Located right at the water's edge, Hotel J is a short drive or sail away from Stockholm's city center. Inspired by the J-class yachts of America's Cup fame, the original 1912 brick building has been redone in a boathouse style reminiscent of the American seaside city of Newport using wooden boards, durable cotton textiles, and solid oak furnishings. Set among stately oaks and pines with an enchanting view over the marina, Hotel J charms thanks to clean lines and classic simplicity.
MADE BY ORIGINALS
It might come as a surprise, but many of Stockholm’s top restaurants, nightclubs, and hotels have an Italian flair. This is largely thanks to Alessandro Catenacci, owner and CEO of The Nobis Group. The Italian-born Catenacci has long been active in Scandinavia, bringing lots of personality to his projects, from top hotels to restaurants and nightclubs. His philosophy is to combine the best of both north and south: an Italian approach to fine food, a keen eye for quality, and the utmost in Scandinavian understatement.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
The original 1912 brick building of Hotel J has been redone in a houseboat style, and brings to mind the American seaside city of Newport. A stylish celebration of all things seafaring, the hotel was designed by the architects at Millimeter and designers at R.O.O.M. Equipped with its own pier, Hotel J is set among stately oaks and pines with a blissful view over the marina. The hotel’s 158 rooms boast clean lines, wood trimming, and luxurious linen.
