Advance with Campus Recruitment Programs in the U.S.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.’s U.S. properties have created three distinct experiences for college students seeking career development in the field of hospitality. Through immersive externship, internship programs, and a management training program students strengthen their expertise and leadership skills while positioning themselves for ongoing opportunities with the industry’s global leader. We visit many partner schools; to see if we will be visiting your school, contact your careers services office for instructions.

Explore our Externship Program

Starwood introduced short-term externships as an innovative way to connect with and mentor students during their winter or spring breaks from school. Externs are immersed in the operation of a hotel department as well as its brand culture. Each is given project experience, the opportunity to expand his/her professional network and exposure to a concentration area that will aid in career planning after graduation.

Discover opportunity with our Internship Program

Our summer internship opportunities foster students' professional development and understanding of hotel operations and aid career planning for placement after graduation. We provide each summer intern with experiences comparable to entry-level, full-time professionals in the field of hospitality, including networking opportunities, and hands-on project experience. Participation in a 10 to 12-week summer internship increases the likelihood of placement in one of our hotels upon graduation.

Learn to lead through our Management Training Program

Our U.S. properties offer a management training program that introduces students to the fundamental skills they need to assume successful leadership roles. This program combines practical experience with professional development, mentoring and a rotation through operations and support departments. The length of training varies from six to 18 months depending on the discipline. At the completion of the training, each participant is placed into an assistant manager, manager or comparable position at the same hotel where they trained.
