Advancement of Female Talent: Initiative established to ensure gender balance at all levels of the organization
to better position the organization to meet and exceed the needs of our global female guests/ customers.
Global Diversity & Inclusion Training: Initiative established to equip all leaders with foundational knowledge
of how Starwood defines Diversity & Inclusion, its value to the organization, and now it can be leveraged as a skill set to further
drive business results within their teams, functions, regions, and divisions.
We Are Starwood Campaign: Initiative established to better position Starwood to attract diverse talent, suppliers,
owners, guests, and customers and to formally communicate company-wide Starwood strives to create an environment where
all can thrive and reach their greatest potential regardless of their differences.
United States Initiatives
Diverse Talent Recruitment: Initiative established to partner with colleges/universities,
executive search firms, and diverse sponsorship organizations to recruit US People of Color, Persons
with Disabilities, and LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) talent.
Minority Hotel Ownership: Initiative established to welcome and encourage all owner/ developer
communities to consider Starwood as their “Brand of Choice” as they select which hotel brand to franchise.
Supplier Diversity: Initiative established to welcome and encourage all supplier communities to
bid on supplier contracts to sell their product and/or services to Starwood.
Diverse Sponsorship Organization Partnerships: Initiative established to build strategic national
partnerships with diverse organizations who provide access to diverse: talent, suppliers, and owners/ developers.
Grassroots Associate Networks: Initiative established to empower associates to network and identify
opportunities for career advancement.
