Rated 4 out of 5 by ORD1 Great stay for business in area. Not ideal for tourism.
Great stay for business in area. Not ideal for tourism.
Positive is that it is brand new, functional in a modular kind of way. Trendy, contemporary.
Staff is very friendly and efficient.
Lunch buffet was fantastic, 30% off for hotel guests during November, so Won 13,900.
Gold recognition to high floor, river view, welcome drink non-alcoholic, free wifi, late checkout 4pm.
Airport Limo Bus stops/pickups in front of hotel for 10,000 won (75 minutes)
Biggest negative is that hotel has thin walls, could hear neighbors, tv and water going down drains when people showered.
5 min walk to subway station, 15 min walk uphill to Coex Mall.

Brand new hotel and small but cozy room with nice river view. My only complaint would be the poor quality of staff responsiveness. When I first checked in, they were not able to locate my gold membership s so I needed to find the confirmation email from SPG by myself to prove the gold status. Also on the day of check-out, I requested late checkout at 1pm (hotel policy is 12pm) but the staff asked me to pay extra $. I informed her late check out is one of the benefits for gold member then she handled it as complimentary.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Robertevan1968 why?
I had a shcok of the hotel.
I don't want to know why, but I wish it not gonna happen again.
I had stay in the aloft seoul gangnam hotel with friend. She was in 10th floor. I was in next door.
I saw a man early in the morning. He got into a room which is checked out (it was my friend's room. she left 6 am for flight).
I thought he might be a cleaning person. He took a several time to stay in room. Then I heard the strange sound. He took a shower in that room.
I was thinking "Why? He took a shower? Who is that guy?"
I and my wife(Korean) saw that guy's face.
And my wife ask the front staff about the guy when we saw the man in front desk. The staff told me suprise thing.
I can not believe it. He was the GM.
Why he use the check out room? If my friend left something in the room, then he took it?
I try to understand the reason. But it was not cleaning.
I did not tell the story to my friend who was stay in that room.
I can not recommend to my friend the story.
Do not answer me anything. I will quit the SPG member. I never want to talk anyone from that hotel staff even GM.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TomK75 Good location, modern and clean with friendly staff.
I transferred to the Aloft after spending 2 days at a different Gangnam hotel due to work. The Aloft was half the price of the other hotel. While the room was a little smaller (25-30%), the Aloft's cleanliness, modern design and food were on par with the much more expensive lodging. Also, its location was significantly closer to the shopping areas of Gangnam as well as tourist attractions north of the river like Itaewon and the Imperial Palace.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Callyjaan It Wasn't the Fun Aloft I had Expected
I guess I was excited thinking about the pool parties I used to go in Abu Dhabi!
aloft Seoul was more like a business hotel than a boutique hotel to me. The hotel was very difficult to find since it looked like a regular office building but once I got in, I was welcomed by wonderful people and was able to forget about the troubles I had with the taxi driver ! The room was very clean and it was great that it didn't smell of 'new home.'
My overall stay was comforting and I will stay at aloft Seoul again!

Rated 3 out of 5 by pearl47 great location but too much noisy night time
newly established convinient and neat hotel with good location, however, too much noisy at night, it was really hard to get sleep. In case of city view, you have to refer to the fact

Since I visited the hotel on a whim, didn't expect much. Though, the view was quite good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ApolloMarz No Customer Service At All
I needed the password for the free Wi-Fi. So, I dialed "0" on the phone in the room. Nobody picked up the phone. I tried this twice in vain. So, I called the hotel on my cell phone, and finally got the password. On the following morning, I dialed "0" for another thing I needed help for. Again nobody picked up the phone. I called the hotel again on my cell phone. Yet, nobody picked up the phone. If you expect decent customer service, I will suggest you stay somewhere else worth what you have to pay for. There are a lot of hotels around, where you can expect much better customer service.
