The GM Jim Williams and his staff were incredible for my daughters wedding. There was no detail missed. Yvonne was extremely helpful and even helped me borrow a cart so I could act like a room service attendant to bring coffee to my daughter and bridesmaids. Everyone in our wedding party loved the hotel. The weather was great. Thanks for your part in making this a memorable weekend for my daughter. May the Lord continue to shine on you and your staff to bring glory to God.
P.S. BTW I asked several staff throughout the weekend if they liked working there and if they liked the GM? Everyone from service techs to front desk all had positive things to say about Jim Williams. Keep up the great work.

Booked the room at the end of August for check in on 12/30 thru 01/01. Arrived at 3:30, told rooms were not ready for check in. When we were assigned a room on the 14th floor, the entire floor looked as if it needed to be vacuumed. Had to complain to the front desk about cigarette smoking on the 14th floor a couple of times and the stink of cigarettes never went away. It just appeared that the hotel did not have the staff to handle the amount of guests for NYE. I have stayed at this Aloft before and this experience did not live up to the others.

We booked four rooms, two of them were on the quiet side and two were on the noisy side (above some clubs). Those who tried to sleep on the side above the clubs found them to be very noisy until about 2:00am making sleeping diffcult.

My friends and I were throwing a surprise bachelorette party and we chose Aloft for location. Location was perfect! When we first arrived there for check in our rooms were not quite ready. They told us to go on over to the bar and they would buy us a drink while waiting. Our bartender Michelle was so friendly and personable and she asked us what the occasion was. When we told her it was a surprise bachelorette party, she got out a book and asked us where we were heading that she could give us passes to get in with NO cover. What the what? Nothing like that did we expect, and the fact that she did that for us made our night! I would stay here again for all of the above reasons and more. Simply fantastic, and Michelle and the rest of the staff deserves some serious KUDOS! Thanks.

Second stay at Aloft. The staff was so friendly and courteous. We love that our dog is as big a deal as we are! She loved her bed....couldn't get her out of it. As always, love the Refuel station and the view!

The hotel is located right in the heart of everything that is happening in downtown Charlotte. Was able to walk to my meetings on Tryon Street and walk to dinner at 5Church.
After was able to go to various bars and clubs (went to Bubbles) that were in the epicentre complex.
The hotel staff laminated two of my business cards into bag tags, which was a neat touch I've never seen before.
Think the only missing is more food options outside of the Fuel lounge (but you have tons of options if you walk out of the hotel).

I frequently travel to Charlotte for business, and I've stayed at the aloft several times. Yesterday evening at 11:45pm, an employee barged into my room without knocking. I had the do not disturb sign hung on my door, but he did not even knock. He claimed that he thought the room was empty and that he was checking no one was in the room.
I found this extremely rude and disturbing. Not only was I about to go to sleep, but he had no regard for the do not disturb sign. I would hope that someone would inform the employees not to enter rooms without knocking.
In addition, when I checked into my room, there were 2 black hairs on one of the beds on the sheet near the pillow. As mentioned before, I've stayed at this hotel several times and have never had these issues before.

I checked into this hotel mid evening Monday and immediately went out with work colleagues. I returned around 2am to my room. The next morning, I realized the toilet was not working and informed the staff (an african amercian young lady working at the check in). She was "busy" talking with a group of other people and I had a feeling she wouldn't remember, however she did take my room number. I returned to my room that night around midnight to find the toilet was not fixed. I checked out a day early the next day.

This hotel needs to focus on the needs of business people that are in town. If you arrive by cab you will be fine. If you bring an automobile, LOOK OUT! The parking charges are outrageous. The rooms are spartan and the walls are paper thin. You can hear street noise and people walking the halls. The lobby is on the 5th floor and hard to find. There is no bell service and you must lug your luggage to and from your room by yourself. You are on your own to find a luggage cart. I had to search the two underground parking structures for one.
Staff is nice and polite and rooms are clean. If you want ice for your room, you must go to the 5th floor lobby and get a small zip-lock bag.
First and only time I will stay there. I will pay more and stay in a better serviced hotel.

The staff at the hotel are wonderful. The fitness center though very nice - needs maintenance - the fitness balls were almost totally deflated which made them unusable. I was there for 4 days and only got one little tube of body cream the first day which does not last 4 days. I did the Go Green (or whatever was called) - did not mind not having new towels, having my bed made or having the room cleaned after one night, but did not realize that included no coffee or water refresh. Bed was uncomfortable.

This was my first experience with an Aloft Hotel and it went well. I got a great rate and had a good room. I am not a "modernistic" guy but found the room very functional. A big flat-screen, a refrig, and a good shower with soap and shampoo- what more do you need? My only gripes with the place were a co-traveler had a billing glitch which was easily resolved and some noise issues caused by inconsiderate guests and exterior noise. Can't blame the hotel for those. Overall- VERY GOOD, I'd recommend it!!

This hotel is very over rated. The staff was snooty. It was extremely loud and unsavory. Trash everywhere, which you could also smell. Room was extremely basic and was not comfortable.

I understand and appreciate the target of your hotel's customers. But you need to understand that you cannot be exclusively prejudice to which you are! I have never had a latte, or any other of that stuff. In fact the texting feature of my cell phone is turned off. So when I went to get a 'Complimentary' coffee, there was nothing in English in the snack bar area I could discipher! I am not Spanish, French, and only speak English. Where was the complimentary COFFEE!?

You can't beat the epicenter location, but at check in, the guy at the counter was more concerned about singing along with the DJ than checking me in. He didn't tell me about any of the amenities, where the gym was, etc.
At other spg hotels I typically get a note or something else recognizing spg platinum status, but I didn't get anything here. The mirror in my room had also been taped because it was broken. Overall, great location, but staff need improvement

Our experience at the Aloft Charlotte Uptown started out not so good...first the location was not in the GPS so we spent alot of time driving around looking for the location..not very well marked...It was nice to have the valet parking...they were great...the ppl at the front desk were amazing! Very friendly and helpful..checked into our room..and no sound on our TV...that lasted all day and nite..not a happy camper..did I mention we were there for our sons wedding...so friday nite..back to the room and no TV yet..but Paul and Myron to the rescue...they arrainged for us to move...they moved us to a nicer room...thank you guys! and to top it off...back from our sons wedding and found snacks in our room, comliments of those two young men..I would stay there again but would suggest that you add more closet space to your rooms...

A few years back, I statyed at the Aloft Charlotte Uptown and experienced three middle of the night false fire alarms in one night. I decided not to return. However on a recent trip, other hotels were sold out, so I reluctantly returned. The service was much better and there were no fire alarms.
Generally, the stay was good. but the wired internet did not work at all and the wireless was so slow that the connection repeatedly "timed out". I was on the phone with the hotel's internet service provider for about an hour and they could see the problem. They kept rebooting the routers which made only minor improvements. Needless to say, I moved after the first night to the Westin Charlotte where the internet was reliable.
The location is a "party" entertainment building with unruly, loud bars and so it's great if you're there for that.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a conference in Charlotte and overall I was very happy. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Potential guests should remember that this is not a 5 star full service hotel, so there isn't room service and don't expect a bellhop to take your bags etc. But for guests who don't need those services, this place is great.
- Great Staff
- Great location, central to restaurants, entertainment, and a CVS and Walgreens
- Fantastic gym (Pool is okay)
- Refuel (Food Area) is great and they serve made to order breakfast
- Free espresso drinks!!!
- Pool table and lounge area is fun and relaxing
- can get a bit noisy from the entertainment down below, so you might need to leave the fan on in the room.
- this hotel is located on the 5th floor of an existing complex, so there are two elevators to take.
- rooms are functional, but not really meant for a family.

Room layout was very strange. Prefer a more traditional layout. Room with 2 queens was rather small. Heating/cooling was horrible as the thermostat was right next to the heating/cooling unit! Had to leave a note for housekeeping asking them to vacuum the floor because it had not been vacuumed after the first night. Really missed having room-service. Had to follow-up with hotel staff 2-3 times before requests were taken care of.

Room smelled like sweat; toilet paper dispenser broke; found hair in the soap dish; desktop outlet didn't work; fire alarm went off at 3 or 4 in the AM (false alarm). Plus, the breakfast options are mediocre (muffins are always stale) and since I booked through Egencia for work, the hotel won't allow me to get Starwood points for my stay. I'm trying to think of a reason to come back, but I'm coming up short.

The staff at the Aloft was very accommodating. The environment was nice enough for business, yet relaxed and hip enough for this blue collar vacationer to feel quite comfortable. The location was great with restaurants, bars, bowling, movie theater, bus station,etc. all within a 5 minute walk. Overall, I had a great experience and would certainly go back. Check out the funky floor tiles in the elevators!

We checked into this hotel late on a Saturday night. We were unfamiliar with the area, but this is clearly more a place to stay if you're going clubbing, or want to pregame/host an afterparty in your hotel room. If you're not (we just wanted to get some sleep), it might not be the place for you.
The rooms were clean, nice, and what I would expect from an Aloft (although that includes the standard gross body gel that always spills out from the dispenser all over the shower floor). The room was extremely loud--mainly street noise, even though we were on the 7th floor, but also noise from other guests. I live in New York City and am generally able to sleep through any noise, but this was excessive even for me.
Most importantly, when we got to our floor after checking in, there was a gentleman passed out in the hallway. Not a great start to the evening. That morning, we saw that he had apparently vomited all over the floor. While that was 10:00am the next day, it hadn't yet been cleaned up.
We brought our dog, and appreciate that the hotel allows pets with no additional fee. However, the website advertised some treats, a dog bed, and other pet perks, which we weren't offered.
Overall, I guess it was a good deal considering the room and the price, but I probably would not stay here again.

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at the Aloft and the the staff made our experience there excellent. From check-in to check-out the front desk staff was excellent. Katie (Catering Sales Mgr) and Chad (Food/Bev Mgr) were perfect in helping us put together such an important event in our life. I would like to say "Thank You" to the entire staff for our excellent experience.

My husband and I chose the Aloft Uptown in Charlotte for our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful stay! Our room was spacious, and it had a beautiful view. Access to the Epicentre is a great advantage of this location.
We received exceptional service from Yvonne and from D.
This hotel is now one of our favorites. We are looking forward to our next visit to the Aloft in Uptown Charlotte!

My husband and I stayed on a Sat. night with our small dog.
The Aloft hotels have a great pet policy but I would not consider this hotel pet friendly. It is loud and crowded with no place to walk your dog.
The location is close to bars and restaurants but it is pretty clear this hotel is "the party hotel". It even felt like we were checking in at a club. We saw numerous bachelorette party groups. The party lasts all night long....with the added bonus of drunk people in the halls waking you up.
Our room was small with an uncomfortable bed. We personally are not fans of Aloft's decor. The bathroom is awkward. There is a lot of street noise easily heard in the room.
We used the parking garage rather then valet. It worked for us because we didn't leave until checkout but it could be a problem because the garage filled up quickly and you pay each time you use it. It's not marked clearly as hotel parking.

The hotel claims the rooms are minimalist and they sure have that one right. This is a very basic room. There's no comfortable seating aside from the bed and the desk/work space is very small. The rooms were not very clean and they same is true of the workout facility. some of the equipment was broken and the facility did not appear to service the facility aside from emptying the trash.

We spent a perfect Valentines weekend here. The room and the hotel's location are perfect for enjoying a romantic time in the heart of Charlotte where restaurants and entertainment options are plentiful. The room was quiet, the bar is fantastic, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning again soon. The only bad thing was the pool was closed for repairs.

Had a great stay at Aloft. The location is perfect for access to uptown offices as well as dining/nightlife. Rooms are simple, but nicely appointed; Bliss toiletries smell nice; complimentary water bottles a very nice touch. Bedding was a bit lumpy, but I understand it's in process of being changed. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
