Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel has great location but staff needs more training The hotel looks great, great location, clean comfortable rooms. However what would have been an excellent stay turned bad when cleaning staff threw away some of our clothes. These where not dirty tatter clothes, but expensive jeans and a buttoned up shirt. The evening manager kept putting blame back on us and offered us no recourse outside of additional hotel points. All we wanted was out clothes. He offered to have a complete search in the morning and offered to call us with the results. It's been three days and we still have not been called. This has never happened before and we will not go back due to the incompetence of the staff. December 11, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Quick stop before early flight Wish we were here longer. Even with our short turn around (5p check in 4a check out) we were able to relax, enjoy the pool table and games in the lounge, print boarding passes, and get ready for early departure. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Hotel Made a reservation at aLoft without any research and have no regrets. This hotel was extremely clean and well maintained; interaction with staff was all positive and they were exceptionally friendly and helpful; pool was well maintained, clean, ample towels and child friendly; our room was quiet and the refrigerator worked great; and the lobby had board games at different areas as well as a pool table and a live DJ. At the last minute we decided to take our dog, this hotel is very dog friendly providing a dog bed, dog treats and dog litter bags....this is a first for our family and gets two thumbs up. Around 11 p.m. we had to request maintenance due to a window shade not closing and in less than five minutes, we had a friendly maintenance person fixing the blind and we didn't feel like we were a bother. Because I didn't research the hotel I didn't realize there was minimal access to food but that is my fault. The lobby did have some "snack" type food items you could purchase. The hotel provides a free airport shuttle every 15-20 minutes and we took advantage of this to go to the airport for dinner. It was very easy to get back and forth to the airport using the shuttle. We would stay here again without any hesitation and have already recommended this hotel to family and friends. If planning a trip to San Francisco, this hotel is a much better choice than staying in the city and it is only a 20 minute easy drive to San Francisco. July 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice hotel I only stayed one night at Aloft and checked in late at that, so I did not use any of the amenities (bar, etc.). However, my room was nice. Two problems: 1. I couldn't get my blinds to lower, and 2. the music playing in the elevator and especially in the lobby is annoying. August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice Hotel Stayed overnight in SFO for concert. Hotel is very close to SFO Airport and rooms were nice and spacious. Staff provided exceptional customer service and valet parking was a plus. Overall, great stay! August 4, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by One flaw ruined it all I overnighted here prior to flying overseas and had some urgent business to attend to. But I couldn't get any work done because I could not VPN into my employer's intranet and e-mail with the hotel's wireless system. I didn't have any trouble at several hotels on this trip. I left the hotel to use the SFO's wireless system, and everything worked fine there. To add insult to injury, a staff member at the front desk said many other people had this problem. Everything else about the hotel was very nice! July 29, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Accomodations Great- Amenities not so great I chose this hotel for proximity to SFO with an early flight to catch. Had I dropped my rental and used the shuttle it would have been fine. Since I wanted to leave the facility for dinner, I kept my car and this was a sore point. When you enter, signs tell you parking is $14- not too ridiculous, but at the desk you learn it is really 20 for guests, the $14 is for the park and fly lot they are running. And not only do you pay a premium to park, after dinner I found no spaces other than at the farthest reaches of the lot near no hotel entrance. I am competing for a space with people leaving their cars for days. Very inconvenient and a total rip off. April 22, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent hotel Would like to mention about front desk folks i.e Lcuevas & Chris particularly. Both have an absolute professional mannerism. Nice and pleasant guys. Whenever have any query/request, they both are really helpful in every-way. So if We have any queries we always look for either Chris or Lcuevas on the desk. The guys doing the job wel done. Rated 4 out of 5 by Aloft as you would expect, missed on details Aloft hotels are incredibly consistent, which means right off the bat, they get 80% right (assuming you like clean, modern rooms at a reasonable price). That leaves the remaining 20% dependent on the details. The staff at check-in is friendly and get the job done, no complaints there. Gym and pool are perfect for a quick work out. What didn't work out this visit: 30 minute wait at the airport, room stocked with a half used bottle of lotion and the previous guest's workout towel in the corner of the room. In summary, the hotel is exactly what you expect from Aloft, but some of the details need to be ironed out. January 17, 2014

Rated 1 out of 5 by You can get locked out of your room and requests for a refund are ignored. I'm still waiting to hear if I'm going to get a refund or if they are only going to give me Starwood points so I can stay at another questionable Starwood property. I stayed at the Aloft for a single night because I was attending meetings at the adjacent Westin, which has common ownership with the Aloft. Around 6:15 am on Sunday I went down to grab an early breakfast but it didn't start until 7:00. I went back up to my room but the door key wouldn't work. They have fancy electronic locks where you just wave the card in front of the lock to open the door. I got another key from the front desk but it didn't work either, nor did the security officer's key. They told me that the battery was dead and that they could not open the door until the maintenance man came in at 8:00. Meanwhile, all my stuff was in there including my laptop which I was using at the time. They offered me another room, though that wasn't of much use if I couldn't get to my stuff, and called the maintenance man to ask him to come in a little early. I told them I had an 8:00 meeting at the Westin and would at least not have to wear the clothes I slept in for that meeting. So at 7:00 I ordered breakfast. It's a weird setup where you tell the front desk staff what you want, they enter it in the computer, and then one of them goes back and makes it. As it turns out the oven was broken and they told me it would take an extra 20 minutes because they had to use the bar kitchen. They offered me a $20 credit on my bill, which I mulled over, but by 7:55 rolled around they still couldn't let me in my room. I told the woman at the front desk that, considering the circumstances, I thought that they should comp the room. She said she would ask the manager. I went to the meeting at the Westin and apologized for my appearance while warning people about staying at the Aloft. During the meeting I got an email from the manager, Allen, who offered not to comp the room but to give me 10,000 Starwood points. He also extended my checkout to 4:00, which I did appreciate. That afternoon I emailed him back saying that the points were of little use to me and that I did want the room comped. For me, being locked out of my room until after my meeting was an inconvenience and a professional embarrassment. But what if I had an early flight? Or if I had vital medication in the room? The Aloft has no way to change a battery during off hours. Let me repeat that--if the battery dies in the middle of the night there is no way for them to let them back into your room. No one is trained to replace them. One of the front desk staff said that batteries had gone out before, but this was the first time this had happened when the maintenance man wasn't around. That right there should have been a message to the management that it could also happen the other 128 hours of the week. The Aloft should train one of their staff or one of the Westin staff on how to change the battery. Until they do this I highly recommend that you do not stay at the Aloft SFO. November 25, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5 by Keeps you gueesing I stayed one night and had a few things that made me frustrated. Turning the lights on and off in the entire room is an easy thing when you first walk in with the switch by the door, But forget about turning some lights off and keeping some on. the room is either fully light of lights out....or they need to provide a handbook on how the lights work.... My room faced the runway, and with the tv on you don't notice the noise, but all night long I heard engines revving while taxing the runway until takeoff. The hotel is really nice, and i give it tho them for keeping it tidy. January 27, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by All Good...But Poor WiFi The facility is great. It's new, in good shape and clean. But I have to get work done while I'm in a hotel. The Wifi connection was poor on my previous trip when I spent over a week there. I was hoping it was just a poor room location or bad luck, but this trip it is just as slow. So I can recommend the room to those who don't need good internet speeds, but if you're going to try and work then you'll need to get your own hotspot. By the way, my personal hotspot on my phone was MUCH faster and the only way I got anything done. And forget about trying to stream any video.... July 7, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Better option next door During my two day stay, the staff seemed indifferent as to whether I was there or not. Service at the restaurant/lounge was particularly bad. Worst so-called beef sliders I have ever had. Dog food comes to mind. December 13, 2013
