rate, which was exactly what I needed between flights. The staff could not have been nicer and more professional! Angel checked me in and she and her colleagues were all absolutely lovely. I was exhausted and perhaps not at my most polite but they were incredibly welcoming and courteous, i truly enjoyed mu stay here and will select this hotel over Center City hotels in the future. This hotel was a true example of how the telephone and front desk people can make an excellent guest experience. Kudos to them! June 1, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Small things make the whole difference.... Bad Experience I like the ALoft concept, but this was a string of unacceptable conditions. 1. $7 for parking... explained by the desk agent as acceptable because they have low rates. 2. Internet speed was slower than slow. Couldn't download average sized files or remote connect to remote server. 3. Phone battery started to beep at 4am. 4. Shower water temp was either freezing or scalding....one slight setting was acceptable for humans 5. Digital tv had no service from 6:30a - 8am 6. Coffee maker wasn't assembled properly by the maid and it poured everywhere but the cup. 7. Ceiling in the bathroom had large curls of paints and was in dis-repair. Stopped by the front desk in the morning to make my comments in person, but the staff was too busy chatting amongst themselves...so didn't bother. It would have also been nice if I was told that the room key is required to leave the parking lot. All in All, not a good experience. March 10, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just when I thought I couldn't love the Aloft Hotels anymore... I've been a repeat customer at several Aloft locations over the past few years. If I can stay at an Aloft, whether it's business or pleasure, I do. My recent stay at your Philadelphia Airport location not only met but exceeded my expectations in the form of customer service and overall experience. I called ahead to notify the hotel I would be checking in lat due to flight delays, and once I gave my name I was greeted with a little extra excitement/acknowledgement and told it wasn't a problem and they looked forward to seeing me soon. Once I finally arrived at the hotel at 1am (7 hours later than expected) I was again warmly greeted, this time by Kiona (not sure of spelling) at the front desk. Despite the late hour, I found the lounge to be full of a small group of people and the bar still open (gratefully, as I was eager for a glass of red wine). I found Kiona to be funny and energetic, and once I told her my name, she smiled wide and let me know "there's a little something special in your room for you". Excitedly, I headed up to my room and found my "Special Request" I'd noted when booking had been fulfilled. I entered in a Special Request on a whim and admittedly it was very silly, but it's just nice to know that Aloft employees take pride in customer service and making their patrons feel welcomed. I look forward to my next visit - thanks to the great Aloft staff, PHL location specifically! Sincerely, A Very Happy Customer :) May 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Modern chic with outstanding service I've stayed at Aloft hotels in California before but this was my first time at the Aloft - Philadelphia Airport location. I had a WONDERFUL time at the Philly Aloft. The customer service was excellent and I wanted to specifically thank Lindsay, the front desk staff member. She was extremely courteous but more important she was vivacious , she really enjoyed her job and it showed. She helped answer my questions about parking, the shuttle, the amenities and the Starwood Preferred Guest rewards program. I can't thank Lindsay enough for making my trip to Philly a success. The hotel was clean and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and I will continue to stay at the Starwood family hotels. September 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by We Love Aloft This is our perhaps 5th stay at this hotel, The Aloft? It has that little edge to it that peps you up a little and thankfully since the original concept was rolled out, the "Aloha" bit has been dropped. Little touches such as the Bliss Spa products and King beds are nice. We stay at this one to catch early flights as we do not live very close to the airport, or stay here if we get in very late. Never disappointed, very good value pricing unless a convention in town bleeds down to the airport for rooms. I wish there were more Alofts. April 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome hotel The hotel was very clean and I will stay here again and will recommend this to friends. May 6, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by It was a nightmare The staff was lazy. No one was at the front desk when i walked in. After i finally was checked in my toilet, a sink were draing slow and were dirity. Lets not talk about the shower because it was filithy. This is the second time i stayed here and its the last. July 22, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointing This was our first stay at an Aloft hotel and it will likely be our last. The room we were in was gross (tile grout as coming apart in several places, and was haphazardly patched in others with mildew all around, a ceiling patch above the toilet was weeping spackle residue down the wall), and loud - between room doors that *loudly* slam shut and a connecting room door that was so thin we were part of the dance party next door to us against our wishes. We notified the front desk four times (twice in person, twice by phone) about the noise issue with our neighbors and while we were assured security was sent up, the problem was never resolved resulting in the worst hotel stay I have ever had. Rated 2 out of 5 by Rooms in drastic need of upgrade The Philadelphia Airport Aloft is a very convenient hotel for business travelers. The overnight parking is an attraction. However, the rooms have not been refurbished probably since the hotel became an Aloft which has to be 10 years ago. The grout in the tile in the bathrooms is filthy and the whole room has a musty smell that makes it difficult to breath, let alone sleep. I'm a regular business traveler and this is one of the worst hotels I have stayed at in many years. May 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for the business traveler I stayed at the Aloft one night in order to be close to the airport for an early morning flight. This is almost perfect for the business traveler. The room had all the essentials - high speed internet, comfortable bed, really nice bathroom area with a tiled, stall shower. And it was very quiet. My one suggestion would be to have a few more food options at the bar. There are only a few options and they are all appetizer-type dishes. Other than that, the stay was perfect. March 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Grateful I left my engagement ring in my hotel room and did not call to have it located until 3 hours after I left the hotel. I am extremely grateful to the staff at Aloft that they located my ring when my room had been cleaned that morning. They kept the ring safe over the weekend and mailed it to me as requested. I am forever grateful! It is heart warming to know that their are good and honest people in this world. I have not been as lucky in the past when dealing with other hotel chains. The Aloft staff overall were extremely friendly and helfpul. Thank you! March 20, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by great service! great location and great service as always from Aloft May 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by A problem every time I stay here Staff was great. Nice hotel; just like all the others. On the downside: Someone had just "gone number 2" in my room. I noticed the strong odor immediately and it permeated the room. It was awful and I almost gagged. I checked in around 5pm. Not sure how this could have happened so late in the day. No problem switching to another room, but this was kind of a bummer. Also, when the AC came on in my new room, there was a loud clicking every 10 seconds or so that I couldn't sleep with, so I turned it off. That's all. January 12, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Recent stay I travel frequently 10x per month. i recently stayed here as a first time starwood customer. the facility is nice, different decor. However I was disappoineted in the cleanliness. Empty coke bottle on side of bed upon arrival. Room was obviously not vaccuumed. Disappointed in the lack of cleanliness! May 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Starwoods Experience Truly unhappy with my overnight stay at the aloft Hotel in PHL airport. Upon arriving I found the staff to be "cold" and "disinterested" in accommodating me and my family. First, the room was a lot smaller than described by your reservations agent. In the room, the telephone and the heat did not work. Tried to called reception but the phone did not work. Walked to reception and alerted them I had a room with no heat and no phone. They promised to send someone up to fix both issues and no one arrived. My wife, my 5 year old son and I had to spend the night snuggled-up together to stay warm until the morning. In the morning we found the coffee machine to have mold on it...like it was never cleaned before. Worse hotel experience in my life. Will never stay again nor recommend this hotel. January 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by No risk in staying at this hotel! If you have an option to stay at the Philly airport, I suggest you look at the aLoft. March 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Angel Woodward is the BEST! I stay at a Starwood hotel weekly and continue to come to the ALoft Hotel in Philadelphia airport for one reason and one reason alone...Angel Woodward. She has been the most accommodating person I have encountered in the Starwood system and she continues to exceed my expectations every visit. May 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by pleasant surprise A family member recommended the hotel. It was definitely value for money. The employees were excellent. The service also. We like the modernistic vibe of the hotel, the décor, etc. We would definitely stay in Aloft Hotels again, worldwide. The biggest problem at the Philadelphia hotel is the automatic parking gate at the exit. That needs a LOT of work. May 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Aloft Philly Airport What an impression the lobby made when I arrived. The music and energy was great. Rooms are small but hip. Very clean. Staff was ok, but nothing special. Google maps listing was all screwed up and my Google Nav sent me on a major wild goose chase through a scary neighborhood including a detour around a murder scene. Called the staff when lost and they blamed it on new property and were not apologetic. Email confirmation should have warned of the maps issue. May 13, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Property is worn, dirty, beat up and lacks routine maintenance. I was very disapponted with the Philly ALoft. I have stayed at others but will never to back to Philly location. Carpet badlly stained, holes in walls, could not control AC, shower wall was nasty from leak. May 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Staff and Hotel This location of the Aloft made our stay amazing... We come to Philly quite often to visit family, and we are so excited to have a place to call home now while in town. Nora and Danielle at the front desk were the best! We had some last min changes, but these ladies made the experience notable. Thanks for showing that good customer service is still at the top of the list. November 12, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by A Disappointment I chose this hotel for my birthday weekend because it looked great. It looked modern, clean, hip, and just overall like a good hotel. However, we experienced lots of problems that are easily fixable: -Maitanence problems in our room (peeled paint, Sink and shower didn't drain properly) -Floors were dirty in all common spaces (clumps of hair and trash in the corners) -Bathroom had lots of soap scum and calcium buildup. The cleaning protocols seemed too lax. -Bed was frumpy and very uncomfortable -Floors were not clean in the room. There were skittles and dimes under the couch -We had major noise problems. Each night of our stay people ran up and down the halls talking very loudly and slamming doors. When we complained to the front desk, there response was "we'll send someone up" and they hung up. They did send security up, but then 30 minutes later (1:30am at this point) the noise began again. March 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Access to the Airport If you are flying out of Philly, this is a great choice. They have a shuttle every 20 minutes and it is very close. The hotel is new and comfortable. Two things I did not like. They do not provide an Iron --tough for the traveler who does not want to be wrinkled. I also would not recommend for an extended stay as space is limited and the closet is quite small. October 22, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by We Love Aloft Philadelphia ALL staff - from front desk (who remembers us every time we visit - we visit 2 times per year), to the housekeeping and custodial staff - is just terrific. We love the decor, the rooms, and the fact that such an upscale hotel can be so pet and kid friendly and still retain that upscale feel. It truly is our home away from home. Wish we could visit even more! November 8, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by WONDERFUL I've been traveling out to Camden NJ every week for the past month or so. I make it a point to stay at the Philadelphia Airport ALOFT the night before flying back home. Easy and fast access to the airport. The best thing about this hotel is the Front Desk staff. They are very professional, informative, and friendly. I look forward to my next stay. March 23, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Hotel is adaquate I prefer the Mt Laurel, NJ Aloft to the Philly Airport aloft. The staff is not as friendly as Mt Laurel. It is very close to the airport as well as the Stadiums and areas. This Aloft charges $12 for parking. The gate to get out doesn't usually work with your hotel room key as it should. May 7, 2014
