Rated 4 out of 5 Good Room but noisy refrigerator and noisy heating unit
I loved the atmosphere and the room was nice but the refrigerator was very noisy and the heating unit was loud. The staff was friendly and made my checkin easy. The bed was very comfortable and I would return..

The address from your web page listed the hotel in National Harbor. As my gps did not list National Harbor it would have been helpful if you included, perhaps in brackets, Oxon Hill/Fort Washington.

Rated 2 out of 5 by kdang No Hot Water!
I do not usually give negative reviews because I know how hard the hospitality industry can be. However, in this case I cannot hold back. People stay in hotels to have a place to sleep and wash while away from home, meeting life’s basic needs. When these needs are not met what good is a hotel? Two of the four days I spent at Aloft I did not have hot water. Showers were not enjoyable. When I brought this issue to the staff’s attention they gave me food vouchers to be used at your breakfast bar. What good is that when food is already provided to me through the convention that I was attending? Another issue that this brings to mind is that of equity. The other two people I was traveling with that also had the same hot water problem got their rooms for the two days for free. All I received was some food tickets, how is that fair? I am a staff developer for a high school and book a lot of travel for people. If this is the kind of service Starwood provides I cannot and will not use this company again. I want my people well taken care of and you did not take care of me on this trip.

I didn't know what to expect before we arrived. From check-in to check-out the stay was wonderful - to a very large extent due to the staff. They were always pleasant, courtious, and helpful. Keep it up!

Rated 3 out of 5 by MamaK This hotel is trying too hard to be trendy
The Aloft clearly went for look over comfort. The hotel has worked hard on its trendy decor, but the room itself left a lot to be desired. The beds were not comfortable, and the pillows were terrible. The chairs in the room looked cool, but when we sat in them, they were not comfortable. Also, there was NO storage space in the room. The "closet" was just some hangers on the wall in the bathroom area, and there were no drawers to put our clothes - just some baskets.
There were some positives. The in-room safe was nice, and the in-shower shampoo and body wash dispensers were great (good products). We also really liked the balcony off of the lobby, very nice with the outdoor fire. I liked the eco-friendly $5 food voucher for not using housekeeping everyday. However, the voucher just made the breakfast affordable because they were charging $5.50 for just a breakfast sandwich, not including a drink!
Overall, the hotel just seemed to be going for a stark, minimalist approach. The hotel looks a lot better in pictures than in person. The only reason to stay here is the location, which is great.

I was very disappointed with this hotel room. I felt like it was a complete waste of money. The arrangement of room with the bathroom next to front door was weird. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Guest234 Hotel has an excellent location
Being centrally located on the National Harbor you can walk to the stores and restaurants, relax on the waterfront and if necessary your room is close enough to return to for a quick break.

I was given a two night hotel stay at the Aloft at National Harbor. I was very impressed with the ultra modern decor, friendly staff, and overall experience with this hotel. The patio has a very comfortable feel with padded ottoman like seating and at night color changing lights set the mood along with a nice fire pit. The staff acknowlaged us any time we came in or left the building. "welcome back" or "enjoy your day". Little words like this let us know that the staff actually cared that we were there, some hotels just have desk assoiates that dont even know if you have left the building let alone say one word to you after check in. Our room was very nice, it had a Korean feel. We had a harbor view room and i must say breath taking. the bed was comfy and i loved the comforter (down alternative if im not mistaken).we stopped for a drink at the wxyz lounge in the hotel and it was nice to be able to relax in a welcoming atmosphere. THEY HAVE A POOL TABLE IN THE LOBBY! and they have plenty of comfy seating to laugh it up with friends or cuddle your love one while watching the fire place. overall i would recommend this hotel to others in a heart beat. close to the metro station, dc, and lots more! prime spot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BIGV9 THE MATRESSES ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!!
The only complaint that i would have is that the matress is VERY uncomfortable. A more comfortable bed (such as the Westin has) seriously needs to be looked into.

The Aloft has a great location in the heart of the National Harbor.
I was a bit disappointed in the hotel room itself though, it was not as nice as the price would indicate.

I stayed one night at this hotel. The sliding glass door to the toilet/shower, had a shatter spot on it covered with clear tape. Initial room, #732, was a connecting room and could hear the TV in #734 blasting for 2 hours. After the first hour, called the front desk, they sent up security, which did nothing. I waited another half hour, still blaring TV! Called again, Mike, the front desk clerk, and the best part of our stay, offered to move us on the same floor to a junior suite, very nice of him. He delivered the keys along with a $20 voucher for food, breakfast setup needs work! Got to the new room and the toilet was backed up. Called him again, and he said there was no maintenance staff on, so he sent security up with a plunger, I had to plunge the toilet myself! I've never done that, even in a cheap hotel! Plus, the shades on the windows, that cover the entire wall, did not go down all the way, they all stopped with about 3 inches to go. So in the morning, you get sunlight right in your face! Not a good way to wake up. This hotel is not worth the money and ownership and management should be embarrassed!

The staff was great and I felt very comfortable. I am over 50 and felt that it is a hotel better suited to the under 50 set - a place young professionals would love.

I have the impression that this hotel gets abused by a rowdy sort of crowd. The hotel is positioned within the heart of National Harbor. The staff is wonderfully pleasant and helpful. Amenities are exactly what you would expect - a sufficient gym, an indoor pool, cool lobby/hotel bar and “in-the-building” restaurant which offers room service. Parking is convenient in an adjacent garage at $11 daily. Despite all of the positive features, the overall experience is blemished by the guests themselves; guests that have little respect for others or the property. I could easily blame the hotel for the poor state of my guest room – the ripped wallpaper, stained rug, broken bed frame and musty smell. I could also blame them for the food on the lobby floor and furniture. But it became obvious after two nights that the staff were working very hard to maintain order and cleanliness. The real culprits were the guests. Just because a hotel looks like you are living a rock-star lifestyle doesn't mean you should trash your room. FYI –rooms with an odd number face the street/harbor; rooms with an even number face the courtyard/parking garage.

Modern accommodations. Nice, but doesn't have all of the amenities of a standard hotel. No kitchen = no room service, something I'm used to when traveling.
