Christie Hicks

Senior Vice President, Starwood Sales Organization

Christie Hicks is Senior Vice President, Starwood Sales Organization for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. In this role, Ms. Hicks sets Starwood’s business-to-business sales strategy and leads the company’s sales organization. She is a member of Starwood’s Senior Leadership Team.

Since joining Starwood in 1999, Ms. Hicks has led the sales organization through a period of rapid growth. Ms. Hicks has been responsible for evolving Starwood’s sales team and strategy to align with the company’s transformation from a U.S. company into a global business.

Ms. Hicks is a high energy leader who has built Starwood’s sales culture around strategic customer management. Her ability to balance business needs with customer needs has shaped how Starwood develops solutions across the B2B segment. Ms. Hicks spearheaded Starwood’s Meeting Innovation project which launched Starwood’s public telepresence suites and resulted in the new meeting chair design. She also heads up a number of key strategic work streams critical to Starwood’s overall business strategy.

With over 20 years experience, Ms. Hicks actively participates in industry affairs. She is the former Chairman of the Professional Convention Management Association Foundation (PCMA) Board of Trustees and served on the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Board of Directors. For her contribution to the industry Ms. Hicks was recognized with the 2005 PCMA Professional Achievement Award and the NYSAE 2006 Vision Award. In addition, she was named one of the 25 Most Influential Women in the Travel Industry by Forbes Magazine and named one of the top 25 People in the Hospitality Industry by Meetings and Conventions Magazine.

Prior to joining Starwood, Ms Hicks was Vice President, National Sales for Hyatt Hotels.

Ms. Hicks graduated from Tulane University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
