MADE BY ORIGINALS
Pedro Marques is a former Deloitte engineer, and decided to open Kenoa Exclusive Beach Spa & Resort in order to emulate the luxury of his family’s summerhouse. Although carrying no experience of the hospitality industry, Marques managed to realize the Kenoa resort thanks to his entrepreneurialism, his network of friends and family, and his passion for the region.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Architect Osvaldo Tenório used the exotic vegetation of the land as the foundation for the hotel’s concept, both physically and metaphorically. While the property’s visual identity is a calming concoction of polished wood and untouched natural materials, the structure is seemingly penetrated from floor to roof by reforested Eucalyptus trees—an impressive architectural feature. The interior also features naked brickwork, artifacts from Africa to the Amazon, and a constant interplay of textures, aromas, and South American influences.
