A family-run, minimalist retreat in the hilly, pre-Alpine landscape that surrounds Lake Como, C-Hotel & Spa has used locally sourced materials, such as limestone and teak, to create a timeless space for relaxation. All 18 suites are soundproofed and climate-controlled to create a soothing sense of isolation, and guests can expect to have their senses stimulated by vibrant art installations and the rich local coffees that are brewed in the lively Italian enoteca.
MADE BY ORIGINALS
After gaining a degree in economics and business management, Andrea Colzani turned to architecture and sustainable design, which lead him to create C-Hotel & Spa. He used the fundamental principles of green architecture to create a future-friendly hideaway that showcases cool, minimalist design peeking out from Lake Como’s Brianza hills.
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
The Lake Como area features an architectural landscape characterized by the use of “sea stone”—a polished, whitish rock. Putting the stone’s elegance and simplicity to good use, C-Hotel & Spa boasts a geometric and pared-back structure that boasts angular furnishings, smooth surfaces, and an overall minimalistic aesthetic as designed by Italy’s Mario Nanni. Chocolate-brown teak, white walls, and natural light create a blank-slate feel that augments the art exhibitions that frequent the hotel.
