Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst Experience EVER at Starwood hotel When I made the reservation, I informed the front desk that we were staying for our anniversary - our room was located right beside the elevator. There was NO insulation between the room and the elevator. All night long we could hear the dinging from the elevator as well as people talking waiting for the elevator as if they were in our room. Then we could not get the fan to stay on for the air conditioner to drown out the hallway noise - it kept turning on and off very loudly. The shower door slams as well as the bathroom doors....again disrupting people in the rooms. It was the worst night sleep ever, as we didn't get any. Went to get a latte from the machine - it was broken, told the guy at the customer service desk and he just told me he wouldn't charge me for the 1/4 filled latte and stared at the machine and said he didn't know. The facility looks nice, the room was nice - but we couldn't get an ounce of sleep. We have never complained about an SPG hotel in 15 years. Glad we only stayed one night because if it had been more we would have changed hotels. July 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Night Stay Just stayed for 1 night, but overall our experience was good. The hotel was clean and staff was pleasant. It was nice that they had the coffee available in the lobby. I would recommend this hotel to others. Not sure that we will be back in that area any time soon, but would consider using other Aloft locations. July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A pleasant surprise As we had never been to an Aloft hotel, we weren't sure what to expect. But we were thrilled with the style of the furnishings, the pool table in the lobby, and the friendliness and helpfulness of the front desk. We will definitely stay again! July 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy Family! We are a family of 6... with 4 children ages 1-6 and it was everything we needed. From the initial call to confirming accommodations, needs of crib and connecting rooms, all requests were executed and ready for our very late arrival of 11pm. The staff members at the desk were great! Each person I spoke with (can't remember names - I am sorry) they were helpful, curtious and most important, delievered on their promises. Because of this experience... Aloft will be the brand of choice for our family on future trips! Thank you!!! July 17, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by I AM AMAZED I must say I am amazed at the level of professionalism I received. My goal this past weekend was to simply getaway from my normal environment for a mini retreat. Upon arrival I was instantly greeted with grace and a warm welcome. During my entire stay I was treated like I welcomed guest. From the level of urgency centered my needs to the constant grace and smiles presented before me I must admit this is by far is one of the better hotels I have been too. Personally, I am a human resources executive team leader for Target. I am all about team morale and the development of employment relations. As an HR manager, I left inspired and appreciative due to the level of professionalism presented before me. In my estimation, first and last impressions can greatly impact the view of a guest in any manner. In regards to Aloft Hotels, the front end/desk relations holds that responsibility in their hands. If the guest experiences a ‘WOW’ moment entering/existing the hotel that guest no longer becomes just a inbound/outbound guest but one that creates a life-long relationship. I am officially bought in to Aloft Hotels located in Beachwood, OH! Thank you to the leadership team and other team members who work diligently to ensure guest like myself felt welcomed. I AM AMAZED! Rated 3 out of 5 by Different Arrived close to midnight and staff robotically asked for form of payment and drivers license. After a long trip I did not feel welcomed. The walk to the room was very long and there was no offer to help us with our bags. One bottle of complimentary water in the room to be shared with two people for a two night stay was ridiculous. We kept stubbing our toes on the refrigerator positioned under the bathroom sink. Bathroom area extremely small. Much water leaked out from shower door which slams shut very loudly. Ice machine room was very hot as compared to the hallway.Room was hot and air conditioning very loud clunking to wake me from a sound sleep when it stopped running. When I went to use the pool the water was very cloudy and had visible hair and the lights in that room never came on automatically as I never found a light switch. Free coffee tasted like grounds floating in hot water.Checking out there was a long line of people. July 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great East-Side Suburb Location Great location for the business traveler with quick highway access and numerous great nearby restaurants and shopping. Hotel is new which is nice. Some simple things are needed to protect the property and improve sound: 1. Rubber bumpers for the shower door and sliding closet door (failure to do this will cause the property damage to the drywall and doors). Being wood stick construction and not steel or concrete, means that noise can be an issue occasionally. I wish the windows could open so you could get fresh air. AC works well but there is no functionality to allow the fan to stay on if you wish to cool the room more and to have the benefit of the white noise. There was a slight unpleasant odor of a perfumed masking agent - perhaps to cover-up someone who previously smoked in the room (hotel though is smoke free but there are jerks out there who ignore these rules.) Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Couple Get Away From the moment we stepped into the lobby to the minute we checked out, everything was perfect. The style is classy, yet laid back. Piada is steps from the front door. Our room was beautiful, shower was amazing. We were completely happy with our romantic weekend. The bar tender downstairs, Alex, also phenomenal. Rated 3 out of 5 by Slamming Doors and Pounding Floors The hotel is nice, but the walls are paper thin, the doors slam, and it you can hear every footstep from the floor above. I had 4 rooms reserved, and every one of us had the same complaints. There were 2 wedding parties at the hotel, complete with drunk people slamming doors and running up and down the halls well past 3am. It sounded like there was an NBA game over my head all night. The room was nice, but I don't think I'll be staying at this property again. June 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice quiet hotel A lovely new hotel in Beachwood, OH that still has a few kinks to work out. The complimentary bottled water is a nice touch, if the maid remembers to put in in the room, which he/she didn't on our arrival. On the first morning there were insufficient packets to make real coffee and I had to traipse downstairs to ask the front desk for them. On the second morning we had two bottles of water, coffee packets and NO coffee cups. A call to the front desk brought a rapid delivery of them. Perhaps a housekeeping supervisor ought to check the rooms to assure they are correctly stocked. Other than that, the bed was wonderful! May 12, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hotel is newer This similar to other W ALoft hotels except it does have some upgraded suite rooms. The positives are it is a newer hotel, tv locations are excellent compared to the bed, room size are fine for the level of hotel is. There are pre-made food options in the lobby if you are in a pinch for food. Each floor but the first floor has an ice machine which is becoming less frequent at hotels. There are restaurants and a highway in the area. Downside is the air/fan goes and off and on throughout the day/night. It is near a busy road so sometimes you can hear road noise. There is only one washer and dryer and the prices are high to use compared to other hotels in the area and other hotels where I have used the washer and dryer.Other Aloft's provide two bottles of water in the room. Rated 4 out of 5 by Loved this hotel, one minor quirk I loved this hotel. It was my first time staying there and it was perfect. Location was great, decor was great, rooms were nice (loved the power supplies!!!) and beds were comfortable. I kept hearing this music beat at night though, and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. It was loud enough to annoy me but not loud enough to call the front desk and complain. I didn't realize until I checked out that my room was above the lobby area and it was the music that they pipe in. Next time, I'll request a room on the other side of the building or on the 3rd or 4th floor. May 22, 2014

Rated 2 out of 5 by A Bad Building and some poor room planning The main problem with this NEW hotel is that the building it is in has very little soundproofing. Every move the people made in the room above us was audible. I could tell from speaking with the staff that this was not the first time they had had problems like this. I was travelling with my mobility impaired mother, and we did not want to move rooms, so fortunately the very accommodating staff managed to get the people above us to move. The next problem was the air conditioning. The rooms have energy saving motion sensitive thermostats, which are not bad in and of themselves. However, the one air conditioner in the room directly faced one bed and when on only cooled that half of the room effectively. In order to cool the other part of the room, the person in the bed near the air conditioner was freezing. Therefore, when leaving the room I purposefully left the a/c on hoping to cool down the humid and uncomfortable room for when we returned. But the motion-activated thermostat thwarted that effort and we returned to a clammy warm room. All this said, the staff was very friendly and did what it could, but offering us a breakfast voucher, when we had already pre-paid breakfast, was not much consolation. June 23, 2014

The problem we had was that the lobby kept the music on during the night with no adjustment to the volume or Bass and we were kept awake with the music in our room being above the lobby. Tried our best, having been up for a graduation Baucalaurete Saturday and ceremony on Sunday, it really made Sunday a long day. There is no reason that the music need to be at the volume I found it to be when I finally went to lobby in Morning, desk clerk did not even think to turn it down for the rest of the residents still attempting to sleep. TURN DOWN THE MUSIC and THE BASS OFF AT NIGHT! It is not a Rock and Roll concert from 2:00 am - 8:00 am. I can say it made for a very long uncomfortable day at graduation and reception following.
