I loved the team at Aloft Chicago! My only drawback was due to street lights in my window made it hard to sleep. But, otherwise it was a great experience!

This was my second stay at Aloft City Center in Chicago and I have to admit, I was hesitant after having a terrible experience in July 2014. I contacted the hotel manager prior to my stay, to express my concerns and received assurance that my New Years Eve stay would be a fabulous, and it was. From the moment we checked in, the staff was delightful and made sure that we had everything we needed. Our room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the city. Every request we had that night was fulfilled and every member of the staff provided exceptional customer service. I even received a note and gift bad from the manager, thanking me for my stay. I am so happy that I decided to try aLoft again and will stay there again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by jleif2188 Great brand, hotel & staff!
I stay in the Aloft Chicago almost every time I come back to the city. You can't beat the area in River North and the brand is modern and trendy. All of the staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful.

The staff was AWESOME! They let us check in several hours early and provided a room on a higher floor per my request. The ladies at the front desk were very pleasant and recognized me as a SPG member. The hotel was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Conveniently located to all the must-see areas. If it wasn't walking distance it was a short cab/uber ride away. Great hotel, great stay! Will stay again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TravelinKen Contemporary Value Priced Hotel in Downtown
I stayed at the Aloft downtown one night and enjoyed my stay. The hotel is very contemporary, new and well maintained and value priced. It’s hip and trendy and the lobby will give you that impression. There is a large circular check in desk and a large seating area on one side of the lobby and a trendy restaurant on the other side of the lobby.
The room was large and designed to be efficient. There was also a little empty refrigerator for guest use which was a nice touch for those who wanted to store cold beverages. The closet area is small so you won’t able to hang a lot of clothes and there is a smaller ironing board which is fine for casual use. Business travelers would be frustrated with this set-up or if you have an extended stay with lots of clothes. There were two desks in my room with plenty of seating so no problem if you need to get some work done while staying at the hotel. There is plenty of space!
The hotel is wonderfully located among many good restaurants in the area and also some casual dining options. You won’t have to walk far to Michigan Avenue either. It’s only about a 5-7 min walk directly up the street. You can also take the red subway line to the hotel and only walk a few blocks once you exit the station.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TaosDave Convenient for Cook County Business
In on a Tuesday for a Wednesday meeting. Staff was very courteous and attentive. Used a meeting room off the lobby for the afternoon which was comfortable, if not a little too warm for the 6 of us. Connecting laptops to TV for viewing info was cumbersome as it was on the wall and in-house staff did not have adequate cabling to reach anywhere but closest end of conference table. Otherwise, the rooms, lunch and staff were excellent and what you would expect from an SPG hotel.
I did not sleep great due to the traffic noise from my 8th floor room,
Pot Roast Sandwich was great!

I've stayed here before; this was just one night. However, check-in, car park (valet), room service were all speedy and just what I was looking for. Nice huge firm bed for great sleep. The city location is surprisingly quiet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GayDC56 great location, responsive staff
we stayed at a property in Richmond, VA and the look and feel of the rooms are the same -- very comfortable, well laid out with lots of space and a comfy bed. Nice to have the water in the room. The one thing that was disappointing (the only thing!) is we never got a call that our room was ready. We arrived early, the staff took care of our bags, and promised to call when we could get to our room. That didn't happen. : ( Otherwise, I totally recommend the hotel -- location is perfect and the setting and style are very handsome. Plus the computers in the lobby work -- and helpful for getting boarding passes printed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bigsmitty Excellent Overall Experience
I am a Starwoods Preferred Guest, but this is my first stay at this hotel. I will stay again. The hotel was everything I hoped for at a great price. The parking was convenient. The front desk was accommodating and helped resolve a potential parking problem. Drinks in the bar were reasonably priced for Chicago. I love the neighborhood with the many excellent restaurants.. Maggiano's across the street is wonderful Italian food. The Weber Grill restaurant is only a couple of blocks away. I loved the Yolk for breakfast, which is about 5 blocks north and slightly west on Wells but well work finding. I look forward to staying again.

My first time staying in an Aloft property and I'll be back! The restaurant served delicious food, amenities are Bliss and the price is fabulous.
The front desk was wonderfully helpful and got me into my room early so that I could make an important event for my daughter. Highly recommend
Bonus is that it's close to the blue line so a train for the airport is possible

Rated 5 out of 5 by JTB23 Great location and service
Best location for weekend get-away, centrally located to touristy spots, Michigan Ave shopping and the Loop. Excellent food, drinks and coffee at Beatrix downstairs and reasonable prices for a hotel restaurant. Staff was extremely helpful and attentive throughout our stay.

Everything was outstanding about this hotel except that when we called the front desk to ask for our car to be retrieved from the $62 valet park and were told 15 minutes, we stood at the door waiting for an extra 20 on top of the 15. The girl at the front desk apparently didn't relate our request to the valets to retrieve the car. They hadn't even started the process until after we had waited for 15 minutes and they figured out we were waiting for our car and not a cab.

This was a great weekend hotel, close to everything, extremely convenient to metro, sights, restaurants. Staff very helpful. Rooms very comfortable, well laid out and well appointed. Very Late night door pounders a bit of a problem on Saturday night, but overall loved our stay at Aloft Chicago City Center. Interior soundproofing not great. And even though we choose green, wish they would replace water bottles and coffee. Overall loved our stay there and highly recommend the restaurant Beatrix downstairs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Hubs Great location but no room to hang the clothes/suits.
Pros: Excellent location in the center of River North, accomodating staff, alot of energy and vibe on the first floor, great for the young professional. Nice desk area.
Cons: Lack of an area to hang your clothes (very small and short space) with only five hangers. Coffee cup lids must be poorly fitted as I (twice) and another co-worker (twice) splilled coffee on our dress shirts and ties. Rooms are not soundproof and noises are plentiful ((suggest turn on auto fan).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dorie52 Great place to stay
Room arrangement and bed very comfortable and accommodating. Beautiful view of Chicago's quaint streets. Feels like it is right in the middle of Chicago's downtown hustle and bustle. The Chicago Fire Department is right close by and although the sirens go off in the middle of the night sometimes, it feels very safe to be there. The staff was very friendly and helpful always. Would certainly stay there again if the opportunity came up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bum434 Disappointment
Having been a loyal SPG member for years, I was disappointed with this property. The room I booked was not available, so we were placed into an a room designed for wheelchairs. The problem with this is, you don't get the nice bathroom you do in a regular room. You get a large room with a flimsy shower curtain that allows water to run all over the place. No glass doors like a normal room so you can enjoy that steam shower if you like.
The bed was extremely hard, it honestly felt like we were sleeping on a piece of concrete.
The rooms absorb all the noise from the hallways, so we were awakened several times throughout the night by loud guests coming and going.
When I emailed my concerns to management, the response I received was "maybe you would be more comfortable at another property". There was no apology, or what can we fix or even an offer of points for the frustration and errors that the hotel had regarding the reservation.
Management had a very flippant attitude about the whole thing.
I can assure you we won't be back to this property based purely on the front desk managers attitude.

Rated 3 out of 5 by schimmy Nice facility and location; rooms so-so
This is an elegant facility, with attentive staff. My only issues with this hotel were with the room itself. The room I was assigned did not seem to block any noise whatsoever from the hallway (was as if folks in the hallway were in my room!). Also, the lights above my bed did not seem to work properly and the water in the shower ran cold at times. It seems like a nice facility; perhaps I did not get very lucky with the room I received.

Your hotel is definitely targeted to a younger crowd and I'm only 53 but I definitely felt old. Customer service was excellent as were the rooms. The only suggestion I have is softer lighting in the bathroom. The florescent light was really harsh and made me look and feel even older. Miight truly be something to consider if you want to keep the older market returning. I know that sounds vain and ridiculous but something to consider.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RhondaB Great downtown Hotel
This hotel was the perfect location. The staff was very helpful, the lobby was cool with their pool tables, free biz center, the restaurant was always busy. Stayed here for vacation and was able to walk everywhere. Never had to take a cab. The beds were so comfortable that when I got home I went out and bought the same brand. Overall an awesome spot!!

Room was clean and efficient use of space. Very pleasant accommodations, although the noise insulation between rooms seemed to be lacking. The people next door were very loud in the middle of the night and there didn't seem to be a buffer to muffle their talking.

Conveniently located. Great atmosphere in restaurant/bar/coffee shop in lobby. Perfect for business in River North area or walking to Michigan Ave. Doesn't have all the frills of a full-service hotel, but most of the time it has everything I want.
