The hotel staff was friendly but the room was very cold. Turned up the heat in the room but it was still cold in the morning. Also had stains on the carpet and the programming on te TV was from the sixties.

My wife and I stayed here with our dog while visiting family. Normally we would have stayed in a location that is closer to our actual destination but it was booked. The folks handling reservations said we might try the Aloft as the pet policy was similar and it was a partner hotel. We agreed and booked with Aloft. While I appreciate the favorable pet policy the theme of Aloft was not what we were looking for. The lobby was overly loud and seemed more like a cheesy club with loud party music. The room was some strange attempt at being modern with a sliding barn like door to the bath room. The room also didn’t seem as clean as one might expect. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you have no other choices.

So I read several reviews before choosing this place (majority negative). However it was a great deal, $75. Now I see why. I stayed this past weekend. The lobby is beautiful, but the rooms are definitely lacking. They are set up like a dorm room. Desk on each side with the window. No microwave, only mini-fridge. Had several issues with internet connection going in and out and "engineer" had to fix it. Room could have been cleaner. Dust everywhere. Looks like it had been a month or more before anyone else had been there. Poor tv quality. Shower door is awkward and results in lots of water on floor.
Morning front desk was awesome. The lady there at 3p-11p was not, she was busy talking to her friends and eating at the desk. Lots of kids in the lobby and fitness room at all hours. Highly inappropriate with the bar right in the lobby. Would have been better if there was a game room for the children. I could go on and on, but you get the jest and that's the meat of it. Not going back. So many options in that area to have to put up with that.

Second visit to this motel. The first visit was sufficient to warrant a return visit - at that time the hotel met our need for a good night of sleep, our budget, and adequate location for our purposes. During this visit, however, there was a distinct change - the hotel lobby is so loud the staff at the reception desk could not even hear us when we were checking in, the hotel manager decided not to adhere to SPG corporate policy (or the multiple attempts by SPG corporate to resolve the issue - fortunately SPG Corporate resolved the issue with us directly), and the hotel management made no effort to address the partying taking place at all hours of the night throughout the hotel corridors and rooms. In fact, Aloft management took no action when the rowdy party in the adjacent room decided it would be fun to open the adjoining door and attempt to enter our room at 3am, despite a call to the front desk. Instead, the partying guests passed out in their drunkenness before the hotel management got around to sending security. It's too bad, too, because the Aloft concept is a good addition to the SPG brand (simple, affordable, edgy) and we would stay here again if not for the poor management of this declining Aloft location.

From the first night, I had a feeling my stay would not be pleasant. The first room I received had stains on the sofa which is located under the TV. The walls were scuffed and worn down. The carpet had stains all over. The front desk guy was cool and allowed me to get another room, however the second room was about the same. The floor was wet from the refrigerator being unplugged. The microwave was dirty. The walls were covered with some sort of soda that had dried and never been cleaned. Gross. It seems as though the cleaning staff takes days off or just lazy. Several days I came back and my room hadn't been cleaned, and when they were attempting to clean, it seemed as though they were just there to socialize. I was not made aware of any check out time, and the staff was completely rude when notifying me that I needed to check out. The front desk worker kept calling my room harassing me about my check out time, and even sarcastically thanked me for checking out after the check out time (that was never disclosed to me). That front desk person very rude, unprofessional, and should not have a job working with people. I observed how they did not have much business the time I was there, and I see why. Besides the one guy that worked the front desk 10pm-6am shift and the internet tech support guy, everyone else on the staff should be advised to find new jobs if they want the Aloft to compete with the other hotels in the area.

My a/c went out at my house and I needed to find a place to stay the night of 7/28. We picked Aloft Chesapeake and were disappointed. The room # 417 had better days. The mirror on the wall was cracked, there were spots on the walls ? , Dented microwave and the decoration pillow had a hole in it. The icing on the cake was the cleaning staff person (friendly) who got on the elevator with me and my 12 year old daughter. She was playing music on her ipad, but there was an image on it of two people having doggie which my daughter saw. As you can imagine, it was quite embarrassing. Suggestion: no more ipads on cleaning carts.

I just hung up with the hotel over a stay a month back. There was a charge on my credit card account after I stayed and no one felt the need to tell me they were charging me. When I called to ask they just said "well i'm not the one who put it there," WOW that's helpful..I cannot believe they did not need to at least call and tell me. It's not about the charge, I'm angry they didn't feel the need to call and tell me they were going to use my card. I will not stay with them again
