Rated 5 out of 5 Most technologically advanced hotel I chose this hotel over other major well renowned hotels in the Bay Area, because of its technologically advanced approach. You can unlock the door of your room and the elevator with you smartphone. You have fast internet, free parking, apple tv in all the rooms. Plus they have this robot that acts like a hotel representative and can bring you stuff from the front desk directly to your room. Overall, this place is amazing! January 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing Staff! When your boss tells you that you need to live across the country for 5 months, you're not pleased. Long workdays, being away from home, and not knowing anyone for such a long time is rough. Being at the Aloft Cupertino, however, made that time as best as it could have been. Rooms: The rooms were nice and clean, and didn't feel like a regular hotel room because of the decor and style. The bathrooms have lovely showers, and there are dispensers for shampoo/conditioner and bath gel, which I liked better than the little bottles that most hotels give out. The beds are super comfortable, and they have Apple TVs in all of the rooms, which was really great. Pool: They have one. I used it once, and it was nice. Robot: Yes, they have a robot. Botlr. He's adorable. If you get (smaller) items delivered to your room, it's quite possible that they will send the robot to deliver them. It's cute and fast, and forgetting your toothbrush has never been so fun. Gym: I just used the treadmills, and they were nice. It was never crowded when I was there. Bar: Amazing. The food is really yummy, and I didn't get tired of the options even after 5 months. The wines were tasty, and the bar itself is fun-looking. They have a bunch of TVs as well. And the bar is the focal point of the hotel - they have happy hours, and events throughout the week. I happened to be there for a few of their bigger nights, and they had great music and DJs. I miss this bar, and I live in NYC. Staff: The staff here is by far, the most wonderful and delightful people that I have come across in my years of business travel. The front desk staff is great, especial Teresa - she helped me get great rooms, helped me get a better rate, and booked me a room at the last minute when the hotel was full and I had forgot to book my next stay. Everyone that I dealt with at the front desk was friendly, helpful, and real. I felt like I knew so many of them, and they were always available to chat. I managed to get to know the bar staff very well (side effect of living in a hotel), and I heart them all. Doug, the food and beverage director, is great at his job, kind, and is a great and hilarious presence to be around. It's very apparent that he cares about each and every of his employees, and that they all respect him as well. Jessica, Alicia, and Rob were also amazing bartenders - they knew my drink preferences and my name, and got to know me over time. They became friends by the end of my stay, and it was so great to get to know them. You should stay here :) January 8, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Front Desk Staff may need some Customer Service Training. As part of having platinum status, we have free continental breakfast for our stay. Front desk clerk charged us for bottled water since as she said "was not part of the free breakfast", we only took a pastry and bottled water. She also noted that the bottled orange juice was free but the water was not. We will never argue with a front desk clerk but that was a first for a starwood hotel. I'll pay for the water, no big deal. It was the manner of how the message was sent to us. September 23, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst than $30 a night motel experience I'am a 100% loyal SPG customer and have been a platinum member for many years with over 100nights of hotel stay per year. My team members' and my stay at the Aloft in Cupertino was simply the worst. I only stayed 3 nights because the hotels near Cupertino were sold out. I originally booked the hotel for 2 weeks but checked out after 3 days to move to another hotel. Never again will I, my team members, or any of our vendors stay here. Below are the reasons for this rating and review: 1. All three days, there was no water and towels in the gym. 2. The workers were not trained to service customers. When I approached the front desk, no response but carried on with their phone calls. 3. Room not being made. After arriving at the hotel late at night after a long day at the office, the room was not made. No clean towels available. Called down stairs but got a voice mail asking me to leave a message but kept repeating without allowing me to leave a message. When I went down stairs and complained, it turns out this is a regular practice here since my team members experienced the same. We were told we had to leave tip on the bed for the room to be cleaned/made. When I asked for the manager, he had no concern and asked me what I needed. March 15, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Complete disappointment I stayed at this aloft last weekend and it was a total disappointment. There was a string of hair in the shower. When I mentioned it to front desk, they acted as if it wasn't a big deal at all. I had signed up for green choice but I was hoping they would at least take care of the hair after I brought it up with front desk. Going back to my room in the evening it was clear the room was cleaned (of course I never received green choice points on my account) but this time, there was a string of hair attached to towel as I picked it up. Not to mention the towel was ripped. It was my worst hotel experience by far! May 17, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Should have stayed at the Hilton When checking into the hotel, the clerk was more interested in talking to the bartender than us. There was no mention of SPG status when checking in. I'm an SPG platinum member and have been for quite a while. We were not offered the Go Green option. We were offered the free breakfast but everything on the buffet was cold both days. When cleaning the room the maid took dirty glasses from the bathroom and did not replace them. They have a robot Butler that was continuously being worked on in plain view of the guests. Overall my worst SPG experience yet. December 24, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not impressed Had rented 4 rooms for our family for the weekend. When we arrived, 2 were not ready and we waited until almost 6 pm to get into them. 1 room never received room service even after repeated calls (visits as the phone never worked) to the front desk. Kept getting locked out of the laundry room. May 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Everything wonderful about the Aloft Cupertino The staff, service, and hotel room were and are exceptional. I have stayed at the Aloft Cupertino each month for the last 8 months for business and leisure. I have never been disappointed. Rachel Webb is fantastic as the front desk supervisor along with all the front desk staff. They contacted me immediately knowing that I had left an item behind in my room and quickly made arrangements to get the item back to me. Awesome! Room rates are very reasonable and I have never had a problem being able to reserve a room when I needed and they even have accommodated my need for early check in. What more can I say but A++++ !
