is the Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader for The Luxury Collection® portfolio of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.
With more than 90 hotels and resorts in over 30 countries around the world, The Luxury Collection features some of the world’s most iconic hotels and resorts, including the historic Gritti Palace in Venice, Italy and the modern Marques de Riscal in Rioja, Spain, as well as new, intimate and indigenous hotels like the Suiran in Kyoto, Japan and Sunset KeyCottages in Key West, Florida.
This marks an instrumental year for The Luxury Collection globally, as the brand continues to debut marquee conversion hotels and invest in landmark renovations. With Harper at the helm, The Luxury Collection will celebrate the milestone of welcoming their 100th hotel by the end of 2015.
Harper’s new role with The Luxury Collection marks a return to the brand, as he was pivotal in the integration of Compagnia Italiana Grandi Alberghi (CIGA) into Starwood’s portfolio, which became the foundation for The Luxury Collection. As the brand continues to evolve, Harper will be instrumental in leading overall strategy and creative direction for The Luxury Collection, overseeing the development of marketing, guest experience, and partnership programs and providing support for strategic global development and portfolio growth.
Previously, Harper was the Global Brand Leader for Sheraton® hotels, resorts and residences, where he was responsible for strategic brand direction and leading Sheraton through its largest growth period. Harper has also served as Starwood’s Senior Vice President, Business Development & Marketing Programs, where he oversaw the team that developed and launched Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG®), Starwood’s award-winning loyalty program, including the creation of a co-branded credit card with American Express.
