Rated 3 out of 5 by Great concept, just need to improve execution.... Just completed a 2 night stay at your hotel. Overall very impressed, with a couple of comments: 1.) Housekeeper did a very poor job on room upkeep. Trash left in waste can, dirty towel left on floor, complimentary water bottles were not provided/replaced after first night. 2.) Not enough kitchen staff to support food requirements in morning when everyone wants to get moving. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of the hotel, but would like to see a little more focus on guests, and then my recommendation would be unreserved! January 10, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not the worst...not the best A very simple hotel where they have maximized minimum space. The bed was very comfortable, however the television worked for the first day and wouldn't come on the next day. They shut off the wireless over during our second nights stay, had to call the front desk in the morning to have it re-activated. The ironing board is miniature, not sure what it's meant to accommodate other than shorts or a tshirt. The bathroom vent was full of dust..nasty. Housekeeping comes at 8:30 in the morning..never experienced that before. June 10, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by The hotel was not clean BWI I reserved three rooms for four nights. This was a business trip. One of my employees had to change rooms because the room was not clean and in such disrepair. Two days in a row by bathroom was not cleaned, no fresh water was replaced and there was no toilet paper. We went to the bar one night and the only food on the menu they could offer was a grilled cheese sandwich and soup. I couldn't get a glass of wine because the bar ad no cork screw. We were on the third floor and the hall was never vaccumed our entire stay. September 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by This is a cool hotel;contemporary and fun ! Check out the colorful bar top and when riding the elevator be sure to look down at the floor ! A real surprise! I was disappointed that there was not an actual restaurant but there is food available from the bar. There were a few things that needed repair but the hotel id clean and the staff friendly and helpful. That made up for the defects. They were not major: cracked mirror in upper corner and loose flooring in the shower. The airport shuttle was great. It was on time and the drivers were helpful and pleasant. April 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Choice The staff was all so very courteous and attentive. Everyone said hello and was very nice and immediately handled our requests. The room was clean and ready early as we requested. I only recommend the bar be open before 5 pm as im sure you have guests like myself that would like to enjoy after a long flight and more food selection and choices. Other then that excellent hotel and the staff is amazing! November 4, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not as depicted This place looks so fancy on your website, but...the snazzy looking bar was pathetic. Ony 2 choices of white wine (One of them reisling!), small, cramped and uncomfortable. The rooms are smaller than they appear. Open showers get water all over the place. I asked for service to replace a burned out lightbulb. Two hours later when I was ready to go to bed, nobody had arrived to fix it. The place is sold as being "hip," and it really isn't anything special at all. Also, difficult to find from West Nursery Road. September 29, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Second Stay Disappointing First Stay in Mid January was excellent. Our Stay on Febv 6th terrible. Arrived from at BWI Airport from Sanfransico at 9:30 PM. Called Hotel put on hold for 10 minutes, 2nd call 5 minutes. Took three calls, 20 minutes to ask for the Shuttle to pick up us. Arrive at ALoft at 9:50 PM. Given $20 in Food and Beverages for Shuttle delay. Bar Tender unfreindly, took drink orders but not food order. He dissappeared from the Bar for 10 minutes. Other patrons also frustrated. Went to room. Room was excellent. Next morning discovered only one bar of soap (we use upon arriving). No soap or shampoo dispensor in Shower AT ALL! Room 222. Previous stay, was built in. Took showers will the one small bar of soap, checked out. WHAT IT GOING ON with the BWI LOCATION....change in staff and management?????? February 8, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Need to check rooms This is my 3rd time staying at this location. 1st time was great. 2nd time, my room was missing the bathroom door/full length mirror. 3rd time, the shampoo/conditioner dispenser was missing from the shower and there was no coffee stocked in my room. Called the desk at 7:30am and was told I'd have to come down myself because no one was available until after 8am. I travel every other week for work and choose to stay at an Aloft whenever possible. This was probably the worst one out of all my trips. June 7, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Last Minute My flight was delayed coming into BWI and I missed my connecting flight. I was very frustrated and tired when I had to quickly find a place to stay and a way to get there. The staff at BWI suggested ALoft and I remembered I had stayed at the one in Chicago before. I called and from the reservations lady to the shuttle driver on through it was a cake walk getting set up and taken care of, and the facilities are clean and welcoming and a place you can recharge. Rated 4 out of 5 by Very prompt shuttle service. We were very pleased with the prompt service both to and from the airport. The hotel was only a 5 minute ride to the airport and when we returned to shuttle was at the exit to pick us up immediately upon our return. We will definately stay again when flying out of BWI. Rated 1 out of 5 by AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL This was the most atrocious hotel experience. Our bathroom did not have a door. After calling down to the front desk, the woman responded with a curt, 'Ill send someone right up.' After an hour of waiting, no one showed up, and as we had dinner plans, we left hoping the issue would be resolved upon our arrival. We get back, and not only is the toilet clogged, but still no door. We called down again, just to have the man at the front desk act surprised and bewildered at our lack of door. 'I will tell the manager in the morning,' he said. This clearly never happened. When checking out, we briefed the woman at the front desk of our problems- she gave us some half-assed story about ordering the wrong doors from China and the shipping being the reason why there were no doors yet. Absolute lie. Do yourself a favor and find another hotel to stay at. September 24, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very frustrated I called to book and was told breakfast was included with our room. We wanted a hotel where it was included so it would be one less thing to worry about before catching our flight. When we checked in we were also told breakfast started at 6. When we came down for breakfast the next morning, there was nothing there. I asked the girl at the desk and she said very unapologetically that the chef didn't show up. I then asked, " is there anything we could have for breakfast?" Another employee said, "we could throw in a microwaveable sandwich for each of you." I said that would be fine and ran up to pack our stuff since we were now behind schedule. When I came back down she asked for my credit card to pay for them. I refused. She then said she would just charge our room for them. I was absolutely appalled. December 23, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Convenient to airport, great shuttle service Stayed here because it is very convenient to airport. Positives for staff, desk individual was very responsive and the shuttle service was very responsive. Negatives, extremely poor and slow bar / food service, waited about a half hour for bar tender to return to bar after preparing food for someone else (grilled cheese and soup?). Several people just got frustrated and went elsewhere. Overall good experience with parking and shuttle, but eat and drink before you get here. June 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent We only stayed at the hotel for one night but it was a great experience. The employees were very helpful. If you want some place modern this is the place to go and is very clean. They have great deals where you can leave your car parked there while you travel. They have a shuttle that runs every 15 minutes that will take you to BWI (24 hours/7 days a week). It is really easy to contact them to pick you up when you return from your trip. Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT service - Only way to go if flying in and out of BWI. Decided to give this place a try. Had early flight out of BWI for long weekend. We expected to park in BWI lot, but hotel suggested leaving car with them and taking their shuttle to and from airport. Saved us the parking fee and their shuttle was faster and nicer than BWI shuttle. The shuttle driver was so friendly and helpful; he even offered us a cold drink when we returned and drove us right to our car since it was dark! Hotel itself very comfortable. Highly recommend. Rated 2 out of 5 by Epic Failure x3 The hotel is less than 10 minutes away from BWI Airport. The hotel décor and furnishing are scuffed and in disarray. I think its probably time for an update. Staffing levels are at the bare minimum and need to improve. The staff who were there are great but are in need of resources to take care of their guest appropriately. Parking is free and there are restaurants within five minutes of the hotel. Free shuttle service to not only the airport but to local businesses. July 21, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Loud Outside Area Everything about the Hotel was fine. However the outdoor patio was being used until pas 2 am by people drinking. The noise carried up sides of hotel and right into our room. We phoned front desk 3 times asking them to close patio, but nothing happened despite them saying they would handle it. Would Suggest requesting room away from this patio if you stay here. Hotel should have a closing time for the outdoor patio and instruct the front desk staff to enforce it. August 4, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs maintenance and caring staff The security lock on the door was broken in half with sharp metal edges exposed, and one of the screws pulled half way out of the door. The coffe maker had a used wet filter inside. The safe was locked when I arrived. Perhaps the staff could ensure the safes are unlocked and functional. The internet was only functional about half the time of my short stay. The media connector box on the desk was non functional, and could not be reset. Even the power outlets did not work. Rated 3 out of 5 by rooms need improvement I do not like the shower: shower head is too weak and had trouble just washing soap off body; do not like just shower - shower door continued to open means it was not hung evenly; mattress was extremely hard and difficult to get comfortable for sleep; staff was extremely friendly but they obviously cannot do anything regarding a 'weak shower head' nor the hardness of the mattresses October 12, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointing We only stayed here because we had an early Sat. morning flight for a weekend trip, and we liked having the airport shuttle and that we could park until Sunday at the hotel. Front desk on check-in, not very friendly. Asked for a wake-up call and never got it. Thankfully, my husband's cell phone rang in time for us to make our flight. For a very "modern", upscale looking hotel, the carpet in our room was stained and the walls need repairs. Not really that impressed :( September 19, 2012

The hotel shuttle took A long time to pick us up, that was a bit annoying since it was midnight, but the driver was nice though and apologized and got us to hotel safe. Rooms at nice, quiet and comfy. Reminded me a bit of Europe. Good coffee and amenities in the rooms. October 25, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Rooms are sub-par Walked into room to stained carpet, scratched up walls. Shower gel dispenser didn't work, forcing you to scoop it out from the top after removing lid. Lid was already removed and upside down, meaning the previous tenant likely had the same issue. After a couple days, the bathroom light went out, forcing you to take a shower in the dark. The other amenities are good, but overshadowed by the pathetic maintenance in the room. Won't recommend and won't be back. December 7, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Parking was a nightmare The parking at this hotel was a nightmare. Seems they let guest from the hotel next door park in their parking lot. I drove around for 15 minutes looking for a place. Then I went into the front desk to ask for help. They tried to get one of their stafff to move, but they could not find the individual to move his car. Finally one of the guest from the other hotel left and I found a parking space. What a waste of almost one hour. Never use this hotel again. February 3, 2014

Airport Shuttle: We called for the airport shuttle 4 times over a 15 minute span and no one picked up, it would ring and ring and then kick us back to the automated message. We then paid for a taxi (even though we selected the hotel SPECIFICALLY because they had an airport shuttle). Cleanliness: The hotel has a musty odor. After arriving we were given a room which was dirty (the bed wasn’t even made). We requested a new room and when we were finally given keys, it was also gross (towels stained, hair in the bed, sheets discolored and full of pilling). Overall: I use to travel 6 days a week and spend nights at 2-3 different hotels a week, I’ve seen it all and it takes a lot for a hotel to disgust me but Aloft managed to do it. The hotel was disgusting, the staff was rude and unhelpful and we would not recommend the hotel to anyone. April 22, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cool hotel, but could use some cleaning Overall, I really like the aloft concept and we stayed at other Aloft hotels. The main lobby was nice, but the hallwayon the 2nd floor was littered with scraps of plastic and paper and did not look very clean. The room easily clean and nice. The soap and shampoo dispenser were nearly empty and we ran out after 1 shower was taken and had to use soap we brought along. Not good for a more elite hotel like we have come to expect at the W line of hotels. November 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Hotel, but accessible rooms not huge We picked this hotel for the indoor pool and the proximity to the airport. Both of these things met our expectations. The only issue I had was the size of the handicap accessible room that I requested. My son is in wheelchair and the accessible room we had was so small that he could not turn around in the room at all. October 20, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Unfortunately disappointing hotel stay From the minute that I walked up to the disorganized hotel staff to check in, I had a bad sense about this hotel. After waiting five minutes for the two associates to finish a conversation, one asked the other to help me. The greeting was, "Name?" and the warm and fuzzy impression of this hotel continued. Once getting my keys, which apparently required me to be asked three times, "how many keys do you want?" by the associate, I was directed to the elevators with an uninterested wave of the hand and a curt, "over there." The elevator was filthy; the room amenities were missing soap and shampoo; it appeared (and smelled) that one of the beds hadn't been changed; no bill was left under my door (again causing a 10 minutee wait upon check-out. The best part of staying at this hotel was driving away and knowing that I would never stay there again. July 21, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Regarding Staff The Aloft is our favorite hotel. We do get a ways to Winchester Va all the time. I had to pick my daughter up at BWI on a Sunday 12th and I stayed the night on Saturday Reg No# 20868068 - 2836432 -1st I made reserved the room week or so ahead. we get a room on the bottom floor with a view of a parking lot. :( Asking the check in clerk for a better room. She could of been a little nicer. It make me want to walk out! The hotel in Winchester Va Staff was a lot nicer. Your staff was nice! But the girl that cked me in made me feel very uncomfortable. This was my 1st expressions of your hotel. This girl was black lady with long dreadlocks. also I talked to the same girl over the phone for early check in and she also made me feel uncomfortable. People like this should not work in public. I even expressed my concern to a very nice girl later that night at the front desk. Short hair "Adorable Soul" Over all we love your hotel but hope in the future. The staff would be nicer to the customers. October 20, 2014
