We were thoroughly impressed at how pet friendly this hotel was. Dog bowls and a dog bed are already in the room when you arrive (if you let them know you're bringing a pet). Our black lab also enjoyed the many wooded trails directly in back of the hotel (by the golf course). The staff were super friendly too, and the modern decor and features were outstanding.

I didn't know whether it was Aloft training or southern hospitality but the staff members at the hotel were so friendly, uber-competent and always ready to help. I am a frequent traveler, just in CH for homecoming. These guys were very impressive by any standard. Good little gym, coffee in the room, comfy beds, and size of room also contributed to a great stay.

Last minute reservations were made for a Saturday - Monday stay, staff was extremely friendly and helpful, room was perfect - very comfortable and very clean - although we did ask for an oversized shower however didn't get it (not a big deal) . Weekend was quiet so we had the bar and pool table to ourselves which was great. They also provide Bliss products :)

Hard to beat the location when visiting UNC Chapel Hill. Overall the hotel is clean, very modern and close to good restaurants and services. I'd suggest the self-park option as the valet service appeared a little slow and chaotic at times. The one big negative for me was the beds - way too hard, platform like foundations and no padding or pillow top surface.

This is a typical Aloft. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. The furniture is stark and uncomfortable, including the bed and pillows. There is only one chair in the room and it is a desk chair. There is a couch type thing with no back but it is directly under the TV so not much use for watching a show or sporting event. Over all okay for a night..

Before this stay I tried to avoid Aloft the decor seemed to busy for my taste and I would prefer something plain, but I needed to be near UNC and I had to have certain people near there at specific times. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and convenient it was. Every time I see the patients I had stay there they mention how great the Hotel was.

My first time staying at this hotel, and I really loved it. The staff was very professional and accommodating. My room was very clean, modern and the bed was so comfortable. Hot/cold breakfast you can purchase in the lobby, plenty of seating, and toiletries also available for purchase. Bonus free shuttle service is a big plus. Plan to stay here again.

My kids thought the hotel was very hip and they were glad to stay there. My husband and I enjoyed all the colorful and modern design touches. Our puppy appreciated the comfy bed and food/water bowl. Nice area surrounding the hotel as well. There is a small complex with restaurants and stores right next door. It is also very close to the Chapel Hill campus.

Loved the modern architecture and ease of check-in (who needs a hotel desk? Seriously the kiosk was accessible and the staff very, very friendly and helpful). Our family also liked the availability of food and snacks, the Bliss products in the room, and the POOL. Very refreshing after a long car trip!
Bring earplugs for possible flight noise.

The hotel staff is very laid back, even the bartenders which sometimes is unusual. Typical bartenders tend to interact more without prompting but here once you strike up a conversation, they interact with you more. This is a great location with several great restuarants within a short walk. Greatest valet staff ever! Wish the fireplace had been working.

Everything you need in a nice ultramodern hotel conveniently located. Extra towel, complimentary water, many electrical outlets, alarm clock, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful and there were many varied food items for purchase, including delicious muffins made at the hotel. A pool table was a big plus for us. I would definitely stay here again.

I liked the modern look, but you can't judge a book by it's cover they say...
The bed was WAY too firm, pillows too big, and my neck and shoulders ached in the morning. Also, pretty lame that the continental breakfast isn't free. So many other hotels offer this as a basic complimentary things.
Don't think I'd return.

THe Aloft Chapel HIll is a nice hotel with a convenient location just fve minutes from the highway and UNC-Chapel Hill. A nice feature is that there is a beautiful running trail through a forest preserve just a 1/2 block away. I will definetly stay here again.

Have stayed here a number of times and the hotel is great for the money. However, this stay was extremely noisy as there was a UNC game and it seems like lots of college age people stay here. They were coming in an out of the rooms all night long slamming doors etc. Hotel is a bit on the cheap end so it is easy to hear in the halls.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times and have had good stays, however, this time was not the case. I noticed my toilet , after flushing made an odd noise and then the water drained out. This was in the evening when I was ready for bed so decided to call in the am for maintenance to fix. I called at 7am to report to Eli. I explained the toilet was not flushing and was quite gross. His reply was that no one was there to fix until 9am but I could come down and get moved to another room. I explained that this was not convenient for me, I was not dressed, would have to repack my items etc and asked if they could please bring me key to a new room up to me. He said he was too busy. Upon checkout there was a young woman who assisted, when asked about my stay I explained to her the situation, when then she asked was that all? Didn't offer anything off my bill, nothing to remedy the situation which left me with a very negative taste about this starwood property.

The commendations are great, the beds are comfortable. The hotel has excellent work out room and the pool is indoors. There is a bar and lounge area that is welcoming. A great stay for the family. The front desk is very professional and friendly. The hotel also; has valet parking which is very convenient.

I enjoyed my stay at Aloft. The design of the hotel and the rooms was unique, fun, and comfortable. I appreciated the "stay green" opportunity and appreciated the $5.00 certificate for food or drinks that I received for each night that I "stayed green." I would stay at an Aloft hotel again.

Great hotel in the spirit of what one expects from an SPG Aloft brand hotel. The staff seem distracted and unconcerned about the comfort of the guests. Reserved two rooms for 2-night stay. Six folks total but only towels for four. Requested more and never received - had to search out and acquire for myself.

Hotel was fine. Rugs on 2nd floor in need of a good cleaning - smelled like feet when I got off elevator. Had coffee my first night, supplies were not replaced. Could really use a blanket in the room as the air is so hard to regulate and the feather blanket is far too heavy for middle aged women, lol

I felt your hotel and staff were the most accomodating I have ever experienced. Everyone was friendly All my questions were answered clearly and helpfully. The rooms had everything we needed. My 6'5 husband was so excited to actually fit in the over sized shower . He said he died and went to heaven.

pets down the hall, a little barking???
pets "let out" just in front of the main entrance, unpleasant site for us to look at. they should have a more secluded place to do this which is not possible at this site.

First time stay at an Aloft Hotel. Unique decor makes for a very clean, modern look. Was pleasantly surprised. The room layout was not your standard hotel room by separating the bath/sink area from the bedroom. Plenty of room, efficient, very neat.

Comfortable room at a good price. Configuration of "closet" (actualy a shelf with hangers and a curtain) was a bit awkward. Free botled water was nice. Only one issue - my window shade wouldn;t close completely. Not a big enough deal to call maintenance. Overall, I would stay here again.

I travel a fair amount and for the price, the Aloft DOES NOT provide the value that other SPG hotels or other chains provide. Also, 2/3 staff members that I engaged made me feel like I was doing them a favor by letting them assist me- this really left me with a poor customer experience.

The front desk staff is very friendly here. I was not recognized at all as an SPG guest at all however...This is our second stay here and I was recognized the first time as one, but not this time? Anyhow..good selection of food items in the hotel market...pretty clean and pet friendly.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Aloft-Chapel Hill. My room was quite comfortable and the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel's close proximity to delightful restaurants allowed me to leave my car and the cares of traffic behind as I enjoyed my wonderful stay.

I've stayed at the hotel 3 separate occasions now for multiple days and the wireless is consistently inconsistent. The strongest signal is by the lobby and it's difficult to work from the rooms.
The rooms could also use more light. The overheads are very dim.
