Rated 3 out of 5 by Sleepy Noisy
Liked the hotel w/the exception of not being able to sleep due to the noise. Our room faced the river and every time a car drove over the bridge we would hear it- the wheels hitting the metal grate. Not a problem until trying to sleep.
Additionally, our room wasn't cleaned during our stay. We came back to the room at about 5pm to shower & freshen up and it was at that time the maid service came to clean.

no restaurant; no room service; no chair in the room to sit on to relax; only an uncomfortable desk chair; no radio; noisy air conditioner; towels could use some fabric softeneres; more towels woudl be nice - every day i asked for additional towels; shampoo + conditioner in one doesn't work well; body lotion tube is too small to last for even one day; too few tv stations available

My wife and I spent a terrific weekend here. Great location, modern designs. All in all great - though it does appear that there are many bachelorette parties that use it as a base,

Rated 3 out of 5 by jjj5 Nice Facility, Poor Construction
The stay started out great until the guests in the rooms next to us and across from us came back. We could hear every single word they said and everything they did at 2 and 4am waking us up both times.
I would recommend asking for a room with NO one across the hall and no one in the room next to you.
I don't plan on returning and wished I wouldn't have stayed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DawnT Best Pet Hotel in Milwaukee!
Excelent hotel with a great location. The decor is very fun and vibrant. If you are traveling with your pet you will find no better hotel in Milwaukee. They really do cater for pets .... included in the stay you get a dog bed, treats, waater and food bowl... and all at no extra charge. The staff are very outgoing and friendly too! I highly recomend this hotel.

My friends and I stayed at the Aloft for one night this pas weekend. We had an amazing day! The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating to our needs (particularly Johnny at the front desk.) I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!

I have stayed at many Starwood properties but this was my first stay at an Aloft. This hotel was very clean, decorated beautifully, located near some great bars and restaurants and the staff was very friendly and more than accomodating. I will definitely be planning a trip back to the great city of Milwaukee soon and book my room with the Aloft.

This was our 2nd visit to aLoft in Milwaukee, while we had some issues on our first stay, this one wiped out all bad memories. The Hotel Management (Ryan M) asked us to give them another try. We had a great stay, in a great room. The bar w xyz had wonderful drinks! Good atmosphere. The Valet guys were also the best!

The staff at aloft Milwaukee took care of everything my wife and I needed. Along with the great customer service, the hotel is located walking distance from the Bradley Center and Water Street bars / restaurants. I strongly recommend staying at aloft Milwaukee the next time you are looking for a place to stay in downtown Milwaukee.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MM14 Very Good Location and Value
The overall hotel experience is what you would expect from an Aloft. The rates are good and the staff was eager to please.
I would like to see some upgrade to the breakfast sandwich station ( real eggs ). There is construction going on outside the property, but it is still worth staying at. I plan to return many times.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mrod Better lounge service
The bar top at wxyz was full so I sat in the lounge to order some food and drinks. However the bartender never acknowledged me even after walking by me as I looked at the menu. So I went back to my room and didn't spend any of my money at the lounge.
If I needed to order at the full bar, it should be posted somewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MJ66 This hotel is within walking distance.
This hotel is in close proximity to many different things that you can walk to. Once our vehicle was parked we did not need it until we left. Bartenders were very friendly and gave us ideas of things to see and do during our stay.Met our needs perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mel444 An overall great experience
We only stayed for one night, and we cannot wait to go back. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous. The location was close to a lot of food/bar options. The room was very comfortable. A great size, and great design. Overall, a wonderful experience, and we will definitely be staying at the Aloft again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by LouisNotImpressed Wanted to like it better
Having stayed at Alofts elsewhere, I was expecting much better. But we stayed on a floor where there was a wedding party, and, possibly because of the "hip" Aloft atmosphere, hallway conversations about drinking went on and on and on into the very wee hours; guest showed very little respect for other guests. (I finally had to go tell them to be quiet and leave.) And the bed sheets were cheap, with the pad bunching up under us all two nights. Sounds petty, but both of these things can wreck your rest.
Also, perhaps because we were traveling with our 25-lb. French bulldog, we were put on the "dog" floor. Yes, it makes sense to put all the dog owners on the same floor, and I was glad Aloft took our dog without an extra security deposit. But it felt a little shabby, and the barking was annoying.
One last thing: I was surprised by the high cost of valet/self-parking ($23/$15). Sure, Milwaukee is a biggish city, but it would have been nice to have been told when I made my reservation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by NicePlaceBut111 Nice Place But...
This is a nice hotel. It's very eclectic and located on the river in downtown Milwaukee. I always request top floor/end unit when I make a reservation but it rarely gets noticed. This place actually read the request I made via the online reservation and made it happen The pool and workout room were great. The lobby has a nice bar and a pool table. We stayed two nights recently. The maid came to our door at 8:30 the first morning. We asked her to come back later and called the front desk to let them know we'd left for the day at 10. The room never got serviced. The toilet and shower are separated from the rest of the room by a door that slides on the outside of the door frame. Even when closed, there are sizable gaps which offer little privacy. There's a kitchen in the lobby with an expansive menu, however, all the items we had were frozen reheats and tasteless and should definitely be avoided. Hence, while this hotel strives to achieve a hip, cool image, it fails at some of the basics.

Rated 2 out of 5 by CanuckTraveler Next time I will stay elsewhere
Very disappointed in my recent 2 nights here. Extremely noisy both from car going over the bridge as well as the construction that is going on all around the hotel. If you are planning on getting any sleep stay elsewhere.
Pillows and sheets were dirty. Staff was not helpful with local area questions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by lp2121 Fairly Noisy
Our air conditioner was not setup to work with the thermostat in the room. I had to manually manipulate the thermostat on the air conditioner which didn't have a temperature setting on it, just a 0 - 10 dial. Also, the air conditioner was way too noisy and woke me up several times during the night.

The hotel has a great vibe to it and plenty of helpful staff waiting to help. The rooms are updated and fun. We loved our stay here, comfy beds, cool views and wonderful location on Old World 3rd St. The Riverwalk, Buckys bar and Lucilles piano bar all a block or so away only. Loved it here!

Hotel felt like a college dorm. This hotel was stark and unkept. There were take out food containers all the way down the hall and staff was unprofessional and did not know the hotel well. My room was not ready on check in and the accomidations were "cheap" sparsely furnished etc

The hotel rate was very reasonable and the hotel was very nice. Room was clean and staff was very helpful. The valet parking price was high. We used a parking garage across the street. ,took the car out 3x and paid less than the hotel price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by cardinalfan2013 overpriced parking
I enjoyed my stay however the $23 valet parking was horrible. They took my car and parked it across the street in what looked like an abandoned unsecure lot. Room was small but was nice. Great location for what I wanted it for the weekend

The room did not meet my expectations. There was no dresser for your clothes. Had to use the bench for suitcases, and I did not find the shower to good. No type of room service or dining area except the bar at night.

It was ok- people were nice; lobby was cool. Took until 5 pm for room to be cleaned and we were waiting in lobby. Really dont like how the sheets dont "grip" the bed- they are everywhere. And the mattress pad was very uncomfortable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ruby6 Will not be going back.
The first impression I had of this hotel was a night club/college dorm appearance. Once we got inside it didn't change. It was very loud and somewhat chaotic, which was probably because we were there on a Friday night and a concert was going on downtown. No issues with the staff. As mentioned numerous times in other reviews, the room gave off a college dorm feeling, with very little privacy, especially where the bathroom was concerned. If you were traveling alone, it wouldn't have been an issue. The whole shampoo/bodywash dispenser set up seems like a cheap way to save money and add on to the freshman dormitory flavor. Plus, you could take the lid off and anyone could put god knows what in there. All of the above are petty complaints, but our biggest issue was a guy who happened to fall asleep on a bench outside of our room. We came out of our room and he was sleeping, with a pile of vomit below him, just a few feet from our room. The hallway stank for the rest of our stay. So, not only did it look like a dorm, but it was run like one. I can see a more rowdy and younger age group liking this kind of hotel, but if you want a classic and old fashioned hotel stay, this is not the place. As was also said in many previous reviews, management doesn’t really care about the negative reviews, as they’re opinions and preferences. Nothing will be changed from a few pessimistic words about a hotel, but it does feel good to vent out ones frustrations about a not so good stay.

Good location if you want to be near night life, lots of great bars and pubs. The staff is nice and helpful. I thought the rooms were a bit small for this part of the country but other wise I would stay there again.
