Senior Vice President, Brands & Shared Services
is Senior Vice President, Brands & Shared Services, for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. In this role, John combines his expertise in global operations and brand building to drive innovation and ensure Starwood’s 10 brands remain crisp in the eyes of guests, customers and developers. He also oversees food and beverage, revenue management and Starwood’s integration strategy for Design Hotels.
Most recently, Mr. Peyton served as Senior Vice President, Starwood Global Initiatives, where he led the implementation of key strategic company priorities around the world, including areas in food and beverage, supply chain and revenue management initiatives. During his 15-year tenure at Starwood, Mr. Peyton has held a number of senior operations and marketing positions, and in 2005, he oversaw a significant brand positioning project for Starwood, called Building World Class Brands – a defining moment in the company’s evolution as a brand powerhouse. In 2001, Mr. Peyton led Starwood in the launch of implementing Six Sigma practices into the business and became the first company in the hospitality industry to adopt this methodology as a way of improving business processes and driving innovative change.
Mr. Peyton joined Starwood after a 10-year career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in both their accounting and consulting practices. He holds an MBA in Accounting and Marketing from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
