Rated 5 out of 5 by Morgan Rocks! Morgan does it all! If you call the front office, she'll be there. Checking in? She could be the one to check you in. Need a drink? She's probably serving drinks. Hungry for breakfast? Morgan could very well be the one to get you going for the day. She's a jack of all trades and does it all with a smile on her face. This property is new and like any new property has some growing pains. I think Morgan and her staff are doing an outstanding job of developing this new property into a great hotel. I was extremely happy when SPG opened a downtown location. Stay here if you want great service, and a short walk to everything downtown has to offer. November 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Mid-Century Modern Delight Wow! What a treat to stay in this new Aloft creation. If you love Aloft's you will love this hotel. If you don't love Aloft, this hotel will probably change your mind. The design of the hotel is different than the cookie cutter standard designs this chain normally cranks out. The rooms are very similar but they are located in a restored, renovated and repurposed midcentury (1969) skyscraper that was once the former city hall office tower. Rooms are big and light filled with the almost floor to ceiling windows that offer the best views of downtown Tulsa. The building is removed and set back from the main downtown core so the view is spectacular. The corner suites are the best with a 25'x12' main room of nothing but windows. Great modification of the standard Aloft room design to fit the original architecture. I have to admit, I wish they would have deviated and done something more custom and unique than the standard Aloft fair but it is still done very well. The Lobby is very open and airy and completely surrounded by tall glass walls that rest right on the plaza. The XYZ bar and GYM areas are located in an adjacent glass pavilion accessed via a glass hallway across the plaza and are very well done. Exterior areas are a little neglected and they should have put more design and financial effort into them. The old concrete plazas are just that. In some ways I tried to consider the minimal restrained treatment of these areas as cool, but I decided it was just cheap looking, like they ran out of money. A lot of missed opportunity there. The pool was very small and in typical Aloft fashion, fenced in by an ugly metal railing. To me they always look like the hotel pools are adjacent to some lawyer owned orphanage because of that fence. I wanted to swim but it was just too small and short to do anything in. This is a shame because the pool was newly constructed and to go to all that expense and construction effort to have a mediocre pool just seems odd, especially when they had acres of unused concrete plaza to play with. Parking is very odd and undefined. Finding the hotel entrance is REALLY hard to figure out as it is smack dab in the middle of a two story parking garage platform/plaza with one oneway entrance. Once you have reached the hotel and find your way inside all is good. The tower is a spectacular renovation, but I hope they continue to improve and repurpose the surrounding plaza and buildings. Adding some massive landscaping program and restoring all the old 1960's water features would transform the area. Note: The area is removed from anything of interest so driving is a must. You can walk, but it is a long walk to the entertainment and restaurant areas. There is not a better view or a more interesting hotel in the city as far as I am concerned, which is why I would pick this property over any other hotel no matter what the cost. If Aloft were to launch an upgraded division called Aloft Architect Series (or something like that) that specializes in unique properties and designs, this hotel would be one of the first ones I would put in that category. Rated 5 out of 5 by Honest and Helpful We recently stayed at the downtown Tulsa Aloft and we left a watch in our room. We discovered this after we had been on the road for several hours. We called the hotel and the staffed retrieved the watch and held it for friends from Tulsa to pick up. Great service! Nice rooms. Quiet. Convenient. Highly recommend. June 24, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by poor experience I stayed in a mini suite, their were childing running overhead all evening and alot of the the night . Sounds were almost unberable. when you come in the front lobby no one is ever there, you have to search to find what floor the desk is on. Most people stay their for there BOK concerts and close parking. When we drove in the parking now said $10.00 for guest for over night and $5.00 for day parking, This was after having my room booked for over 3 months and never being told about it. How do they think your going to stay at the motel whien you have to walk from who knows where to get your car. I would much rather that price be encluded to the price. Also you can't get enternet in alot of the hotel for your phone. The rooms other than the beds have the cheapest furniture and carpeting you can buy the old $1.00 stick down carpet and concrete walls. The beds are nice and the staff are nice, Food selection is awful and pricy. Make your own desicion on whether you chose to stay there, but I won't for $209.00 a night no parking encluded they can do better and there alot more to offer at other motels, at a cheaper rate. The phone operators some times give you the wrong Aloft for booking and your on the phone way to long to get it straitened out. The parking is in a very dark and dirty area. Rated 1 out of 5 by Total Disapointment Hard to find even with GPS and the signage is minimal. No restaurant had to eat at the bar and then the staff was too busy watching TV and even more worse was the so called food you serve microwave nuked food have cold and half hard as a rock and still charged for it ..... The toilet in the room didn't work and was clogged , i called the desk and said they didn't know about and would send some one and never did. I will most assuredly have my company remove your Hotel chain from our list. July 30, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Growing Pains With the property being opened about two months when I stayed, I expected to run into a few unfinished things. This hotel is an old city hall building so it is not your standard Aloft Hotel. The major con about this hotel is the parking and the problems it creates. Signs point you in the direction to the hotel and eventually leads you to covered parking which is under the lobby floor. It is not underground parking. Most of the spots are marked with "Permit Required," which by looking at the parked cars, most guests were avoiding those spots. After talking with the front desk, this is left over from the old building but is not enforced. The main concern of the parking is that it is wide open for anyone to use. The parking lot also has direct access to guest elevators where anyone (guest or not) can access any floor, bypassing the front desk. A key card is not necessary to access guest floors. This feature is not needed but the fact that an individual can access any floor, directly from outside,. completely unseen. should be of concern to ownership. It does appear that they are still working on completing a reception/lobby area on the parking level, but the hotel has done nothing to address this obvious security concern. Rooms are your standard Aloft room. Comfortable and efficient. The staff was friendly, I am confident that the owners will address the security issue once the hotel is 100% complete but I will not be staying at this property again until it is. June 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Staff We recently stayed at aLoft Downtown Tulsa while enjoying Rockin Rib-Fest at BOK Center. Reservations were booked a week in advance, but when checking into the hotel, we found that the reservations were set for a different location in Tulsa. Since we were attending a down town event, we needed to stay at the downtown location. Violet was VERY helpful in getting the reservations switched over to the correct location. The only issue at all was when people walk the halls, they sound as if they are in your room. Great Staff, unique hotel, could use some additional sound insulation. September 15, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by Tom Petty Weekend My girlfriend and I stayed at the Aloft Downtown after the Tom Petty concert on 9/28/2014. We arrived at the hotel and proceeded to the check-in desk. When it was our turn, we approached the desk, only to be told to hang on while the woman helping us answered the phone. When she hung up, she asked for my name and began the check-in process. I had booked our room with the breakfast package and was unclear how exactly it worked. Upon asking the woman taking my information, she gave us our vouchers and she said that she wasn't sure and I would have to ask in the morning. She handed us our room keys without telling us our room number and picked up the radio and turned around. My girlfriend and I made our way back to the limited parking area and found a spot. We gathered our belongings and headed up to the elevators. I looked at the paper holder our keys were in to see that we were in room 1016. We got to the room and were pleased.It was decent sized for a basic room and the large shower was a nice surprise. We got ready and decided to head to dinner. Being unfamiliar with the area, we went back to the desk and were asking about restaurants in the area. The woman working was the other woman at the desk when we checked in. She handed us a a map and when we were asking about what was nearby, she was unknowledgeable. We walked around downtown, went to the concert and went back to the hotel. The next morning, about 8:30am, I was awoken by what sounded to be a drill. My girlfriend was still sleeping so I just tried to ignore it. It continued all morning, until it woke her up about 10:15am I called the desk to ask what the noise was and they said they had no idea and would send maintenance up to check. I spoke with the maintenance man when I heard him out in the hall and he couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from either. My girlfriend and I got our things around and went to eat breakfast. When we got down to the re:fuel area, we were informed that they were out of breakfast and we would have to make our selections from the dry goods and things since they had run out of hot food. We made our choices from the limited choices that were left, even out of that stuff. When we checked out, the front desk woman told us that they were doing maintenance work in the owner's apartment that was above our room. No apology or anything. I was handed my folio and thanked, once. I won't be returning to this location. October 5, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dont let the Historic facade fool you This is a new Aloft Hotel built into the existing City Hall building. I feel this needs to be mentioned clearly on the site and in advertisement. I say this because it is extremely hard to find since you are looking for a traditional hotel. In addition it was surprising, but I actually like the kitschy retro feel to the place. The room I stayed in was a suite and extremely nice, very retro modern. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the only negative I can think of was already mentioned. And the negative isnt that its built into a Historic building, on the contrary, the negative is that this isnt advertised as a cool feature. Had I known this it would have made me want to stay here more, and of course I would have been able to find it easily. July 30, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great new hotel This hotel really stood out. Loved that they used an old building, which opened for different rooms and lay out – including some suites. We got a nice upgrade, and had a great time. The AC was new and quiet, which is quite rare these days. Only issue we had was a major party going on in a room across the hallway. People were coming and going all night, going OUT in the hallway to make phone calls. The hotel must have known about this and should ban huge parties being held in rooms. After all, some of us are there to rest and a have good night sleep. There was a fence at the parking area making it inconvenient to go from the hotel to downtown. Not sure what the purpose of that fence is? Oh - and please get rid of those horrible cheap and lumpy pillows. August 25, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Suggested Improvements 1. Being a downtown hotel right by all the government offices, many guests including myself, fly in from out of town on business. Flights out of Tulsa often depart between 6AM - 7AM. It would be helpful if the Aloft shuttle to the airport started earlier than its present start time of 8AM. 2. I realize this is a more casual hotel than other Starwood facilities, but the male night receptionist should be wearing something a bit more professional than an old T-shirt. May 27, 2014

The free shuttle was a nice plus and the driver even came back to the restaurant he dropped us as to deliver my tickets for a show that I had left in the room. Rated 1 out of 5 by hotel or dormitory? I am dumbfounded that this is a Starwood property and that anyone would actually pick to stay at a hotel like this on purpose. I feel like I'm walking into a college dorm upon arrival, looking for what seem like random temporary signs to get in to lobby upstairs. I unfortunately paid for my week in advance and am stuck here unless I can convince hotel to apply my money to another hotel in town - please please. I had no idea I was signing up for a room that is basically like your bed is part of the bathroom, the air conditioning is really loud, there is a guy doing laundry in shorts, no shirt, outside my room, no in room dining, so I could either eat the bar food (only option in hotel) or schlep out in rain to get my dinner. The place seems relatively clean but the whole environment is not good for anyone over the age of 23 years old who is traveling for anything other than attending a concert next door. May 12, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by girls weekend We arrived at noon on check in day. Ms. Violet at the front desk got us into our room by noon. The room was uber hip and the beds are amazing! Make sure you're staying with someone you are very comfortable with bc the bathrooms aren't very private, i.e. no locks and no vents! My best girlfriend and I had a fabulous stay. Staff super helpful and we loved Violet!! She's an asset. And we were less than a block from the BOK center where the UFC fights were that we attended. Loved ALOFT!! DEF. COMING BACK!! GO EAT FRESH,LOCAL, ORAGNIC MEXICAN FOOD AT Elote.... Its amazing. August 29, 2014

You charged both. Front desk clerk was clueless when asked about it. She was very poorly trained. Called hotel twice and was assured I'd get a call back on two separate days. No call yet May 15, 2014

The Staff was wonderful and Clay in the bar was amazing and really made are stay enjoyable. The room was beautiful and view was great. Having a shuttle van for guest made the night easier. Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice Stay - Aloft Tulsa Downtown Stay on points Friday night. Upgraded to nice 10th floor corner room overlooking BOK and East over historic part of city. Room had (2) queens and couch/table/chairs. Bed was very comfy. Staff very pleasant, frieandly and accomodating, night manager walking the floor welcoming and talking to people. Bar has local beers. Pool area is outdoors and nice, especially late in the day. Outdoor patio area has couches and tables. Indoor bar area has plenty of seating, bartenders were nice, talkative. Hotel is an easy 20 minute walk to Brady and Blue Dome. Short drive to Philbrook, Gilcrease, Brookside or Cherry Street. Use BOK Center for GPS. July 14, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Latch your door There seems to be housekeeping issues at this hotel. I would recommend using the safe, storing valuables in your vehicle and if your in your room to latch the door because even if you have a Sleeping hanger up, your door will be opened. May 30, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by extra mile. When we were checking in the clerck was making small talk and asked about our stay. I told him it was fiance's birthday which is two days before christmas. He found another suite for us that was on the top floor and it had great view. It was really nice of him to do and we really enjoyed our stay and view!! We will be back. December 26, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Downtown Option...Once the Kinks are Worked Out Keep in mind we arrived the second day after opening. A lot can be forgiven due to this fact. Highlights *Free parking (for a downtown hotel I was pleasantly surprised) *Everything is still new and clean and well maintained. *Exceptionally friendly and enthusiastic breakfast attendant. *Provided a bag of treats, tennis ball, bed, and water bowls for my dog. Low Points *Poor Check-in experience. Not unfriendly, just inexperience it seemed. (I suspect this was due to the newness of the hotel and the staff still finding their groove.) *Ordered a couple cocktails from the bar and was told bar wasn't stocked with enough yet to make the drinks. Beer was about the only option or neat liquor. *Breakfast was poorly stocked and not much listed on the menu was available for purchase yet. *Not particularly well located to restaurants or entertainment districts but well situated for business. Give it a little time and I am sure this hotel will be fully operational. I will certainly be back. August 6, 2013
