Never able to access wI-fi in my hotel room, during 2 days I stayed there. Was told "access point" for my room wasn't working. No radio in room, and without internet access could not listen to music, news, etc. When I asked about this, was told hotel had "different amenities" from other hotels, and that I could purchase a music package via TV!
Requested a wakeup call for morning of checkout (and flight from PDX), but never received it.

My husband and I stay here every time we are in Oregon. In fact, we won't stay anywhere else if we can help it. Aloft is a great value for a Starwood hotel, offering the same wonderful heavenly bed, and great service you would expect. No room service but we are fine with that as the price is less expensive than other Starwood hotels. They accept pets which is great when we travel with our two dogs. They even offer a doggie package with a bed, food bowls, and treats. They have a great quick meal area where you can get a breakfast sandwich and coffee in the morning along with an assortment of other goodies. The W XYZ bar is fabulous - my husband and I make it a point to settle in with a drink or two upon our arrival each time. The rooms are always clean, and modern. Overall our experience here (over 10 stays now) is always wonderful. Highly recommend!

We were first put in the room on the other side of where there is a pool table. (#115) We could hear noise in the pool table area and asked to be moved the next day. When we went to bed that evening in our new room, #415) there were food crumbs in the bed. We asked for new sheets and changed the bed ourselves. We did receive $24 to be used for food. Really! Frozen microwave food and candy. Was not asked at check out how are stay was.

I wish to first thank the front desk person, Gerard.
He's a keeper, not only efficient, but, friendly and smiling customer service is what is appreciated by guests. The fact that they welcome your dog, and supply a water bowl and pillow is another cudo.
I exclusively stay here at PDX each time I have the need to be in the Portland. I am very comfortable and the atmosphere is a feel good, relaxing one.

This hotel has the perfect location for shopping, restaurants and walking and cycling. Beautiful setting with lots of green space, trees and grassy areas. A bonus if you are travelling with a pet. Reception staff were great, especially Crystal and Christian who were extremely helpful.

Airport Shuttle & Staff are excellent and the room is a good value but park and fly which used to be free now costs and you cannot use points. Gold members used to get free lattes and now must pay for a latte. In fact, the only gold member benefit I received was the staff said thank you for being a gold member...And staff might delay cleaning rooms next to those who are still sleeping because of a later flight and arrival.

I have stayed here may times and would recommend the hotel to anyone.My one complaint is that they often only have one bartender working who has to make and serve food as well so they are often no where to be found. This happened to me on Friday night at 8:00 although its not the first time it has happened. There is simply no way one person can do everything if there are more than 3 people in the bar at one time.

The place is nice and kinda new. It has beautiful view and close to shopping centers. Only one thing is the problem, wi-fi doesn't work inside the room. And exhaust in the bathroom is not working too and one night light also is the same thing. Plus when I withdraw cash in atm inside the hotel it didn't gave me the right amount I tried to withdraw and asked the help of front desk they're not much of help anyways.

We gifted a wedding night to dear friends, I caleld Aloft and asked that they give special attention to the Raney's as we are SPG Preferred as well as Westin owners in Maui. We just found out they did an amazing job, giving this young couple snacks, etc. and most importantly meal vouchers which on this low budget (why we did the room as a gift) were literally GOLD. Thank you so very much bottom of my heart.

This hotel, along with the other Aloft hotels, offers a comfortable, clean and up-beat base for a business traveler on the go and budget.
The crew at Aloft are friendly and personable. Which makes a difference when you are dealing with so many people as a traveling salesperson.
I do hope in the near future this hotel adds the Smart Check-in Program. It's a nice feature for those of us on the go often.

I really appreciate that as an SPG Platinum memeber, I now receive complimentary coffee in the lobby. I don't recall getting this benefit at previous visits and I think it is a very nice perk. Thank you Aloft and SPG.

The biggest plus of this hotel was the comfort of rooms - the bed, TV, shower, layout, all excellent. To top that off, it has a spacious and well stocked gym (a rarity in the hotels I stay) where couple of us were able to get our workouts in without feeling crowded. I did not use the pool, but it looked clean and well tended to.
The next time I am in Portland I will check this hotel first.

I was staying in this hotel for 3 nights and declined room cleaning for 2 days in hope to receive 500 green choice pts (250 for each day of declined). I received 2 slips from the cleaning lady for this and submit both to the reception desk. One month later, I still do not have those promised points. I received only 250 instead of 500.

The hotel is located next to a Outdoor Shopping Mall with decent restaurants located in them. The hotel staff is very nice and professional. It would be nice to see the posting of the Make A Green Choice Points to my SPG Account much quicker. It usually takes 2-3 weeks for this posting to occur. All other Starwood Hotels I stay in post with 48 to 72 hours after I check out.

The aloft is a very neat and clean, non-traditional hotel that has the basics for a business traveler. It lacks a touch of luxury, which is likely not important to many male travelers. The lumpy pillows were a surprise for a hotel that appeared not to be the old. The simplistic styiling provided just the basics and less than more traditional hotels for the same price.

The service people had big smiles and were very helpful when the printer jammed while we were printing out our boarding passes. They fixed it immediately and were friendly.
I would suggest that another chair in the room would be helpful. Also, don't like the dark gray walls - seemed depressing. Do like the shelves across from the sink in the bathroom. It made storage very organized. Also like the long couch-type across from the beds for putting suitcases on. We had friends over and sat in the lobby for several hours. We ordered cokes in a can and the bar gentleman came over and brought glasses with ice in them. VERY NICE! The location is great for closeness to the airport and the shuttle service is great! We also enjoyed being so near restaurants. There are many pluses about this hotel. Just wish the rooms were brighter and lighter in color and better lighting in the bathroom. The large shower head and shower itself were nice.

Stayed here for one night before an early trip back home. The girl who checked us in was exceptional. But we reserved a king and were told there were no kings left... We get upstairs and I just got a not so clean feel from the room. My 15 month old was walking around the room after a long day in the car and her socks were filthy from the carpet and bathroom. Shower didn't seem too clean and very annoyingly the toilet seat wouldn't stay up long enough to pee. I had to simultaneously hold it up and pee. Worst though at checkout, I was charged the wrong rate compared to what I had booked the room at. I pointed this out to the person at the desk and basically was told "sorry, can't help..." When I called the hotel when I got back home an extremely competent person helped and fixed it but why did I need to go through the hassle. The location is great but there are like ten other hotels in the same area that I can go to next time...

I spent one night at this property and overall was pleased. The staff is professional and friendly and the entire property was clean. As for the room I found the pillows to be a bit too soft for me and experienced airport noise (to be expected at an airport hotel). But otherwise this is a solid option and I will plan to return.

Front desk staff was awesome! The only suggestion I would make would to be to explain that the shuttle was a Sheraton / Hampton / Aloft combined shuttle and yellow in color. 1st time users may not realize this. I frequently stop in Portland on my way to Hawaii and will ALWAYS stay at Aloft from now on and when available, stay at Aloft properties when I can.

This hotel is comparable to a boutique or a 3 1/2 star hotel. The design is contemporary and the room is clean. The only issue we have are the staff's attentiveness to the guest's needs. We did not exactly get what we requested even though we were told that our request was noted. Other than the less exemplary customer service, the hotel was good overall.

The only thing that I would have liked that the hotel didn't have was a hot tub. The pool was very good though and we were the only people there. Our room was very nicely appointed with everything that we needed. We were greeted by very friendly staff during check in and the staff was most helpful in assisting us with directions during our stay.

We like Starwood properties and were excited to try an Aloft. It was terrific and I will try to find them wherever I go. The vibe is hip and fun without being pretentious. Pool table in lobby. Nice pool & fitness room. Delicious, fresh, hot breakfast sandwiches. It had everything we needed.Also conveniently near stores (Target)/restaurants/yogurt shop.

during the whole night there was loud noise from some kind of pump or ventilation system, starting every 10-15 minutes for a couple of seconds, really disrupting my sleep
the noise source seems to be on the corridor, and not in the room or another room above/left/right
everything else would be great, but that was a serious problem (I had room 223)

THis was my first experience staying with Aloft and my expectations were certainly exceeeded. Clean comfortable room and very spaciaous for its actual dimensions. My only suggestion is that it would have been nice to have a hot breakfast availible as the team that I brought into town ended up eating at IHOP.
