Whether spa services are merely offered in-room, or via a proprietary outlet on site, these types of offerings are now more commonly expected of our hotels. The most common spa services include massages, facials and nail services (e.g. manicures and pedicures). Generally speaking, managers are multi-faceted individuals who either began their careers as licensed staff or worked as managers in other hospitality environments. Their primary objective is to manage and market the business, often working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) and the Hotel Operations Manager or GM. Assistant Spa Directors are usually responsible for personnel management and day-to-day operations, although this role varies at each property.
