The reception staff assigned my room to another guest, they walk in when I was in the room , safe didn't work battery's needed replacing, my room key stopped working twice during my one night stay.
I paid for full English breakfast, the eggs where dried up, the sausage where poor quality and not browned off, bacon was under cooked, beans where dried up, over all very, very poor quality ingredients

My wife and I had stayed at the Aloft before so knew what to expect. During this stay we had a problem with the room which was dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. We watched the ATP tennis finals at the O2 during our stay and the new cable car connection makes the Aloft a very convenient hotel for that location.
We noticed the hotel is still having problems with the coffee machine in the breakfast area and we hope this will be fixed in time for our next visit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TAnne Everything you need
Everything was clean, comfortable, and convenient. Great for a business stay. The only things I didn't like were that there was little option for vegetarians at the restaurant and some of the things in the room were awkwardly placed. (The shower was weird to open, no towel hooks, no electric plugs by the mirrors, etc.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by Norah1211 Very good facilities
I've stayed three times for business and the facilities are excellent except I find the pillows uncomfortable and the air con even when off is still a little noisy. The shuttle makes it so easy. The staff overall have been really friendly. My only concern is that when I have raised an issue, eg the air con and then no milk in the room, there was no apology or ownership. They are small things but would stop me recommending in the future.

The staff at Aloft London Excel was great! I love their service and willingness to assist with my groups needs. Great place to stay if you have an event at Excel. Take note - there is not much around the area and taxis had a hard time finding its location. If you plan to use taxis, ask the hotel for the postal code to give drivers as the one on the website does not work in most navigation systems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sexyb Fantastic Value for Money
I have stayed at the Aloft several times and never have I had a bad experience. Staff are extremely friendly and polite. The rooms / Walk in showers are great sizes considering how much we pay.
We always have a pleasant stay (the big Plasma Screen and Huge Bed always helps)
Only thing I would say is the restaurant prices are slightly higher than deserved, and parking charges are also too high. However this is understandable due to the location

Great hotel the rooms are the best laid out i have stayed in the internet connection is super fast, the beds are really big and very comfortable with good pillows.
The only small drawback is that it is 20 minutes from city centre but is only 10 minutes from canary wharfe and is perfect for Excel
I have recomended to loads of people and have come back loads of times myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joolish The best hotel so far for a short break in London
I have stayed in several hotels when going to gigs at the O2 arena and this was the best by far.
On this occasion I was with my 18 year old daughter, but I often go alone, returning to the hotel via the underground/DLR relatively late at night and this hotel was perfect for my needs - no subways or dark alleyways to go through, just straight off the DLR and up the steps, across a well lit walkway and into the hotel.
Our room was great and had everything we needed including a lovely clean shower, the comfiest beds and the most effective blackout blinds I had ever seen (I woke up at 9am and thought it was still night time!)
The trip to and from the O2 took about 15 minutes each way (Prince Regent DLR to Canning Town and then one stop on the Jubilee line to the O2)
I won't be looking for a different hotel for my next trip - this one ticked all the boxes!

Rated 4 out of 5 by FDLondon2255 Customer service needs improving.
A very lovely, well designed modern hotel. The rooms were very spacious and cleaned to a high standard. The hotel and all of its facilities are top quality. My only issue is with the customer service. Whenever I needed to speak with a member of staff i.e checking in and out, I felt they were very short with me and didn't come across as though they wanted to be there. There was no eye contact, or any "enjoy your stay", just rude really. Also I was charged £13 for a breakfast I supposedly had but didn't. I was charged for using the re:fuel bar although I hadn't visited it at all during my stay, not for breakfast, lunch or dinner! I pointed this out on check out and I was assured it would be dealt with, so I left assured it would be taken care of. A few days later I see the payment has still been taken from my account. I have tried calling and e-mailing with no reply. This is very very disappointing as the rest of the stay was fantastic and if it wasn't for this incident I would return without a doubt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Carolyn Excellent location for 02 & Excek
Smart and bright room, suitably equipped for a short stay. Exceptionally clean, and big plus that it is a non smoking hotel.
Revive snack bar was limited in selection , but there is a restaurant and other bar. Great gym and pool,
Perfect spot for business travel, use of excel or O2.
Adjacent to DLR Prince Regent stop so very easy commute, and close to London City airport.
Great price for hotel of this standard in London area.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bob6 FUNKIE OR CASUAL
This new, good looking hotel has just opened with a funkie, minimalist theme - I like the idea, but the under trained staff don't seem to know the fine line between funkie and minimalist, to lack of service and casual. There was no show at the Excel, so the place was deadly quiet - I became irritated with the hostility and lack of communication between the hotel and the restaurant - different franchises who don't work together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Belgaschu Nice hotel, but far from what's happening in London
I spent four nights here in October. It was a good room., comfortable and quiet. It overlooked a canal and an airport. While there's little to complain about (I generally don't like the aloft concept...), it is far from London. The hotel is 90 seconds from the DLR platform though. If you're going to be at the eXCel center this is THE place to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by alibobs20 East End Luxury
Didn't know what to expect from this brand of hotel but it was excellent. Lovely to be able to stay out in the East End of London and have such a great place to stay. Will definitely stay there again as it is really handy for the DLR so you can get to Excel, Canary Wharf and O2 really easily. We changed at Canning town for Jubilee Line straight to Green Park which was quick and easy. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 This hotel exceeds expectations
The hotel is great, but also has a superb location.
Staff is exceeding expectations, any help requested by me, they go the extra mile to help and support making the events as good as possible.
Very friendly staff
The only thing that is not exceeding expectations, is breakfast at the FEDE, this is below expectations, better to go for the GRAB and GO option from the hotel itself.
THANKS for the great service!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Freddy111 Cool hotel, ambivalent staff
I stayed here a year ago when the hotel has just openend and check-in was a nightmare. A year later, it was just as bad. Check-in staff were obstructive and lacked any empathy for travellers that had had a long journey.
The hotel istelf is really good, fantastic rooms and a bar that is as good as you'll find anywhere. The affiliated restaurant is pretty good too. Breakfast set up and seating is poorly provided for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Christine666 Great treatment on fifth visit!
The hotel is a bit out of the way but has a good, free shuttle bus which largely makes up for that. The rooms are stylish with nice coffee making facilities but do suffer from very poor mobile phone reception (on O2 anyway).
I just had my fifth visit there and was upgraded to a suite plus given a voucher for a free cocktail - loved them both and they made me feel very special and valued :-)

Rated 1 out of 5 by Suzie373 Excel exhibition attendance
It is a great location for events at the Excel Centre but the room was uncomfortably stuffy. The air conditioning was ineffective and with no opening windows, the room was very hot. The pillows were too soft and the bedding was not changed. Shower pressure not great. I expected room service to be an option within the hotel and it was a real pain to find it was not.

Rated 2 out of 5 Rubbish
This hotel was rubbish, there was plastic in the cups that came on onto the tea.
the fridge was not turned on, when we went down to complain they said we have turn it on and that it is under the fridge but when we were going to turn it on it was behind the fridge,
you think because it is a 4 star hotel it should be turned on.
and the service was rubbish
Im never going to stay at this hotel again

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hugh39 Restaurant Service Vewry Poor
The hotel is excellent value and meets all reasonable expectaions, however on the night we were there the restaurant let the side down badly. It wan't particularly busy but it took 20mins before anyone came to take an order and then a further 35 mins to deliver 2 salad dishes, and that was after chasing them up twice! There only appeared to be one chef in the kitchen - who wouldn't be rushed!

Rated 1 out of 5 The worst one of SPG properties
Afetr staying 4 which was just near the Enights in W London I moved to Aloft that was close to ExCel. That was its only advantage. SPR recognition and service: poor. Breakfast: i could hardly imagine that that was breakfast. I'd better choose any other hotel but this (there were some around). And all of these for 269 pounds per night!!! 5 star W was just 110 pounds more expensive.

Rated 3 out of 5 by john17837 Hotel is average but close to Underground
The hotel is average but was close to the underground transportation system. We had a few issues with the room that were taken care of by the staff on duty after we called the front desk. There was no recognition for being an SPG member when we arrived. The manager took care of us when we had to leave a day early. The only other issue was not receiving a message regarding our luggage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joel32955 Best Kept Secret in London
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was clean, modern, large shower, comfortable bed and was incredibly quiet! Internet worked great. They provided free water every day as a pleasant surprise. Only negative is their little snack bar doesn't show prices and I paid 5 pounds for ice cream and some milk. I think that's way overpriced. Two minute walk to DLR.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Talvez53 General
The hotel itself is modern and fresh ,my issue went to a concert @ O2 and u cannot walk there which is fine, but I was mislead into thinking this was possible.so it's a 20 pound taxi ride there and 20 pound back, you can take cable car there but not back so it's still a taxi job.or the tube which again fine but don't tell people it's this and that, give correct information.

Great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Only downside was restaurant refurbishment, but once re-opened will provide an excellent all round amenity.
