Rated 4 out of 5 by Modern & basic with matching price point Modern and basic with a matching price point for area Aloft has a very clean feel and minimal styling. This is not the hotel for you if you are looking for plush full service accommodations. Common areas border on stark and could use more warmth. Lobby is on second floor after going up a set of modern/open concrete stairs. Lobby has a very open - warehouse feel and is divided into several seating/lounge areas - one of which has a bar. There is a small circular front desk which can serve about 3 customers at a time. They have a breakfast/food area which I did not look to closely at. The rooms are small but feel larger due to the very efficient use of space. The rooms were clean and fully equipped (although the iron and ironing board were extremely well hidden in a cubby behind the far side of the headboard). Workout room was small but had very good equipment – TV in most equipment – water and free ear phones (new and individually wrapped) for listening to TV. Pool was small and anyone counting on doing laps would be frustrated at size. The National Harbor area has lots of restaurants and fun bars with in close walking distance. This area is very safe to walk around at night and feels like a ‘convention island’ with only the hotels/ shops/ restaurants. I would stay here again because you get this great area at a reasonable price. There were several things that were good ideas but poorly executed 1. The lobby area was interesting but with too much concrete for my taste - the floors looked like they could just hose them down to clean them. 2. Bar area did not attract folks as a gathering place, it felt cheaply done and was not inviting. 4. Four screen display wall looked like something you could do yourself and was not at the same design level as the nice modern furniture that was used in the seating areas. 5. Airplane flight display concept is good – but display used small fonts and was mounted too high on wall - - so you actually could not read it easily. 6. touch screen check-in – they used a diagram on screen that showed inserting your Credit card in bottom of monitor.. however actual hardware was mounted in a drawer face about a foot off the floor 7. Rated 5 out of 5 by Fun location - nicest staff suggest serving real food instead of the packaged eggs , bacon etc. that was a bummer. if building code allows, suggest an 'egg station'. 3 small pans -heated with propane grills would add some excitement. still would only need 1 cookish and a temp. laborer. waffles and pan cakes could be nuked! tell about parkin charges on line. hey we had a great stay and traded out the food coupon for a trip to your grocery area, only cause i don't eat space food. anyway - the staff, room,location etc. was fun. had aloft of laughs - with the staff. Rated 5 out of 5 by My Stay at ALOFT - National Harbor Our stay at the ALOFT National Harbor was EXCELLENT, and I have already recommended the hotel to two friends planning their trips to the DC area. The staff was great. Their attention to detail regarding our needs and specifics for first time visitors to DC was invaluable. We had limited time to see all that we wanted and the ALOFT staff was key in our accomplishing all we wished for. The room as great. It felt very much like a comfortable condominium. We felt at home. Great views, and very contemporary amenities. The gym was great, and the breakfast food was ideal. The staff recommendation for surrounding restaurants and bars were great. We truly enjoyed every facet of our stay, and we WILL return soon. March 21, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location This was our second stay at the Aloft National Harbor for our bi-annual girls trip. We love staying at this hotel because of its location and staff. There are many great restaurants and shops and some great bars with good entertainment for the night life, all within walking distance. There is also a free shuttle that will take you to the closest Metro station where you can hop on the train with stops/transfers to many of the sites Washington DC is known for. As for the staff at the Aloft, they are amazing. They are always friendly and willing to assist with any questions you may have. Marvin, especially, is very personable and will give you great recommendations for restaurants based on what your taste is. March 17, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent and caring staff The staff in this hotel was amazing. They were very helpful and caring during our whole stay. Very nice decor and like the Re-Fuel station that is open 24/7. The only downside was that the pool during weekdays is closed from 10am to 5pm. Other than that I would stay here again! May 7, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lack of Customer Service As a General Manager of one of your locations, I was expecting just a little empathy from the situation. What I received was just the opposite. He was short, rude and very unprofessional. He stated that it would be taken care of I would be emailed a folio. Once again days passed and NOTHING. If this is the leadership and example that is set by the general manager, your team is in trouble! I then called the billing department and finally received everything needed. This situation should not have been this challenging! A little follow-up and simple customer service on every level would have been great. December 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Girls getaway paradise I had an amazing stay at the aloft hotel. It has a very chic and retro feel. The bar had amazing drinks and they snack pantry was very convenient! I had a rude encounter with one of the staff members, this issue was taken care of in an AMAZING way. Ihab Kherati, Patrick, Keyri, and Katrina are absolutely FANTASTIC!!! My room was very clean & spacious the staff was very friendly and eager to help my & my best friends needs! This hotel added greatly to my weekend experience! I will definitely be back at the ALOFT for my future trips while enjoying National Harbor! March 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Vibrant simplicity (The conference center was nearby, not on-site.) Aloft definitely made an impression on me. Most hotels to me are just a bed, a closet, a desk and a chair. Aloft (National Harbor, DC/MD) has a theme of clean, colorful straight lines and simplicity. The 6th floor room I had looked out at the Wilson Bridge and into Alexandria. (A room on a lower floor or facing the opposite direction might not have been able to see the water.) The staff was very helpful with any concern that I had (e.g. a lamp was replaced the day it was reported, with an immediate offer of an alternative room). The off-season price was competitive. I will definitely take note on future trips to see whether an Aloft is in the area. January 25, 2014

The room prices are high for the size the rooms are small and there were only one pillow had to get romm service to bring more pilolow when I arrived. i called at 4pm the came at 10pm. Okay they have a no smoking policy and i smoke I can adapt I went outside but you can smell marijuana smoke all weekend long. It was so many drunk and when I say drunk I MEAN FALL DOWN SLURRED VIOCE DRUNK. I was apporched by a person that could not walk leaving the loung area asking about a club i not from the area so i said I dont Know. This guy said and I quote "you know where the F_ March 25, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Marvin and Front Desk Staff Management at this location should be credited for the personality of staff they bring on board and empowering said staff to treat guests with utmost care. All staff, from Front Desk to Maids greeted me with a smile on their faces and a can do attitude. I had 2 small issues: (1) WIFI and (2) noise bleed from adjoining rooms. Both were resolved quickly and totally. Special acknowledgement to Marvin at Front Desk. A great credit to management at ALoft Nat'l Harbor. April 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Marvin is a rockstar! Marvin (who works at the front desk) was amazing! I have stayed at a number of hotels and never have I been more impressed with a hotel staff. He was friendly, welcoming and was an absolute highlight of our trip! He worked his tail off to make sure we had the best experience possible and because of him when we come back to National Harbor the Aloft hotel is the only place I am interested in staying. The rest of the hotel was pretty good also but Marvin makes it great! April 9, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! VERY MISLEADING!! THIS IS NOT A FULL SERVICE HOTEL!! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!! THIS IS NOT A FULL SERVICE HOTEL!!! There was NO ROOM SERVICE, not even a kitchen for the bar!! Just a backroom to heat up frozen-ready hot foods. The room decor is depressing!! Blue-grayish walls!! It has a jail feel to it! Not so much as a picture on the walls and we stayed in two separate rooms just to see if we would have a different experience on the last night - NOT! Was forced to go out and get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All the nearby restaurants close at 11pm, so a late weekend dinner is basically out of the question. We had to call a nearby carryout. Did I mention the dull and depressing decor!! It looks like cheap, Ikea knock-off furniture!! SO DISAPPOINTING!!! March 12, 2013

Rated 2 out of 5 by Not again! It was not an experience. Underwhelming by just walking in the lobby. Given incorrect reservation. I had to return back to the front desk to get what I paid for. The lotion (tube) in the bath area was nearly empty meaning it was leftover from a previous guest. YUK! I felt unsafe in the lobby with persons loitering in the area. We had a drink in the bar but departed very soon due to others in the surrounding area (homeless as noted by clothing and smell and and obviously under the influence of some type of substance).Hotel needs a good "quality" manager and heightened security. Rated 2 out of 5 by Small Rooms... Nice Design When I first walked into the hotel I had to go up an elevaor to get to the lobby. Once in the lobby, I found it odd that the welcome desk and bar were right next to each other. I had a late check-in so when I got there the bar had a few roudy people, plus right next to the bar a little boy was in a chair right in between the bar and welcome desk playing a Wii they had setup. It took a while for the one person behind the desk to finish with the one coule ahead of us, then when it was our turn it took about 3 minutes from start to finish. When she asked if I wanted to sign up for their reward program I informed her that we had dinner reservations and were running a littlebehind, she looked offended and then rushed through the rest of the check-in. The whole time we were there kids ran around the whole hotel while no parents were in site and no one stopped them.Even though the room was very small, I love the decor though it was a great mix of retro and contemporary making it a Hipster's dream. Rated 1 out of 5 by night front desk bad...Morning front desk nice We did our reservation by phone with spg, the lady who attend us was rude and ask me to spell names and address when I have a member number an all the information was there.When we arive to the hotel. ..they told us that they don't have a reservation and even when we have a printed confirmation thay told us that we have to wait at least for 10 minutes.We left for an hojr and when we came back we have to wait for half more hour until they gave us a room with bad attitude no apologies and It looked like it was our fault.After that we had more bad experiences...but is too lon June 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Genuinely friendly staff My wife and I had a rare overnight fun trip to National Harbor planned, and lucked into finding the Aloft Hotel there. There were lots of things we enjoyed about our stay. The room was great, comfortable, with a great view. But the highlight was the genuine friendliness and accomodation provided by the front desk staffperson who we think was named Marvin. He treated us great throughout our brief stay, and even moved us up to the top floor for a better view after we had already checked in. It is always amazing how much a smile and greeting make a difference. January 17, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed Stay So Left Early I liked the modern furniture and atmosphere of the hotel. The room itself was very comfy but once it was time for bed I could not fall asleep due to all of the LED lights (some blinking some not) from the phone, smoke detector, etc., the white light shining thru the sides of the pull-down curtains, and music playing outside my room/hotel at 3AM. Why was the bed pointed toward the 2 large windows anyway? And the fact that the price did not include overnight parking means the hotel stay was over priced and over rated! I will not stay at the Aloft at National Harbor again. December 14, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Loved the location and view We stayed in National Harbour for almost a week and really enjoyed our stay at aLoft. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful (notably Patrick and a gentleman whose name started with an M ?), and the complementary shuttle was a must-have for staying outside walking distance of a metro station. Room was elegant, streamlined, and had a great view of the harbour. Pool was a hit for the kids - although a bit small. April 7, 2014
