Rated 1 out of 5 by gross I checked into this hotel mid evening Monday and immediately went out with work colleagues. I returned around 2am to my room. The next morning, I realized the toilet was not working and informed the staff (an african amercian young lady working at the check in). She was "busy" talking with a group of other people and I had a feeling she wouldn't remember, however she did take my room number. I returned to my room that night around midnight to find the toilet was not fixed. I checked out a day early the next day. August 8, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location The hotel is located right in the heart of everything that is happening in downtown Charlotte. Was able to walk to my meetings on Tryon Street and walk to dinner at 5Church. After was able to go to various bars and clubs (went to Bubbles) that were in the epicentre complex. The hotel staff laminated two of my business cards into bag tags, which was a neat touch I've never seen before. Think the only missing is more food options outside of the Fuel lounge (but you have tons of options if you walk out of the hotel). August 6, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by The party lasts all night long My husband and I stayed on a Sat. night with our small dog. The Aloft hotels have a great pet policy but I would not consider this hotel pet friendly. It is loud and crowded with no place to walk your dog. The location is close to bars and restaurants but it is pretty clear this hotel is "the party hotel". It even felt like we were checking in at a club. We saw numerous bachelorette party groups. The party lasts all night long....with the added bonus of drunk people in the halls waking you up. Our room was small with an uncomfortable bed. We personally are not fans of Aloft's decor. The bathroom is awkward. There is a lot of street noise easily heard in the room. We used the parking garage rather then valet. It worked for us because we didn't leave until checkout but it could be a problem because the garage filled up quickly and you pay each time you use it. It's not marked clearly as hotel parking. Rated 5 out of 5 by Everything was perfect The thing that impressed me the most was the entire staffs willingness to go out of their way to make ALL of their guests comfortable.I noticed it in every area of the hotel. Not only were they efficient ,but their kindness and smiles made feel feel VERY WELCOME.Its apparent that it is a mission that is important to this Aloft.THANK YOU July 30, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fun place to stay This is a great place to stay if you plan to take advantage of the night life and local atmosphere. Being in the heart of the Epicenter, you are within steps of several great night spots and numerous great places to eat. Not the kind of place for a quiet, romantic weekend, or a weekend with small children, but perfect for bachelor/bachelorette parties, reunion events and couples who enjoy being out and about! Rated 5 out of 5 by awesome Great location and price! No late check out tho but we understand. (There was a concert evening before.) July 29, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible hotel staff and points program Never will stay at this hotel again, or at any starwood hotel. Incompetent staff who can't handle reservations, and cannot enter correct names on reservations. Hotel definitely not worth the money! Stay somewhere else, and pick a different chain of hotels! Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Location I have stayed at the Aloft Epicenter a few times now and have found it to be an excellent value and within walking distance to everything. The rooms are basic (which goes with a "loft" design) and comfortable. I love all the healthy snack and dining options available in the lobby. FYI - Aloft offers a discount gym pass to the Golds @ Epicenter for those fitness buffs that what something a little more hardcore than the excellent gym on property. The front desk staff is excellent and provides great customer service. I will be back! July 4, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by Displeased I frequently travel to Charlotte for business, and I've stayed at the aloft several times. Yesterday evening at 11:45pm, an employee barged into my room without knocking. I had the do not disturb sign hung on my door, but he did not even knock. He claimed that he thought the room was empty and that he was checking no one was in the room. I found this extremely rude and disturbing. Not only was I about to go to sleep, but he had no regard for the do not disturb sign. I would hope that someone would inform the employees not to enter rooms without knocking. In addition, when I checked into my room, there were 2 black hairs on one of the beds on the sheet near the pillow. As mentioned before, I've stayed at this hotel several times and have never had these issues before. June 26, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by This hotel needs to pay more attention to cleaningness The hotel is in need of serious maintenance. The lobby stand is old when you check in. The carpet in front of the elevators needs constant vacuuming. It was full of particles on the floor. Not a welcoming sight. The room very dusty. I looked at the door hinges and its a cobweb of dust. The edges on the table full of lint and dust. The chair in the room had stains. I was sneezing non stop from all the dust. I had to check out the next day. The staff was very friendly and professional. This is below SPF standard of cleanliness. Bed was comfortable but all the frames needed to be cleaned. June 26, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by loud hotel! i liked the hotel and amenities but the location is LOUD. i would avoid this hotel in the future because the noise level from the Epicenter is too much. May 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Waiting at the elevator... Location, service, room was good. However, the elevator to get from the lobby on 5 to street level is ridiculously slow! One of 2 elevators was out of service during my stay. Was there on business so waiting in the morning to get out of the hotel was very stressful. May 24, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very basic room The hotel claims the rooms are minimalist and they sure have that one right. This is a very basic room. There's no comfortable seating aside from the bed and the desk/work space is very small. The rooms were not very clean and they same is true of the workout facility. some of the equipment was broken and the facility did not appear to service the facility aside from emptying the trash. Rated 2 out of 5 by Nothing great. Room layout was very strange. Prefer a more traditional layout. Room with 2 queens was rather small. Heating/cooling was horrible as the thermostat was right next to the heating/cooling unit! Had to leave a note for housekeeping asking them to vacuum the floor because it had not been vacuumed after the first night. Really missed having room-service. Had to follow-up with hotel staff 2-3 times before requests were taken care of. May 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Stay. Stayed for the Band of Horses concert at the Fillmore. 6-dollar cab ride to the music factory! Nice, clean rooms and great location. May 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Service The ice machine was out when I checked in at 5pm on Thursday May 2nd. The gentleman at the front desk offered to bring the ice to my room. It was great to see him go out of his way to make sure that I was taken care of. Later when I needed a cab, he also called a cab company for me. May 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by loved the people This was a great stay. All the staff were really great from the front desk to your cleaning personnel. FYI - I didn't check the boxes below related to food, spa, etc because I didn't use them. April 29, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Room was very noisy Could hear people in next room, people in hall, and HVAC units outside April 29, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Thought it would be cool, but instead. Uncomfortable Not worth the money. Any side facing the outdoor mall will have beat music to 3am. Surprisingly for Starwood, the beds were uncomfortable. The thermostate would only go down to 68 but felt like 75. Left property day early. Staff apologized and threw a few Spg points Would not go back April 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great option in Charlotte Stayed here to attend NBA basketball game with young son. Great location. Staff friendly. Had issue with left item in room that hotel resolved once brought to their attention. Stayed in multiple Aloft properties and this is one of best given good staff attitude & location. April 20, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hotel is Modern and Fun Loved the ambience of this hotel. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. I will definitely be staying here in the future. April 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great location This was the perfect location for my recent business trip - could not have been better. The fitness center was great - it was always empty when I was using it, but it was always clean and ready to use. April 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best SPG place to stay in Uptown When you hear the cliche, location, location, location, you might not understand how valuable that is in travel. I just left the Aloft Uptown Charlotte last Saturday & I'm wishing I was still there today. Centrally located with numerous dining & entertainment options, the Aloft is an original & hip selection for Charlotte that feels like home. You can walk down & get tix for the latest concert with no concert fees or simply take the elevator downstairs & have award winning wines at Flemings. The room itself is like a studio apartment, swank and comfy; a perfect getaway. I also love the movies with food n drink in the Epicentre & the bicycle rentals in town~the perfect place to stay! Rated 5 out of 5 by location, location, location I enjoyed my stay at this location. Epicenter is nice. April 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Don't Be Exclusive! I understand and appreciate the target of your hotel's customers. But you need to understand that you cannot be exclusively prejudice to which you are! I have never had a latte, or any other of that stuff. In fact the texting feature of my cell phone is turned off. So when I went to get a 'Complimentary' coffee, there was nothing in English in the snack bar area I could discipher! I am not Spanish, French, and only speak English. Where was the complimentary COFFEE!? April 5, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unacceptable Service Our room was located beside a stairwell. The door slammed all night startling me awake each time. No carts for luggage were to be found which proved difficult with bags and a small child. Then to top it off, valet was AWFUL. We waited 10 minutes for the front desk to get someone on the phone to let them know that we wanted our car, It was cold and raining so we waited downstairs in front of the elevator another 15 minutes until a man wondered around asking us for money for food. Not feeling safe with a small child, we moved on outside to the valet booth. We waited another 10 minutes for our car outside and the valet's response to where is my car...We had 9 calls at the same time and yours is last! When the car finally arrived, the attendent driving it gets out and states that there is a problem. He had to slam on the brakes and the red fruit punch drink in my daughter's cup holder flew all over the car. He never apologized or offered to help me clean it up! He went and got in another car and was off. Unacceptable!!! I called the general manager twice and left messages. I am still waiting for him to call me back. I will never stay at Aloft again! Rated 3 out of 5 by Why Very noisey; wanted to stay one more night, I was told they were all sold out, but then found out I could stay if I wanted to pay $209, but couldn't use my Starwood Preferred Guest points. Call Starwood.SPG they wouldn't help. This is the third time in 3 months I've encountered a problem using SPG. March 25, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by not customer-oriented We requested to check in early because we needed to get ready for a wedding across town. When we arrived at 2pm, not only were they unable to do so, they couldn't even tell us if we could check in by 3pm, which is the DESIGNATED CHECK IN TIME because there were 7 people ahead of us! No one explained the valet situation until we parked on our own and found out the valet cost and overnight cost was the same except you had in/out privileges with valet. The lounge was cute but nauseating because the scents were way too strong; the beds were ROCK HARD I went numb sleeping on them. It was also surprisingly LOUD even though we were on the seventh floor, we could hear all the noise from the streets. There was also someone playing loud music all through the night and nothing was done about the noise. We will definitely stay elsewhere when we come back to Charlotte. The saline indoor pool would have been cool had I had the time to try it. March 25, 2013
