Rated 4 out of 5 by Great hotel at a convenient location - Modern spacious rooms, nice design, comfortable beds - Very close to Hwy 101, and <20 minutes to downtown SF - Free WiFi is a big plus - Adjoining rooms slightly noisy at night. Ask for non-adjoining rooms if you don't want to hear your neighbors. - Would be nice if parking was included in the room rate. - Limited food options on premise. August 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 Aloft is modern clean and convenient I love the location of the Aloft hotel. just two or three exits from SFO, near a 3 mile wetlands walking trail and close to the downtown Milbrae shops and restaurants. Also, the Safeway market is open 24-hours so you can always get some fruit and water even if you land after midnight. The hotel itself is extremely modern, clean and often features live musicians playing acoustic guitar. They just need to get a Ping Pong Table and then it will be the perfect place on earth They August 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Hotel policies are not customer friendly I am not happy with the way the hotel handled my reservation. I had booked a room with two queens and prepaid for it but when I arrived I was told that reserving and prepaying does not guarantee a room with two beds. Also there was no additional inflatable beds available. We were a party of four and it was suggested that we adjust in a room with a single king bed. I was told that the manager will talk to me the next day but he never did and the second staff person repeated the same thing about there being no guarantees. If this is the hotel policy then it is extremely customer unfriendly. I am sure the hotel wont consider refunds had I not shown up. The body language of the staff suggested that this probably a common occurrence. August 12, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by disgusting rooms The Aloft SFO has gone downhill and was very disappointing. The room had a horrible smoking and chemical oder. Apparently the management had been informed by the housekeeper that someone had smoked in the room. And then obviously they tried to cover the smoke smell with some hideous chemical spray. When we entered the room it was so bad we couldn't even breathe, and had to change rooms immediately. The housekeeper in the hallway apologized, but the management did nothing except give us a different room. We had been traveling all day, and did not appreciate the extra hassle of changing rooms, in addition to the horrible attempt to think we wouldn't notice??? July 19, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Experiencing the staff of the Aloft SFO When checking into the hotel after a number of stays this year I was surprised to be billed a parking fee. When asked why there was a parking fee there was a blank stare from the desk help. Timing was perfect as there was a manager behind her who would not look up or offer support to the repeated question from myself of why there was a surprised parking fee. After a few minutes, I asked and pointed at the man behind the counter and said is he the manager, and at this time he still ignored my request to speak with him. He finally offered a reason to why there was a fee..his answer was that all the other staff members must have made a mistake, and then he charged me. Sorry to say but not even close to appropriate management skills! August 8, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Hotel has great location but staff needs more training The hotel looks great, great location, clean comfortable rooms. However what would have been an excellent stay turned bad when cleaning staff threw away some of our clothes. These where not dirty tatter clothes, but expensive jeans and a buttoned up shirt. The evening manager kept putting blame back on us and offered us no recourse outside of additional hotel points. All we wanted was out clothes. He offered to have a complete search in the morning and offered to call us with the results. It's been three days and we still have not been called. This has never happened before and we will not go back due to the incompetence of the staff. December 11, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by there was POO in the swimming pool there was POO in the swimming pool. and the manager responding was horrible. he told me "I will let you go in Westin hotel swimming pool" it was 9 P.M and out side was 60 F degree. we were all wet already. August 11, 2014
