Although I have frequented the XXYZ bar several times, this was the first time I have ever stayed overnight at the hotel.
The room was functional and had plenty of room for all my electronics and my photography gear.
I want to personally thank Marvin and Nate the Bartender for going above and beyond my expectations in my first stay.

I've stayed here twice and the first time was excellent. I have a few issues the second stay with a broken thermostat in my room and a bathroom door that would not stay closed, but the front desk quickly switched me to another room so all was well. Decent pricing, room is contemporary, clean, and overall comfortable. The bar in the lobby is a nice touch. Would stay here again.

I had an amazing stay at your hotel last night. Keyri Sierra did an amazing job at meeting and exceeding my expectations, she went out of her way to make sure I had a great stay. She is very good at her job and I want give her some recognition. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and I loved the room. I will recommend this hotel to all of my friends.

to sum it all up the hotel was dirty big trash bag full of trash in the hallway on the 3rd floor all the carpets needed to be vacuumed only stayed cause i checked in so late and needed a room would never stay again didnt report because i had to rush for a appt.

I am not a fan of National Harbor. If I have to stay there, then this is place. Very hip, cool and different. Every single staff member was wonderful.

When I first walked into the hotel I knew it wasn't going to be my cup of tea. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. The first thing we encountered was that the chlorine levels in the pool made it intolerable to swim. It burned your eyes standing outside the door to the pool. Next we had an issue with the shower only having really cold or scalding water. The staff got engineering there quickly and got it fixed within a couple of hours.
The biggest thing for me was the in room bathroom. The door had to be slid open and shut and ours wouldn't close all the way and was very heavy. When you are a family with kids this isn't a great option. It also didn't have a bathtub which was a pain because my younger one hates showers.

I have stayed at the Aloft on many occasions due to our corporate account. I however would've preferred another on-site hotel due to issues with previous stays, and had no intentions of promoting the hotel to friends, families or business associates.
I'm elated to say that this last stay was by far the BEST I've EVER experienced, from the greeting received when I arrived from Marvin, to walking into my room to a very pleasant scent, the pleasant Aloft hotel musical/marketing piece greeting me on the TV, the warm temperature after being outside on one of the coldest days ever experienced in this area, and the cleanliness of the room and the fact that everything in the room worked put me over the edge, the blinds, the remote, the lights etc.
Thank you for such a wonderful experience and I look forward to staying with you again in the near future and will pass the word along to friends and family!

I've never stayed at a hotel that meet every one of my expectations. From making sure my discount was applied correctly. The service was great. I was meet with a great smile. All the amenities were explained to me in great detail. I love the entire atmosphere of the hotel and room. It wasn't teh 5 star $1000 a nite experience but I loved every bit of it. The staff the setting, the decor was exactly what I needed. I would highly recommend the hotel and I will go back. Even like the fact that I could just hang out in the lounge area with a bar right at my fingertips and not have to go anywhere if I didnt want.

After traveling abroad staying at Aloft gave us a relaxing stay back in USA.
Mimi and her staff made us feel welcome during our stay.

(The conference center was nearby, not on-site.) Aloft definitely made an impression on me. Most hotels to me are just a bed, a closet, a desk and a chair. Aloft (National Harbor, DC/MD) has a theme of clean, colorful straight lines and simplicity. The 6th floor room I had looked out at the Wilson Bridge and into Alexandria. (A room on a lower floor or facing the opposite direction might not have been able to see the water.) The staff was very helpful with any concern that I had (e.g. a lamp was replaced the day it was reported, with an immediate offer of an alternative room). The off-season price was competitive. I will definitely take note on future trips to see whether an Aloft is in the area.

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. this is our second time . When we got married we stayed at the hotel . the staff is excellent . they met all our needs and more . we love the Aloft hotel.
We will e staying at the Aloft in May 2014. At the Philadelphia Airport .

I stayed in this hotel 2 years ago and was looking forward to staying in it again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I ended up traveling alone instead of with a friend, and when I checked in, the front desk employee asked me if I wanted to upgrade to a room with a view of the harbor, because one was available. I did and the view was fabulous. The hotel is in a great location, and I look forward staying there in the future.

My wife and I had a rare overnight fun trip to National Harbor planned, and lucked into finding the Aloft Hotel there. There were lots of things we enjoyed about our stay. The room was great, comfortable, with a great view. But the highlight was the genuine friendliness and accomodation provided by the front desk staffperson who we think was named Marvin. He treated us great throughout our brief stay, and even moved us up to the top floor for a better view after we had already checked in. It is always amazing how much a smile and greeting make a difference.

I'm a frequent traveler and had just left the National Harbor area two weeks prior to staying at the Aloft National Harbor. The staff was very rude and not willing to assist at all. The parking was not convenient and the room was not what I expected. I called the front desk for directions and was insulted and left on hold for 10 minutes. I finally gave up and received information and assistance from another surrounding hotel (where I stayed two weeks prior on a business trip). I plan on visiting the National Harbor again because the location is amazing and the surrounding stores and restaturants are excellent. I will not stay at the Aloft again. So Disappointed!!

I must admit I'm a hotel snob! I stayed here for a weekend getaway with my fiancé' (we live 15 mins away in Fairfax, VA). We do this occasionally and the last time we stayed at the Gaylord. I am not impressed by the National Harbor hotels. I am a fan of the W perimeter and Uptown. But Aloft does the Starwood brand no justice. Its "cheesy" to say the least! The rooms were petite, and I felt like I was sleeping in my 3 year olds room it was so compact. The décor was BLAH at best. Typical for the modern hotels. White bedding with colorful accents. I felt like it was an upgraded DORM ROOM! Katrina at the front desk was very nice and professional. When our first room was below standards she switched it immediately without any problems. So the staff was great! Save your money. This hotel has solidified we are better sleeping at home and the National Harbor is not a good staycay!
The area offers great shopping and restaurants galore. The restaurants are ok! I am a foodie and I'm Trinidadian and Dominican so I love spices. But everyone is different, I just thought they were overpriced for the quality.

I attended Delta Days at the Nation's Capitol and reserved a room at the Aloft. The price of the room was very reasonable and had great amenities such as free internet, free bottled water, a refrigerator, oversized shower with luxurious body wash and shampoo, and what a beautiful view!! The bed was very confortable and everything that I needed was in the room. I was so busy that I didn't get to enjoy breakfast, the exercise room, pool or bar. Finally, while waiting on my ride, did I get to relax in the lounge area. I can't wait to come back in the Spring to enjoy the outdoor areas.

Upon our arrival there was dog poo at elevator on the first floor. Once we checked in we were told there was no breakfast included, but it was at the time the reservation was made.There was no complimentary anything for the amount of time we stayed.The TV kept loosing it's signal, on the second day our room was not cleaned until 5pm. The housekeeping staff did not understand much English. Our third day we did not get clean towels until 6:30pm after numerous request.The best part of the stay was the bartender.Disappointed in MD.

One huge problem. The people staying in the room next to us from 12:00 to 3:00 AM were havcing a party and kept us up all night. They were talking loudly, high pitched voices and were probably drinking and didn't think about the other people in the adjoining room. I was going to call the front desk, but didnt' want the people knowing who made the call. My daughter and I were up most of the night. This was not the fault of the hotel,, but due to the people in the nextt room. Next time I stay there I will ask for a room that has an elderly couple staying next door.

This was my first stay at an Aloft hotel and probably my last. The room was very small, too small actually. The carpet and chair both had stains. The water pressure in the shower was too low. A guest had to use two elevators to reach their room from the street level. The staff at check in totally disregarded the requests of our group to have rooms on the same floor.
On the bright side, the bed was fairly comfortable. The air conditioner worked well and was quiet. The location of the hotel was good also.
But the overall experience was very disappointing.

I checked in early at about 9 am and no rooms were available so about 11 am while at the conference I received a personal phone call that my room was ready and my bags were stored for safe-keeping. When I came back for lunch time I was blown away how amazing the room was. For checking in 6 hours early this hotel's staff went above and beyond!
Definitely ask for the river view if available. Made a "just-ok" morning really great!
The lounge area was very hip and very happening. If you're into modern, sleek, and younger professional crowd then this lounge would be a good fit. Pool table was a great addition!
I was exhausted from work so I did not get a chance to hit the fitness facility/pool but will definitely check it out next time I stay there!

None of the staff had a clue about anything locally. We asked about a restaurant on the water, and we were told to go to three places not only NOT on the water, but they were farther away than the hotel itself. Then one of the staff was overhead cursing by several guests which was quite unsavory. They also seemed so put out by any requests. Additionally, we were part of a wedding party, and the hotel failed to give ANYONE their welcome bags the groom had specifically worked out with the manager to deliver when the guests checked in.

As a General Manager of one of your locations, I was expecting just a little empathy from the situation. What I received was just the opposite. He was short, rude and very unprofessional. He stated that it would be taken care of I would be emailed a folio. Once again days passed and NOTHING. If this is the leadership and example that is set by the general manager, your team is in trouble!
I then called the billing department and finally received everything needed.
This situation should not have been this challenging! A little follow-up and simple customer service on every level would have been great.

I have stayed at many SPG hotels and was grossly disappointed with this hotel in the heart of beautiful national harbor maryland. The noise levels in the lobby, The traffic throughout the hotel and lobby, the cleanliness of the halls and common areas (or lack thereof) was unsettling in a hotel with such potential for excellence. The decor of the hotel and rooms is very nice so the entire staff needs to "buy into" that presentation and take this hotel to a higher level of excellence. Needs work. I would not stay here again...

We arrived at midnight wanting a shower and bed. There was one hand towel in the entire unit. There was no coffee for the coffee maker. The next morning we went down to order breakfast. The lady took our order and told us it would be about five minutes. Upon returning to pick up our sandwiches she told us she had been talking to a friend and forgot our order. Took another 15 minutes to get our food. Overall terrible service. We have stayed at other aloft hotels and had great service. Will not stay at national harbor again. Need staff that care.

I chose this hotel because I had never been to the National Harbor, and wanted to visit for my Birthday. The area was perfect for shopping, eating and relaxing. I liked this hotel the most for it's beautiful view of the Harbor, and the upbeat atmosphere. The room was very clean, and we appreciated the small fridge that was in the room, and the complimentary bottled water provided every day. The staff was extremely professional, and helpful. All of our needs were met. I only had one complaint, and that was the sheets on the bed. They were very stiff and did not feel soft to the skin, nor did they fit the bed. Every morning the sheets would have come loose from the bed, and we were on the mattress. I was told that new sheets had been ordered for al the rooms, so I guess that small inconvenience will be fixed! I felt that the drinks at the XYZ bar were overpriced, but it is what it is. Overall a great experience!
