I've stayed here many times over the years, however staying here once or a bunch of times makes no difference to your experience. Everything is always the same. Which is not a bad thing, in this case.
To all the Platinum guests I want to say expect nothing from any Alofts, this being no exception. There is no free anything (other than internet) and the hotel only has rooms so no suite upgrades either. Also, you only get 250 SPG bonus points at check-in. If you can get over these things, then you'll have a clean ROOM at a decent price (sometimes) and a friendly staff with a nice little lobby with a cool bar and a pool table too!
Also it's a 5 minute bus ride from the Airport which is good and bad (noise) but once you are in your room you can barely hear it with the TV on! :)
So, stay here if you are either in town for a night or don't want to spend too much money. However you are a 20 minute drive from downtown via highway. So if you plan on taxing anywhere, it will cost you.
This hotel meets the category 3 expectations.

Extremely comfortable beds and spotlessly clean room - exactly what was needed after a very delayed late arriving flight into a snowy Montreal airport. The free shuttle bus service from the airport was very efficient once Porte 10 was located and check-in at the Aloft was very speedy and straightforward. The room was large with great facilities and despite its location, totally silent and the blackout blinds did their job! The shower toiletries provided meant that we only needed to unpack our toothbrushes before falling into bed which was perfect. Waking up too late for breakfast (after 10am) meant that the good range of 'take away' food available including fresh fruit and yoghurt was much appreciated. The Réception staff were very helpful, contacting the car hire company and arranging a drop off service in record-breaking cold temperatures and a very special thank you to Gabriela for all her help in returning a cable that we left behind. Amazing service and a fantastic hotel.

I stayed at this hotel twice in one week and feel less than satisfied with both my stays. I have stayed at Alofts in the past so I had a reasonable idea of what to expect when I reserved this hotel. The first room I stayed in had 2 wireless phones that did not work. It was impossible to call to set a wake-up call and calls to my room could not be answered. Also, I am annoyed when the thermostat is set in Fahrenheit- we are in Canada, metric is the standard...but more to the point, the heater in both rooms could not warm the room adequately. I felt uncomfortable in both rooms I stayed.
Also, would it hurt to provide two bars of soap instead of one? One for the shower and one for the sink? The other thing I would suggest is to properly seal the glass door in the shower. Every time I took a shower there was a huge puddle of water on the bathroom floor. Yes, I had a towel on the floor but it's a real annoyance to walk into the floor afterwards wearing socks and have wet feet.
I am a platinum member with SPG and have been for the last 7 years. I like Starwood properties because they get the little things right- but this Aloft property really missed the mark.

We arrived and were greeted with attitude and given the feeling we were disturbing the lady at the counter. We were told the restaurant was closed, there was no room service and we had to go across to the sheraton to eat, and when we did it was closed. The room provided was average, not what was advertised when I made the reservation. The coffee machine was broken, and we were told they would "check it". In the meantime the coffee in the lobby was 2.50$ a pop. Hopefully that coffee machine is not charged on my credit card! Anyways, with the ammount of hotels available, its surprising that people would want to go back there.

Imagine the show Cheers, where everybody knows your name. This place makes you feel like you never left home.
I just love this place. The word no is not in anybody's vocabulary. From the Manager "Andrea" to Front desk "Dara" big Kudos to everyone. When I come to Montreal this is my choice Hotel even if they have no suites to accommodate Gold and Plat members! It's all about Service, 2 thumbs up!!

Rated 2 out of 5 not a hotel for kids
the kids where disappointed with this hotel.they were
not able to swim in the pool because of the high chlorine content nor could the parents sit around the pool area because of the chlorine. there was a pool table in the lounge area that the boys enjoyed the first night but were not allowed the 2nd night.WHY,...the kids were supervised the whole time.when we asked to talk to the manager ,we were told she wasnt in only to find out that we were talking to her.the kids will be picking the hotel again next year but it wont be this one
