Aloft at Domain is very noisy, particularly if your room faces the street. The outdoor bar in the front kept me up until past 1am, and the garbage truck came by every morning at 4:30am to empty the big bins. The room's heating/cooling unit was a standalone unit under the window that was so loud I had to turn it off at night... consider how bad it must have been to turn off the A/C in Texas. I checked with several other guests and they had the same complaint. Lastly, there is no restaurant, and the breakfast servery areas is little more than a coffee machine and open-front refrigerator from which you can purchase very expensive prepack food.
Aloft is a neat concept, the room was immaculately clean and decorated nicely, but if you can't get a decent night sleep due to noise, what good is the room? I will not stay here again.

My family and I were thoroughly impressed with the hotel, which says a lot because I have worked in hotel F&B and still work in facility management. This place is top notch, comfortable, and very friendly and helpful staff. The location in the Domain is also great because you can walk around the shopping/dining area and if you need to head downtown you're there in 10-15 minutes.

Wonderful hotel. Great service. Lots of amenities. You can walk to everything locally or get on the shuttle. Very happy with our stay. Will definitely come back.

This is a great location and there are excellent restuarants/bars around. The staff were so helpful and very friendly. Maryann was a shining example to the hotel. Fitness Center is good and feel-good factor of the hotel is top notch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ari1357 This hotel is perfect for either the holiday or business traveler.
The hotel is in a perfect location, central and convenient either to downtown or to the suburbs. Everything is maintained in very good order, and the staff are excellent.
Returning to the staff, I can say I have never met a more friendly and helpful group of employees; and I have stayed in 5 star hotels so this is an informed opinion.
Sorry, I cannot help it, I must take this opportunity to give special praise to Will who,
after I had returned my own rental car, rushed me to a pharmacy and waited for me, when a member of my family became dehydrated.
Yet while Will deserves special praise, the entire staff was as helpful and friendly as can be. I cannot rate the Aloft any higher. While it may be smaller than it's sister property down the street, it more than matched it for level of service, convenience, and friendliness.
But perhaps the best recommendation I can give to the Aloft Austin is simply this: I have
another reservation to stay there next month.

My first trip to Austin was this past weeked, for a dog walk. We started our stay at a different hotel and had an awful experiance. The water pressure in our shower did not work AT ALL!!
We called twice and even went down to the desk to have someone come fix it, but no one cared enough to fix our shower or move us to a different room. We almost packed up and went home with out enjoying Austin to the fullest.
Untill we called, "Aloft Austin at The Domain" and had a wonderful stay!
Both our dogs were over the 40lbs limit, but the general manager approved us to stay, and not only that we got our room over the phone for the online price, the staff were absoulty wonderful and the hotel was beautiful, comfortable and clean.
They saved my trip to Austin.
I cant thank them enough for that!!

I had a wonderful time and the staff was
excellent. I want to especially thank Will who
when my service animal became dehydrated rushed me to a pharmacy.
My service animal is small and we were unused to the temperatures in Austin.
The helpfulness of the staff probably saved her life.

At check in I was welcomed by one of the most efficient and friendly reception desk people I've seen in a long time. It was busy yet he handled everyone well, and perfectly checked me in, informative and friendly. I felt welcomed, and in fact I then asked a favor, I needed some documents scanning and emailing across. He offered to help without hesitation, and in fact when the documents were scanned and emailed to me, he'd taken the trouble to neatly arrange them, and put on the same file. I joked he had 'OCD' as it was such a neat job. He's a real credit to the Starwood team and deserves a huge thanks for the efforts he puts in.
