Rated 5 out of 5 by Two Weeks Aloft in Atlanta Good Evening, The Aloft is located in downtown Atlanta and within walking distance to many of it's popular attractions. The room accommodations are very well suited for business travelers. The Aloft hosts several events per week to allow you to relax after a full day of business stuff. The entire staff was very helpful and very friendly. They were always ready to assist with directions, recommendations for tourist activities, and restaurants based on your food interest of the day. I did initially have a minor problem with my room but once I brought to the attention of the front desk personnel, it was taken care of immediately. I would definitely recommend the Aloft Atlanta - Downtown for anyone wanted a relaxing atmosphere and well appointed accommodations and within walking distance to Centennial Olympic Park, World of Coca Cola, Children's Museum and the Georgia Aquarium. Rated 3 out of 5 by Average At first, they placed me in the room 813, right next to the elevator and it was pretty noisy. They agreed to move me to another room, which was a lot better. I'm not crazy about the guest room layout, it seems a bit smaller than others I've had. The TV seems a bit smaller too. May 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent stay for the price! Stayed only 3 weeks after opening. Wonderful staff, great accommodations and was very cost effective! Also, we had our fur-kid (Corgi) with us and they were most accommodating to him! Thank you for a fantastic time! May 5, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by The negatives.... The noise factor was very high. Was kept up each night bc of music and people talking and yelling outside my window and I was on the 4 th floor. Mgn did take my parking charge off but I was also charged 21.00 for something called xyz...no idea what that was. October 20, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Shakedown trials Like any new hotel (even remodels) there are bound to be glitches. The software for this hotel's functioning appears to be complex. 1. I had 2 reservations - one as SPG reward, one purchased. They could not link them together. Fortunately the staff worked long shifts and we had no problems (the site was not fully booked) 2. The wake up system resets when staff recheck their work. Despite setting the correct wake up time, a staff member, being diligent rechecked her work and accidentally reset the wake up to the 1 am time she was making her reassessment. Her apologies the next day were sincere and I certainly understood. 3. The wake up message was not programmed, just loud hissing. 4. After checking out, I turned in my key card and couldn't leave the parking lot because it is needed to exit without paying. I didn't think that one through but neither has the hotel. 5. The lighting is VERY dim. Hard to read or move in the room until the fluorescent bulbs warm up. Even then it's dark. I just cannot reiterate enough how friendly and helpful everyone was. The problems are all systems issues in a new location. I'm betting they'll be remedied quickly. I would still recommend this location. April 23, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Good location Stay was average but needs some improvements. I realize the hotel has only open for a few months but there was too much confusion with general questions which were asked. The location was great, the online and SPG rates were good for ATL area. Some of the negatives, even only being 3-4 months since being open - I was surprised to see stained carpet, confused staff (unable to print receipt, unclear on directions, lack of instructions on parking). When I was at front desk another guest stated his automatic window blinds fell off the wall and when I was in the public restroom, I noticed the construction of the stalls was in good shape - makes me wonder about the quality of the construction overall. Rated 2 out of 5 by Aloft concept a flop The hotel was trying for a category 4 hotel without the full services of a category 4. The loss of most of the common features at the same price point did not sit well. My ranking for the hotel would be a category 2 at category 4 prices. September 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent customer service I had to modify my reservation by adding an extra night last minute. They could not combine the reservations but the staff made sure we could keep the same room for both nights. We were offered free drinks at the bar and a room on a high floor with the city view, a very nice touch. Location is sensational if you are looking to visit downtown Atlanta and the Olympic park, just a 5 minutes walk away. October 1, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by This hotel was relaxing and fun. Our room was big and comfortable. Downstairs was a computer area, exercise room with a lot of different equipment. Up front was plenty seating area, pool table, music, and bar. The swimming pool was outside and had large area for sun bathing.The hotel was walking distance to restaurants, clubs and different attractions. Yes. I would recommend this hotel to my family, friends and co-workers. September 23, 2014

The staff were polite and very attentive to my needs. Love the location and all the events going on every night. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to staying again. September 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best value My husband and I only spent 1 evening at Aloft, and it was great. My husband had stayed at another Aloft in Chapel Hill NC and really liked it, so that is why we chose it again. The staff (Ron) was very helpful, and got us our key in a very short amount of time. Also the general manager greeted us, and presented us with a bottle of very cold and refreshing sparkling water, after a 7 hour drive it did the trick. I didn't rate the food because we didn't eat in the hotel. If we had more time we would have. It was very convenient to restaurants and local bars. July 17, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by An average stay Check in went great. The staff present when we arrived were friendly and attentive. Now check out was a little different. There was only one staff member at the desk. He was assisting another customer that apparently had an issue due to he took more than 15 minutes to assist that customer and he still was not done nor attempted to call for assistance prior to my saying forget it and leaving. Everything with my bill was fine but I did have a simple question to ask. I expected more from this hotel being that all the other Aloft hotels I have been to, have gone above and beyond. Rated 3 out of 5 by Aloft Atlanta Review Staff was very helpful and pleasant, facilities were mostly nice. Not a great room for a person of size, the bathroom was tight and the shower stall could use a seat or handrails. The bed pillows are horrendous - two each of foam and down. The down pillows were understuffed to the point of wrapping around one's face and almost smothering; the foam pillows were so springy they could not be shaped or made comfortable at all. The mattress was not not firm enough. The room had no place for luggage - the cupboard was too small to place a bag inside, and there was no luggage stand to use in the room. Housekeeping was a bit inconsistent in the amount of towels and fresh cups each day; 2-3, or none. Food ordered from the W xyz bar was frozen and microwaved. Yuck. There were a few homeless encounters in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, which the staff responded to immediately/ September 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not impressed I was in Atlanta on business and was very disappointed in my stay at Aloft. The overall look of the hotel was very neat, modern, and clean. However, considering that I was there on business, the internet was terrible. I ended up having to just use my data on my hotspot because I could not get it to connect or stay connected. The phone didn't work so I couldn't call down to the desk. When I needed something I had to call on my cell and the response I got was terrible. The housekeeping did not replace used coffee cups and lids. Sometimes there were stir sticks and sometimes not. So when I asked about that I was told that I could come get them from downstairs. We realized that we were short a cup after we were already ready for bed, so going down to the lobby was not convenient at all. I asked if they could possibly bring one up and he said no. The setup of the bathroom was not good if there is more than one person trying to get ready at a time. There was one staff person at the desk that was always very helpful and nice, I think that his name was Marquis. When I come back to Atlanta I will be staying at a different hotel. It was also just a little to far from where we were going to be able to walk, which isn't the hotel's fault, but definitely a factor in being less than convenient. September 21, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs help! This hotel needs a lot of help! When the patrons have to run to the store to get items then you really have a problem. The rooms and hotel we're clean and nice in appearance. Most of the staff tried there best to help , but many of them were running around not knowing what to do. I believe that there needs to be an intervention by the powers that be to get this hotel on track and fast! I would overall say that I should have a refund for my stay - I am sure I am not alone ! Please fix this property before it's too late! July 15, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Super staff Ok, this was my first time at this new property and I was very pleased. Great staff, great beds, very nice but small pool, good food, and did I mention great staff? I want to mention that Cristen who heads up the food service, seemed to always go above and beyond all requests. It is rare to have an employee of this caliber and someone with such a "can do" attitude. If I had a suggestion it would be that too much noise enters the room from the hallway and that the public computers are way too slow. Besides that, great job. May 5, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Aloft, downtown Atlanta - 3-night stay At my check-in, there was a heated discussion between a guest ahead of me attempting to check-in and the front desk staff. It got to the point where the guest stated, "I feel threatened," because the security guard was looking at him. I assume the guest was in the wrong, however, it made me very uncomfortable as this was my first impression of the hotel. Night 2 - I was in the lobby around dinner time and received a phone call. I stepped outside to be able to hear/talk, and a straggler/drunk/homeless woman kept walking around me in circles. She then started shouting at the front desk staff thru the windows/doors...yet another instance that made me feel uncofmortable/unsafe. She wasn't the only individual of this type near the hotel... All-in-all, my experience was poor. The room was humid/musty and smelled funny; imagine my shock when I found out the hotel was a mere 5-months old. I doubt I'll make it back to this one... Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice new hotel The rooms are nice but not enough counter space in bathrooms and a little strange not having drawers. Housekeeping staff was accommodating but there seems to be some learning curves. For example I was given fresh towels but the towels were brand new, they had never been washed. I would have preferred for them to have been washed. Some confusion when participating in their green program. Great location when working at the Americas Mart. July 17, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ordinary hotel Minimalist decor - concrete walls in the public baths. Rooms are modest in size, beds are rather good, but there is very little storage space, the shower is nice, but did not drain well. When a hotel is only a few months old, drainage problems suggest design problems. Had free breakfast as a Platinum member, but the quality of the offering and the variety was fair at best. Would stay here again but would prefer to stay in a more traditional hotel. July 7, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Kinks Not sure how long hotel open but feel they have a few kinks to work out or maybe a full hotel was too much to handle. Staff very nice just did not seem to have answers except we will look into it. Halls tooo dark..rooms need a brighter lamp or bulbs. Light in bathroom/ Shower area connected with outer room..not good for roommate trying to sleep. Need nightlight for toilet area. I have stayed at Aloft before and loved them. July 14, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good just not ready Stayed recently at this newly renovated property. While it is a very clean and attractive property, they are simply not ready to open. Staff is untrained and apathetic. Technology problems were the lack of a security phone/intercom on parking lot entrance and then my room electronic lock literally locked me out of my room for over an hour. I would recommend waiting a few weeks while they work the kinks out. Hopefully it will reach traditional Starwood standards by then. May 12, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Value My room was not properly cleaned, however I attribute this to the fact they had only been open a few weeks at the time of my stay. When I reported the issue to management, they were responsive and apologetic. I'm sure they will get the operational kinks worked out. I always enjoy staying at Aloft Hotels wherever I travel. It is clean and modern and always a good value. July 11, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Noisy hotel It was very loud with people slamming doors and kids running up and down hall. Tried to call front desk but phone in room didn't work. Lighting in the room was very odd...no significant light in the main part of the room. And closet was weird too...you had to hang clothes in front of each other instead of side-by-side. July 25, 2014
