I have stayed at another Aloft before and found the comfort of the bed acceptable. This stay was like sleeping on concrete. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and the pillows as well. On a positive note, everything else was excellent.

The customer service at the aLoft @ National Harbor was outstanding. I stayed there on New Year's Eve. The staff and serivce was on point and always eager to service the guests.

We decided to go for a suite since the rate was better than rooms in other hotels nearby. Our room is in need of repairs. Walls have damage, door to deck won't lock (chain lock was broken). We'll stay at the competitor next time.

Had a reservation glitch but the manager took care of it right away and was very nice. Lots of friendly and helpful staff at the desk and throughout the hotel; they are proactive in offering help if you are looking for something.

Busy staff, efficient facility....rooms were really "dorm like"...no real closet...pocket bathroom door would not stay closed. It is basic and clean...many families and young people. Neat introduction to this area. GOOD VALUE!!

Imagine if I had received the wakeup call I asked for, I would have rated this hotel higher,
Room was missing a bar of soap when I checked in as well.
Maybe as a business traveller this just isnt a hotel that meets my needs.

The hotel staff has great customer service skills and a friendly family atmosphere.
The only thing is the first thing I could smell everytime I entered our room is mildew from the shower.

The Aloft in National Harbor, MD is simply a comfortable, clean, simple place to stay. The design of everything is fascinatingly functional and "easy going". The views are amazing!

We love this hotel. We received a friendly greeting from every staff member we met. Room was great. The overall experience was fantastic. I have been coming to this hotel for 3 years and each time better than the last.

I loved the atmosphere and the room was nice but the refrigerator was very noisy and the heating unit was loud. The staff was friendly and made my checkin easy. The bed was very comfortable and I would return..

My fiance and I stayed at ALOFT on New Years Eve 2013. The staff was friendly and helpful. I especially loved the sleek, trendy decor. I'd absolutely recommend staying here. The location is excellent, too!

I do not usually give negative reviews because I know how hard the hospitality industry can be. However, in this case I cannot hold back. People stay in hotels to have a place to sleep and wash while away from home, meeting life’s basic needs. When these needs are not met what good is a hotel? Two of the four days I spent at Aloft I did not have hot water. Showers were not enjoyable. When I brought this issue to the staff’s attention they gave me food vouchers to be used at your breakfast bar. What good is that when food is already provided to me through the convention that I was attending? Another issue that this brings to mind is that of equity. The other two people I was traveling with that also had the same hot water problem got their rooms for the two days for free. All I received was some food tickets, how is that fair? I am a staff developer for a high school and book a lot of travel for people. If this is the kind of service Starwood provides I cannot and will not use this company again. I want my people well taken care of and you did not take care of me on this trip.

Had a room with great harbor view and included breakfast in the AM.
Fitness Center is good, but missing a lot of weights - Where did the dumbells go?

Confusion during check in, got locked out of our room and bodily fluid stains on "changed sheets" pretty nasty had to have girlfriend and her son sleep on clothes the next two nights they were grossed out.

I was very disappointed with this hotel room. I felt like it was a complete waste of money. The arrangement of room with the bathroom next to front door was weird. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.

The Aloft clearly went for look over comfort. The hotel has worked hard on its trendy decor, but the room itself left a lot to be desired. The beds were not comfortable, and the pillows were terrible. The chairs in the room looked cool, but when we sat in them, they were not comfortable. Also, there was NO storage space in the room. The "closet" was just some hangers on the wall in the bathroom area, and there were no drawers to put our clothes - just some baskets.
There were some positives. The in-room safe was nice, and the in-shower shampoo and body wash dispensers were great (good products). We also really liked the balcony off of the lobby, very nice with the outdoor fire. I liked the eco-friendly $5 food voucher for not using housekeeping everyday. However, the voucher just made the breakfast affordable because they were charging $5.50 for just a breakfast sandwich, not including a drink!
Overall, the hotel just seemed to be going for a stark, minimalist approach. The hotel looks a lot better in pictures than in person. The only reason to stay here is the location, which is great.

Bathroom tiles are dark and grey and grout looks dirty. The room was damaged with scuffs and marks on the walls. The staff was mildly interesting in my needs and forgot that I checked out early.

I must admit I'm a hotel snob! I stayed here for a weekend getaway with my fiancé' (we live 15 mins away in Fairfax, VA). We do this occasionally and the last time we stayed at the Gaylord. I am not impressed by the National Harbor hotels. I am a fan of the W perimeter and Uptown. But Aloft does the Starwood brand no justice. Its "cheesy" to say the least! The rooms were petite, and I felt like I was sleeping in my 3 year olds room it was so compact. The décor was BLAH at best. Typical for the modern hotels. White bedding with colorful accents. I felt like it was an upgraded DORM ROOM! Katrina at the front desk was very nice and professional. When our first room was below standards she switched it immediately without any problems. So the staff was great! Save your money. This hotel has solidified we are better sleeping at home and the National Harbor is not a good staycay!
The area offers great shopping and restaurants galore. The restaurants are ok! I am a foodie and I'm Trinidadian and Dominican so I love spices. But everyone is different, I just thought they were overpriced for the quality.
