ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Grand Hotel Central’s imposing, neoclassical 1920s façade was originally built by renowned architect Adolf Florensa in 1926 and drew inspiration from Chicago architecture of the period. The former office building was painstakingly renovated in 2005 by Oriol Tintoré to retain original features, such as the neoclassical stairway landings, tall ceilings, and narrow windows. The contemporary but timeless interior design was the work of Sandra Tarruella and Isabel López, who perfectly recreated the elegance of 1920s Barcelona.
