The room was just the right size , the location was great, the staff helpful and the design of the room was different than most hotel rooms and very attractive.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dawn74 Trendy hotel, lacking in comfort
My teenaged daughter and I spent one night in this hotel. The Pros: excellent location, trendy decor, excellent customer service and staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. The cons: room was noisy and bright. Light filters through glass from shower stall and the mirrored sliding door was very noisy, both issues disturbing the sleep of those still in bed. We could hear everything outside (we had a corner room). Also, we looked forward to swimming in the described "heated" pool. We were disappointed to learn the water was not heated, only the swimming pool room was heated, so we did not choose to swim. Though we did not use the gym, it was well appointed with various machines and free weights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rick24 Great location and staff
I have stayed at the Birmingham Homewood Aloft on many occasions. They have great staff....... which makes it nice from the moment you check in. I like the convenience of their location, adjacency to good restaurants, free parking and easy access from the highways.

Rated 2 out of 5 by KKWaters Good location but has slipped a bit
I found this last stay a dissapoointment. The room 524 had carpet that you could tell there was a stain on it and the toilet did not work at all. Not only did it not flush when you tried to, it also made a lot of noise just to sit on the seat- like something is broken. . I had a quick trip in and out so I told them at the end. I am sure they could fix the flushing part but the other part seems to need an overhaul. The worst part was I had misplaced my car keys and asked them to give the room a thorough check when the housekeepers cleaned it. Well it turns out that my keys were in the safety box in the room (where I put them- my error) and they never opened it. So I figured it out and went back to the hotel and they had checked someone else into the room. So together we were able to get my personal belongings out of the noom. Because of this and I know it is my fault, I did miss my flight. Essentially, they never checked/cleaned the room fully. I had to find a place to stay the night. Apparentally Aloft had to hold rooms for other guests although the gent at the front desk said he had 2 open? So despite being a platinum guest, I had to find lodging elseware. I was really disappointed, the front desk gent was nice but could not help. They did buy me an apple and a banana.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Susan301 Great Stay!
I stayed in the Homewood location for 3 nights. I was attending a wedding in town. I grew up maybe 6 blocks from the hotel. It was great! The area was great! The staff very nice. We had one hick up with hot water on Saturday afternoon. The hotel was quick to make amends. Housekeeping could use a boost. They would forget to finish - left pillows out of the cases the first night and didn't replace coffee. I figured inexperience and it can be corrected. My pup loved it too. We were both comfortable and safe at any time of day we were coming and going. Will be back.
