Rated 2 out of 5 by Robin Not impressed
Had rented 4 rooms for our family for the weekend. When we arrived, 2 were not ready and we waited until almost 6 pm to get into them.
1 room never received room service even after repeated calls (visits as the phone never worked) to the front desk.
Kept getting locked out of the laundry room.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Michael225 Housekeeping needs to step it up at these prices
When you stay away from home and spend a lot per diem you expect to get a clean room every night. My roon wasn't cleaned as good as most budget hotels.

Rated 2 out of 5 by dpal Come on, Aloft.
I stay at Aloft's throughout the country. Pretty excited to stay at this one in Cupertino since I have not stayed here before.
First off, booked about two weeks in advance - put in a request for suite upgrades using my certificates. Never went through - okay.
Second, somehow I was put into a double room bed. Called the front desk - unable to switch me to my preferred room (king or queen bed). Ugh, okay.
Third, the sink doesn't drain. Seriously? This hotel cannot be that old.
I'm here two nights - I guess I'll be passing this up next time I'm in the SJC area.

Rated 1 out of 5 by dsk9683 Worst than $30 a night motel experience
I'am a 100% loyal SPG customer and have been a platinum member for many years with over 100nights of hotel stay per year.
My team members' and my stay at the Aloft in Cupertino was simply the worst. I only stayed 3 nights because the hotels near Cupertino were sold out. I originally booked the hotel for 2 weeks but checked out after 3 days to move to another hotel.
Never again will I, my team members, or any of our vendors stay here.
Below are the reasons for this rating and review:
1. All three days, there was no water and towels in the gym.
2. The workers were not trained to service customers. When I approached the front desk, no response but carried on with their phone calls.
3. Room not being made. After arriving at the hotel late at night after a long day at the office, the room was not made. No clean towels available. Called down stairs but got a voice mail asking me to leave a message but kept repeating without allowing me to leave a message. When I went down stairs and complained, it turns out this is a regular practice here since my team members experienced the same. We were told we had to leave tip on the bed for the room to be cleaned/made. When I asked for the manager, he had no concern and asked me what I needed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cookd451 Decent hotel but lacking for families
This hotel is very modern and, overall, is decent enough for an individual stay. I would not recommend it for families. We needed connecting rooms to accommodate our children; the hotel was unable to provide this. Also, we needed one of our 2 rooms to have 2 beds; the hotel was unable to provide this. Our fallback position on bedding is the use of a roll-away; it has never failed us until we stayed at this hotel. The hotel was, apparently, out of their air matresses and my daughter had to sleep on the floor. This is completely unacceptable and we were offered nothing in return for this issue. As a SPG Gold member, I will avoid these hotels in the future even when on individual stays.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JoeJ ALoft Cupertino is A-mazing
Here for 3 weeks because of a family emergency. Everyone at the hotel from the Sales Manager, Front Desk , and Bar/Restaurant staff to Maintenance and Housekeeping has bent over backwards to make us feel at home.
Comfortable room, super fast free internet, Apple TV's and modern decor & amenities. I'm actually in the hotel business so I recognize and appreciate it when somebody gets it right. At any price this is a well done property; at the ALoft rates I'd say its great value.

Rated 2 out of 5 by drockjc Hotel operations is not up to par
New hotel still needs a lot of work on the operations side: housekeeping regularly arrives in the late afternoon and service is worse on the weekends. If you are out all day until the evening then no issue; but if you like to come home to a clean room then I would not recommend. Front desk staff is friendly and gym and bar are above average. SPG status is not really recognized here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ivy35 Extremely comfortable beds/bedding and overall accommodations
Perfect for short or extended stay. Bedding was so comfortable didn't want to get out of bed. Asked the staff about the the brand of pillows etc. Excellent bar and appetizers that can easily become a full meal. Staff is so helpful in recommending the perfect wine! Want to get out for dinner, about a five minute drive to Santana Row. All kinds of restaurants and boutique shops along with Macy's and other large Department Stores. Perfect Stay!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Hamab More like a club than a hotel.
First time at an Aloft hotel. Did not like the "perfumy" air freshener used in the common areas or the black light and loud music in the elevators. I will choose other Starwood brands in the future.
Hotel gave the water shutoff notice with wrong date on it - resulting with not having to be able to shower on the day of departure before my business appointment.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ahill916 Vacation turned into disappointment
Unfortunately, this was more than likely my first and last
stay at Aloft. Although the rooms were clean and aesthetically pleasing, I have twins who needed cribs upon our stay. My husband called ahead to secure the cribs and was told there was nothing they could for us until we checked in. Upon check in I requested the cribs and was told they would send the cribs up immediately. Two hours later, no cribs. .. I called the front desk and was told that they would call back. Half hour later the front desk called back to advise they didn't have any cribs and could not locate the ones they had but that they would check their empty rooms. they offered no other alternative and my husband was forced to resolve the issue. We had a room with only one king bed. We asked to be switched to a room with two double beds. Unfortunately we were moved above the bar, heard loud music all night and had to deal with two twins constantly falling off the bed all night. So overall, great room, minimal customer service, and lack of sleep. Seems more like a club atmosphere than a place to take your family-such a disappointment!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bill067 Nice Staff
The hotel elevators are way too slow. I would not stay here again as a result. We had to ask for new pillows on 3 occasions as the ones we had smelled offensively. My wife also disliked the fact that there are plain walls in our room with no pictures and that there is inadequate lighting in the room.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MartieW Ooops, staff fell short
The hotel was unique and had a fun modern feel to it. However....three times we requested one extra towel because the shower door leaked and the floor was getting very wet. We never did get the extra towel. We had a late check out on our departure day and we were locked out of our room when we went to get our bags to check out. The safe in the room also didn't work. Staff needs to follow through when they tell guest they will correct problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kate12345 Almost Satisfactory (5 Star) Visit
If not for several factors, our visit would have been satisfactory.
Upon arrival at the hotel, there was an event in the bar area (within 5 feet of the check in lobby desk) --- which made it impossible to have a conversation without yelling. This was irritating and immediately caused concern that the noise level would extend to all hotel rooms since the facility is only 4 stories high.
Fortunately, the very responsive manager on staff was accommodating and escorted me to the assigned room to confirm that the party would not be a disturbance to our sleep (we arrived at the hotel near 10:30 pm and intended to go to bed immediately due to plans in the early morning).
The assigned room was far enough away that the noise from the party was not present. I did notice, that rooms closer to that wing of the hotel could hear the loud music. (I do consider this a poor decision, to host such a loud event in an area of the hotel, that could not contain that level of noise. This hotel may just be too small to host parties and meet guests expectations.)
In addition, due to the party, the ENTIRE driveway in the front was blocked and there was no obvious alternative areas to park nor where there any staff posted at the entrance to provide assistance. I was directed to a parking lot across the street by a person attending the party. I had to walk in the cold from across the street to enter the premises and check in (and once I entered the front doors, was greeted with LOUD music from the party just 5 feet to the right side.
As soon as I checked into my room and placed my suit cases down, a FIRE in the building was announced and we had to vacate immediately. We found the staircase, exited the building and was told that it was a false alarm.
So, overall, the facility was clean and functional. But we did experience several disappointments and inconveniences during our stay. If not for the party and false alarm, I believed that our stay would have been satisfactory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jupco New hotel with great design and friendly staff
Being seasoned citizens the atmosphere had a youthful feel to it and revitalized our energy.
Everyone was friendly and helpful.
A lot of different design elements we have never seen in any other hotel. Very hip and modern.
A beautifully designed hotels with great design ideas in rooms. Teak dresser, closets with exterior sliding doors.
Door to bath with novel exterior sliding door. Vessel sink and walk-in shower.
Color changing LEDs in stainless bar top in lounge very clever.
Breakfast bar and grab and go snack bar open 24/7 unique.
Would stay there again and recommend to friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ben2012 New hotel, may have some growing pains
Brand new property in a great location. Right behind Apple, and within walking distance from shopping area and restaurants.
For guests who are driving, it is also very close to the main highways, and has free parking.
The rooms are as one would expect, except that room cleanliness needs some work. I imagine it may only be because of the initial growing pains:
- food was left in the refrigerator from a previous guest
- coffee cups in the room were not clean
- the basement lobby area smelled strongly of gas
Otherwise, this is a good value hotel in a desirable area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Berto82259 Just what we were looking for...
Overall the hotel was an awesome choice.I felt we got a great value for the hotel itself. Very new age with the decor and feel. The apple TV was a little limited but did the job while we were in the room. The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable and very spacious. The workers in the lobby were very friendly and greeted us every time we entered or exited the hotel. The pool was great to relax in and, when we went swimming, was not very busy. Overall, if I was back in the area, I would definitely consider this hotel again. The one issue we had was with the bartender in their bar. She was not very friendly and did not appear to be to busy to help us, but was a little uncaring and rude. But, we did not let that get to us.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BB2013 Theresa was a gem!
While I wish there was room service or that the food area was open longer, overall this was a great hotel. Clean, beautiful and stylish. But I would be remiss if I didn't thank Theresa at the front desk for her superior service. I have traveled more than I'd like for business, and the front desk staff can make or break your stay at times as they are the first point of contact. She was friendly, helpful, accommodating and had a wonderful personality. She remembered me each time I came down and greeted me, remembered why I was there (HS reunion) and asked specifically about my visit. Her friendly demeanor and outgoing personality stood out above all staff I encountered. She is the type of person I would love to hire to work for me! Thank you, Theresa!

Rated 5 out of 5 by GAM1014 AWESOME EXPERIENCE!
My first stay at the Aloft Cupertino and overall an A+ experience. Staff was pleasant, accommodating, exceptional, and very responsive. Room was clean and very nice..contemporary and simple, yet plenty of room and very functional. Equipped with all essential amenities. Bed was very comfortable. Room rates very reasonable. Proximity to lots of restaurants and retail stores is wonderful. Read reviews about slow elevators and that the room windows didn't open. Not an issue IMO. Aloft has won my business going forward!

Rated 2 out of 5 by SAL2 Poor Service, Lack of Amenities
Arrived at hotel at 11:15AM and asked to check in early. Person at front desk was not friendly and responded that check-in is at noon and we would have to pay an early check-in fee (for 45 minutes!). Also asked for areas for lunch and he stated that he didn't know the area (no concierge either). Supposedly upgraded room was very small and average. Fairly clean but few amenities. Located in bland commercial district. Do not recommend.

No deal breaker. Can be better.
The key things work well. Room is decent, lobby staffs are friendly and helpful.
However certain services can be done better.
- Cleaning: Dirty towels left behind room door. Seems that the cleaning staff has forgotten it.
- A/C: The A/C was set as 18C one of the day when I return. It felt like a freezer and it is not green in an energy stand point.
- Laundry: This frustrates me the most. Laundry bags are never refilled. I have to call for laundry pick up and remind lobby staff in order to get my laundry back.
- Toothbrush: Requested for toothbrush to be sent to my room but it didn't. I have to call again for follow up.
- Lift: Lifts are slow and certain buttons are not sensitive.
Looking forward to the improvement.

Nice, no nonsense hotel for business travellers, staff was very friendly. How it sets up takes a little getting used to but it is really a good set up for the business traveler. Zen style in the lobby, to a lesser extent in the rooms, but the room was very comfortable.

I visit Cupertino at least once a year, and I'm glad to see a Starwood property there. This is the second Aloft property I've visited, and it fits my Aloft expectations. I like the modern decor when I enter the lobby, and the front desk and bar staff are friendly. The room is modern and comfortable. I took a swim in the outdoor pool, and used the elliptical, barbells, and weight machines in the gym. I didn't have time to grab breakfast, but it looked clean and welcoming.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KateRN November weekend stay
We really liked the contemporary style of the hotel and rooms. Everything was clean . We had a shade pull that broke with normal use. We told the desk and it was fixed before our return. We could not open the closet door enough to get into the safe. They also fixed that quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful.
