Rated 4 out of 5 Nice Hotel, Great vibe
This was my first stay at Aloft. I did not know what to expect but thought the rooms and staff were up to my expectations. My only problem was a noisy air conditioner that kept waking me up every time it clicked on and off. Turning it off left me with a very stuffy room.
Paying for parking is not unusual in the area but $20 for hotel guests seems a little high.
Overall a nice stay, Ill just bring ear plugs next time.

Staff was very attentive and responsive to all of our needs. Check in and check out was quick and hassle free. Lobby areas were a great place to unwind and relax.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Crichy Noisy Room - slow to change
I was given a room on the 6th floor of the hotel (636). I arrived late and had to be up at 5am for an early flight hence the reason to stay close to the airport. However when i switched off my air con to go to sleep I could still hear a noise. It was like being in an aircraft. I rang reception who explained that although the air con units were not directly above my room these could be the cause and offered to move me to a new room. This was at 12:10am. Nobody came to my room for 35 mins and when they did they moved me to a room 3 down that still had the noise. I had to go down to reception to get moved to yet another new room on the 5th floor which was quiet and comfortable. By this time it was after 1am so I got 4 hours sleep. The staff were polite at reception but there was no offer of a refund or any other concessions. The rooms on the top floor obviously have a problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SFOTraveller Nice SPG edition to the SFO area that needs fine tuning
Shiny new SPG hotel near SFO. Great contempory design.
A couple of shortcomings:
- Parking lot available for general airport parking. Lot was extremely full and it was hard to find a spot anywhere near the hotel entry. Suggest reserving spots for guests! Especially since guests are expected to pay an add'l $20 per day for parking.
- Front desk was understaffed. Waited for 10+ mins to check-in on a Thursday evening.
- Room was very nice. However I was surprised how much sound I could hear from adjacent rooms. You could easily hear guests in the next room raising/lowering the window shades and talking on the phone.
- Shower was pretty lame! Beautifully tiled, glass enclosed shower stall rendered useless by a poor choice of showerheads. Can't understand why a rainfall showerhead is basically flush mounted on the wall??? By the time the water reaches you, it's just a dribble,

Rated 4 out of 5 by travelK Great stay close to the airport.
Short but great stay overnight due to flights. Staff from check in to the bar tender were all wonderful. Having the right staff in the hospitality industry pays off it was reflected in all areas of the hotel. The rooms are contemporary and functional, comfortable beds. Open lobby area makes it feel like a big living room , the fireplace a cosy touch with a nice outdoor and pool area.

Very nice, new hotel that's just about as close to the airport as possible (with frequent shuttle bus).

Rated 4 out of 5 by JLC13 I was Starving
The hotel was clean, staff friendly. The thermostat & A/C unit - clicking on & off was very loud; finally just increased the room temp so it wouldn’t turn on anymore. The main issue I had was that there was no kitchen in the hotel. I thought I could get by with the bar menu, but the “sliders” and tater tots I had there were subpar quality (I think they used a toaster oven). Other alofts have restaurants nearby – this one doesn’t…without a walk over a busy highway on a busy road without adequate crosswalks OR a walk through a couple of sketchy blocks (think industrial suburban). There’s nothing worse than traveling all day and just wanting to crash in your room…and then having no decent food options. I would stay here again, but only if I had a car so that I could drive to get food. The best parts of the hotel: Free WiFi, Free printing, and the safe worked great for my laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Enchanteu Comfortable and great location
Always my 1st choice whenever I am in San Francisco. Amazing staff, from the front desk to the housekeepers. Great location if you are looking for a hotel close to the airport. Comfortable and clean room. The only downside is that this hotel is very close to the threshold of the runway, so do expect a certain level of noise as planes are taking off/ landing every now and then. Overall, a great hotel to stay!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sp123 Disappointing
The rooms are spacious and the bed was comfortable. If you need to fly out early from SFO, it's a convenient place to stay. You can use the computers in the lobby to print out your boarding pass as well. That was the good part. The not so good parts are, if you're staying on the north/east side of the building, it is loud. The hotel is not nearly as sound-proof as it should be when it's that close to the runway.
The food options are terrible, and that is an understatement. Unless your idea of gourmet is McDonald's. There is no room service in the hotel. There are no menu's in the room for what you can buy at the "restaurant" downstairs. So ordering a (terrible) grilled cheese and chicken strips is a 30+ minute project.
FYI - Parking was $20+ for the night
We stayed here because of an early morning flight from SFO, but next time, I'll stay in SF and leave 20 minutes earlier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cindyg605 Everything you need at a great value!
This is our first time at an Aloft. We loved it! It is a very modern hotel and has amenities that other hotels charge for. The rooms are spacious and well designed as well as having personal touches that remind you of the city you're visiting! A 24 hour snack bar and great happy hour selection which include great craft beers on draft make this place my new spot for staying when we visit the city. We had our kids with us, and we wanted to unwind after being in the city all day, so we really appreciated the family friendly lounge/lobby that allowed us to have a beer while they played games.Love the friendly staff and the convenience!
A great safety feature that they have in place is using a technologically advanced room card that you need to get to your floor on the elevator.
I didn't rate the SPG recognition category because it wasn't acknowledged, but it's really not a big deal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by J1atNNV Hotel has lousy parking
The parking lot is controlled by a commercial long term airport parking Co. There are NO dedicated parking slots for hotel customers. On Sat. night there was a function in the bar that had cars double parked all thru the lot.
The room is realy minimal but nice. The shower flow needs to be increased somewhat.
For a full breakfast or a nice sit down meal the best you can do is go next door to the WESTIN.

Rated 3 out of 5 by iwashere ok hotel near SFO
The room was ok. The air conditioner goes on and off constantly. The noise that it made sounder like electric switching gear at a power station and kept waking me up. I just turned the unit off to get some sleep. I did not complain as I was there to relax and work did not wanting any inconvenience. It took two requests for house cleaning sooner that 3pm. It was not ready until past 1:30.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MM13 customer service at this hotel is superb
The hotel staff at aloft at SFO airport are excellent. They were so attentive to my needs during my stay and delivered a level of customer service that was topnotch. I would recommend this place as an affordable, alternative option to the downtown S.F. hotels. Convenience to the public transit system (Bart) is an advantage too if traveling to the city or other points in the Bay area.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Nanciab5153 Will not return
We did not enjoy our stay - there are no drawers for clothing or small items - and that was annoying - but my biggest complaint is that there is no parking for hotel guests - each night the lot is filled with "airport" parking and I was instructed to park in a neighboring lot...and the hotel charges $20 a night for the privilege. This hotel should pay more attention to guest comfort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by OMNIPRESENT Exemplary Staff, great accommodations
This Aloft is not what you would typically expect. I have been to a few Alofts, and this one has to be the most clean, hip, and fun! The property is amazing and I was impressed with the lobby, bar, and outdoor/indoor space.
The woman working at the bar leaves a lot to be desired - I believe she did not even speak english, despite working in America and she was not too accommodating to my girlfriend and I. At times it seemed that she was annoyed with us being there, at which point we just took our libations to our room.
Melody & Erin standout specifically as they were extremely knowledgeable of the property and extremely helpful in assisting me with my shuttles to and from the airport as well as my requests for later check-out. As an SPG Platinum member I expected nothing but the best & they succeeded in exceeding my expectation(s) - thank you ladies, and thank you staff at Aloft Millbrae for an exceptional stay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Magpie64 Nice hotel
I only stayed one night at Aloft and checked in late at that, so I did not use any of the amenities (bar, etc.). However, my room was nice. Two problems: 1. I couldn't get my blinds to lower, and 2. the music playing in the elevator and especially in the lobby is annoying.

This hotel is great for an in and out trip to SFO. Located just off the airport, the short and frequently running shuttle service makes it a great location. The hotel offers everything one would need during a hotel stay. The only challenge is if you are looking for dinner. But if you are looking for dinner you can walk across the walk way and eat at a starwood family hotel.

competent, friendly staff. for facilities, value for money not terrific. given numbers of hotels available, would probably try another place next time. not because I was unhappy, just nothing special for price paid. An airport hotel is what it is. V. few are destinations and u don't go there for much more than a good nights sleep, which is what I got here.

Rated 3 out of 5 by kit732 great hotel but crummy internet
Wonderful facilities, but it took 30 minutes in the lobby to print a boarding pass. The front desk staff finally concluded that a lot of people must be on the internet and that's why it isn't working. Not a good sign for business travelers! But if you don't need internet, the hotel is nice. Hint: memorize the location of the light switches before you turn them off......

Rated 3 out of 5 by timmymq Good hotel
The Aloft SFO is a good hotel, it would be great if the room air conditioner did not bang each time it turned on and off. It kept me up half the night before I turned it off and enjoyed a warm room. I informed the front desk and they say it's a issue others are also complaining about. Other than that, the hotel is clean and welcoming and has a great gym/pool area.

The staff at SFO is very nice; XYZ lounge, front desk, shuttle driver. The hotel is in need of a little work, but still in good shape. The guest room had a good bed. Fought with SPG to get my points back in my acct.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cameroons An Excellent Opening
An excellent stay at the aloft. The room was comfortable and quiet, offering a good nights rest. I enjoyed the lobby experience and gym several times during my stay.
One suggestion for improvement would be to include a stop on the shuttle to the Millbrae BART station. Its only a 10-12 minute walk but would be more comfortable with shuttle service.

I was very pleased with my experience here at the SFO site, it was much quieter than i expected. The room was generous and well appointed and very clean. The price for the area was a surprise, about the only negative thing was paying for parking but it is SFO area...I will stay here again the next time i come out to SF. Well Pleased Barry , PA.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MikeDS This is going to be a terrific SFO hotel when sorted
We stayed here as it was being completed - building stufff in the carpark - the room power was a mess and the raspberries in the fridge, from the last guest, a bit odd. But location and room size and the frre wifi and the regular free shuttle means I will be back. Shower was kind of weak as well - still all in all its my SFO overnight hotel,
