I love Aloft hotels but this experience changed my mind. The hotel lobby was being renovated I guess the entire time I was there. The bar was closed and there was dust everywhere. I wish I would've received an email stating this was going to happen and so I could change my mind. I was in Brooklyn for a business meeting and it was so upsetting to come back to the hotel with construction in the lobby. The front desk staff wasn't very friendly either. Next time I'm in Brooklyn, which is pretty often, I'll stay elsewhere,

MY HOTEL STAY WAS GOOD AND I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN. HOTEL STAFF WERE VERY NICE AND FRIENDLY. UPON CHECK IN I WAS TOLD OF THE ROOFTOP LOUNGE WHICH I LOOK FORWARD TO. i WAS EXCITED TO CHECK OUT THE VIEWS OF THE CITY WHILE HAVIING A RELAXING COCKTAIL. i WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS OPEN TIL 12 ON THURSDAY BUT WHEN I TRIED TO ENTER AT 10:30 IT WAS CLOSED. THEN I WAS REFERRED TO THE BAR NEXT DOOR WHICH WAS ALSO CLOSED. THE STAFF THERE THEN REFERRED ME TO DOWNTOWN MANHATTEN FOR DRINKS WHICH I DID BUT THE TRAVEL WAS NOT CONVIENENT.

Perfect location for visiting my son at LIU. Lots of funky features in the lobby and elevators - the squishy floors are fun to play on while in the elevator. Room was large. I liked that the toilet and shower had a separate area from the sink. I had problems with finding a nice balance with the thermostat - it was either blowing cold or hot Couldn't find a happy medium, but that was probably my ignorance. Overall, very pleased with my stay.

We were enjoying our trip until we had to get our car from the valet service and everything went sour after that! They had left our lights on while we were there, drained our battery and then told us it was our fault, not theirs. We eventually had to get the car towed to get a new battery and alternator installed at a place that was luckily open on a Sunday afternoon. 6 hours after we handed in our ticket to get our car, we were finally on our way home to CT. Liked the hotel but the valet service ruined our trip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BrooklynWanderer For a place in NY, this is...
...worth what it asks for in payment.
I stayed there to establish myself during the first week of my stay in Brooklyn, with other friends staying in downtown and midtown Manhattan at the same time, and comparatively - for the same price per night - this place offered better (and bigger sized; much bigger sized!) rooms, better amenities, friendlier staff, and so on...
This one's worth considering for those who wanna discover Brooklyn.
Having said that, aside from the ugly construction happening right beside it during my stay (they block the road, et cetera), which the hotel has no control over, there are two drawbacks: 1) At night, it can get too noisy (music from the bar?), which is saying much since I could still hear the thump-thumping noise even if I'm on the 19th floor (!); and 2) At night, when you feel like grabbing chow, only the hotel's resto remains the choice, since outside, everything's dead (surprising since it's in downtown Brooklyn).
In the end, and simplistically speaking, if you want a room not too far from Manhattan that has some real space (again, comparatively speaking), consider this. If you want a claustrophobic box to stay in (for the same price), stay in Manhattan...

Rated 3 out of 5 by ImpulsiveKim The construction in the area is awful
I stayed on the fourth floor of the hotel. There's nothing like waking up to not only construction noises but also to construction men who can see directly into your room.
As a result, my sleep was interrupted earlier than I wanted. With the construction happening next door, I should have been told at check-in what to expect.

Tonya was an exceptional host. I can't thank her enough. She handled long lines with grace. She had a constant smile. Her willingness to help was unmatched. She is top talent.
Ryan the engineer... Was wonderful...he walked me to juniors when I arrived to hotel late. So nice!!!
On the flip side... My room was quite stained. I had no iron or board. The rooms look really good in pictures but my room seemed cheap at a closer look.
Overall the service was so wonderful... I would recommend this hotel.

Everything was great. I just didn't like the parking. There is self parking, it's 35 a day, which wasn't bad I just believe the private parking people could have been more accommodating for hotel guest. Hotel check out is at 12, but because I parked my car at 9am on the day I checked in, the parking people expected my car to be out by 9am on checkout or they were going to charge me $10 every half hour.
Other than parking my stay was great. I will be staying here again when I return to Brooklyn.

I stayed a A Loft for business. I was thoroughly impressed with my overall experience, Every member of the staff was wonderful! The room was comfortable, clean and modern. My collegues and I loved the lobby area. It was too cool with a bar, conversation areas, and even a pool table. If I visit again, this would be my only choice!!! Thank you!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Katvin Clean and tidy hotel with minimal features
The room was clean and tidy with basic amenities. It would have been a pleasant stay if the staff would have warned me of the cons in staying on the top few floors. I wasn't notified that the music from the rooftop bar/club would affect rooms on the top floors. And when later in the evening, I had to request for a room change and no king-sized bed room was available anymore at that time and I had to change into a double Queen-sized bed room. Apart from that my stay in the hotel was pleasant.

I stayed your hotel 4days. I accepted your green campaign. You cleaned my room just one time. When i checked out, i said you that fact. But your staff denied and she said cleand room daily, and i expected..Your staff was very unkind, Eventually manager agree giving points. But points are not reflected. Now points are not important. That staff was veri unkind when i checked in.. I never lleid. But your staff lied. Moreover i staied in hotel all day long 26. july. Nobody came in my room.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rena11 Lobby needs improvement
The chairs were stained and dirty. I think locals hang out for hours at a time to socialize and use the computers.
House keeping did not take out trash or refill coffee supplies when the green room notice was used. Sheets were not changed when we wanted them cleaned. There was no "card" to place on the bed to communicate what was needed..
The bed was wonderful and the staff was very helpful!

Our stay was very pleasurable. The staff very cheerful and accommodating. We requested that our rooms be together and they did accommodate us. The room was very nice and clean. We slept very well in the comfy beds! Hated to leave! Will definitely return and recommend Aloft to family and friends.

Very good value for the money spent. NYC are always small, but these rooms make a good use of space and are CLEAN. Do not expect an amazing view from your room. But who cares! You can hop on the train and be in Manhattan to see any view you want in minutes. Do not expect high-end furnishings (I haven't seen that much veneer in a while). What you will get - will a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom with great products, and friendly, helpful staff. What more do you want for $100/n?!

Rated 4 out of 5 by WisconsinMike Great value, location not great
The hotel itself is great - efficient use of square footage, quality construction. The rooftop garden bar was never available due to private parties and very limited hours. The neighborhood is in the middle of downtown Brooklyn, which is rebuilding, and not even close to the classy shopping of Manhattan. Go a few blocks and you can find shops and restaurants that provide the "Brooklyn charm". If you want a price performer, and plan to take the subway to the city, this is for you.

The manager, William and the staff, in particular, Barbara were more than terrific! I mention those two but everyone was absolutely GREAT! We booked about 50 rooms and all of our guests were thrilled with the comfort and the feel of the place. many mentioned that the staff were terrific. I think it all has to do with the team William built.
When you plan your daughter's wedding, you appreciate results like this! Thnk you William and team!!!! you made me look good!!! Don

Rated 3 out of 5 by Skoozie Less than expected
The hotel is in an awkward location and dust offer the amenities I would have expected. The staff was not friendly and did very little to ensure satisfaction. Problems and requests were not addressed promptly if they were addressedat all. The rooms had stained carpet and poor TVs. Finally when I asked if there was anywhere or anything I could use to charge an iPhone I was looked at like I asked for a million dollars and told no. In this day and age that is unacceptable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Keith1 Hotel is Nice, but service is not
My requested room was not available..Had friends that slept on floor as a result. Staff very unaccommodating. Had to Call customer support for help. Very disorganized. Painted lobby while I was there which left only 1 elevator working and no access to stairs. Waited on 2 separate occassions for at least 30 minutes to get downstairs. Just a mess. Customer Support got me in my requested room the next day and refunded one night, but by that time..my stay was ruined.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Andrewmac 1 issue that causes me to NOT come back again
As an individual who loves Starwood Hotels, we were a bit dissapointed with 1 aspect of our recent stay, the Air Conditioner. The hotel sets a maximum of 65 degrees on the A/C and there is no ability to keep a fan running on the unit either. I have alergies and I need consistant airflow. This made for a terrible nights sleep. I'll never stay here again because of this reason. As long as you don't have AC issues, this is a great hotel with friendly helpful staff.

We just spent 4 nights at your lovely Aloft hotel in Brooklyn. Your facilities are very nice. Unfortunately , on Sunday morning May 5th, the day we checked out, there was NO HOT WATER in our room. I mention this to the young lady when I checked out and was told there was no hot water in the hotel. No "Sorry for your inconvenience" , "No we're very sorry, but if you have time here is voucher for breakfast" This was my first stay at Aloft and could be my last.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MM14 Second Stay Was Not As Good As First
The $45 valet parking fee is just NYC area pricing, but to be out of fruit for breakfast is not OK. I had the staff call my room at 2 AM to inquire if I ordered food, then another wrong call later in the morning looking for a completely different room number. Staff was generally friendly so that was good, but a step down from what I experienced my first stay at this property a month ago. I will give them the benefit of doubt and assume it was an off week.

Rooms were modern but too smalll hallways were very narrow, must walk single file. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Thought it was rather expensive for the room size. Was there for a wedding nearby, so didn't use any of amenities.

This was the first stay at an Aloft hotel for my wife and I and we can't stop talking about! We enjoyed the overall atmosphere, accommodations and location but the level of service, specifically from Barbara Rosa, was unprecedented. We found her to be courteous, helpful and just an overall pleasure to see everyday. She gave us great 'can't miss' ideas for NYC and helped us navigate the subway system. Loved staying at this place, can't wait to go back!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Blobbyhead Nice stay with flaws
Reception was clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. Checking in on a Friday afternoon and paying for a coffee on Saturday mornning took an ETERNITY. Also elevator capacity is insufficient. Another ETERNITY passed to get down from the 12th floor on a Saturday morning. Rooms very nice and decently sized (which is to be expected for $375 a night).
By the way... my SPG Gold Card was totally ignored. Aloft staff acted as if Alkoft was not part of Starwood.

I'm a SPG platinum member and I have received the worse service and accomadations at this location. I have been staying at this location for the past month and I had the experience of my room not being cleaned on a daily basis in addition to having to deal with staff giving me a hard time when make request like having someone come to my room to fix my air in the middle of a hot summer day.
