Rated 1 out of 5 by Chicago60660 Nice hotel; Needs better training of staff and infrastructure
Hotel does not track SPG point correctly - need to call customer service to correct their mistakes (which they openly acknowledged. Air conditioning did not work in room - not too pleasant in the heat of Orlando summer. In the past I had problems with my toilet not flushing and the maintenance team failed to repair it multiple times during my 4 night stay. Front desk manager promised my SPG points for my troubles - which never got recorded - had to go back and and speak with customer service. Front desk manager lied about how many points she promised me and tried to cut me short - when she went back to her records, she find the notes of the correct number of points and eventually granted them. I shouldn't ever have to deal with this. There are a lot of hotels to choose from in Orlando - and I'm afraid the Aloft is not one of the good ones.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ConcreteGorilla Spartan and sharp without a view.
This hotel was less than we expected. We usually stay with a major chain but my daughter thought it would be fun to try something a little newer and more "hip". This Aloft in downtown Orlando was pretty new so we went for it. Be advised there is no street parking. You must garage your vehicle for a fee that is additional to your reservation. The valet was no where to be found so we schlepped our luggage ourselves (up the stairs) and into the lobby. Check in was fine and the staff was receptive and helpful. The room itself was very clean and shiny, but it was also pretty sharp. Slab tables and stone floor entryway. No comfortable couch or overstuffed chairs to flop on after a long hot drive. We ended up sitting on the bed and kitchen style chairs to review the room service menu. Not much there so don't think you'll be having something lush or frozen sent up. The hours of service were short and inconvenient as well. We ended up ordering out and walking up the street to retrieve it ourselves. Definitely not what we wanted to do after 6 hours of driving. The only other thing that we want to mention is the view, or lack there of. We were on the 6th floor in King suite and when we drew back the drapes guess what we were presented with ? Banks of HUGE air conditioners (3 20 foot wide running turbines) and a parking lot full of wandering homeless people. Gigantic disappointment to be sure. Not certain who you have to be to get a front facing suite but trust me we won't be back to try again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ElizabethJ Staff friendly and anticipated needs
We had tickets to an event at the Amway Center that was cancelled. Our room was non-refundable, though. I brought my tween/teen sons with loose plans to go to SAK Improv theater that night instead. When we arrived, staff asked about our plans, and I filled them in on our circumstances. She surprised me by immediately upgrading us to a suite and offering alternative entertainment ideas and restaurant recommendations. With tall boys, the extra space made a big difference and we had a great time going to SAK and eating at the place she suggested. My only beef was with the hot beverage selection, but there is a Starbucks within easy walking distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Balrog Great stay
An hotel is made up of facilities and personnel. Your facilities met my expectations, which for your chain, are very high. Your check in representative exceeded my expectations. Your property was full. The room that had been set aside for me was unavailable. He asked if I would want another. When I asked to be away from elevators and ice and vending machines, he made a command decision and put me in a room that did not have my requested king bed but did have a lot of extra space compared with rooms I have stayed at your other properties. I was most pleased. Please thank him for me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by BCins Convenient downtown location
Nice, new and clean. I would personally like warmer water temps in the sink & shower, accompanied by more shower water pressure. Housekeeping missed my room for two days straight. Bar was very nice, and had a comfortable vibe to it. All in all it was a good stay and I would certainly go back.

Unique, fresh decor, not your usual hum-drum hotel. Small checkin counter, exposed "snack" bar. We love that the hotel is very "green". Being that I usually don't get to enjoy all that a hotel has to offer, i liked that there wasn't a lot of amenities. Bar opens at 4, open pool table, and outside seating was a welcome change. However, I think the parking should be included.
Elevator floor was fun! Squishy tiles with blue liquid :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by JessicaK12 Great ambiance and comfortable hotel
I stayed here on a business trip during the week and have found my new hotel to stay at whenever I'm in Orlando. This hotel was in a great location, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and grocery store. The hotel has a great ambiance along with comfortable rooms to stay in. The hotel staff made my stay AWESOME and made me feel like I was at home which is key for any business traveler.
