I love the Element in Times Square and was expecting similar from this one.
The GPS could not find the hotel. I typed in the address that is on the Starwood Website and it took me to the middle of a highway. It's not easy to find at night. I arrived late in the evening and hard a hard time finding parking. The hotel was under-staffed and the person working the front desk seemed to be doing all of the jobs in the hotel.
I was given a note at checkin saying that no one could park in certain lots/spaces around the hotel because they weren't owned by the hotel and the property company was enforcing towing. The issue was, the person at the hotel couldn't tell me if I'd parked in a legal spot or not.
There was no SPG recognition. I went to my room and it was right next to the elevators. That wasn't a problem when I arrived as it was late at night, but early in the morning the noise was loud enough to wake me. Ask for a room away from the elevator if you stay. At about 8:45 am housekeeping tried to enter my room without even knocking. The door caught on the safety latch. I was shocked and caught off guard. I tried to call the front desk but the call wouldn't go through. I also tried calling zero a few times and couldn't get anyone. What if there had been an emergency.
I noticed in the morning, when it was light, that the blinds were stained and the wall in the bedroom was stained as well. The bathroom was clean however.
I got in the shower, packed up and headed out. At checkout I explained what happened with housekeeping and the phone situation. The front desk clerk apologized and said she'd credit me some points for the inconvenience. I told her that wasn't necessary, but that they should look into the phone issue in case of emergency.
This hotel didn't meet the standards that I would expect. I wouldn't stay here again because there are plenty of other options that are closer to the airport.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TX469903 Worst experience EVER!!!!!
This was NOT the way you'd ever imagine starting the weekend reuniting with family/friends after not seeing each other for quite some time. Management was very RUDE!!! Told us we were an inconvenience to the staff and hotel. We drove over 400mi. to get there was supposed to have strawberries and champagne in room, but had to go and get it ourselves. Had to change rooms 3 times!!! because the 1st room iron was broken, the shower door wouldn't close and the shower leaked water. There was also blood stains inside the shower on the floor. When we arrived I was asked for my credit card and because it had my husband's name on it they refused to accept it, but swiped it ANYWAY (which I later found that I was charged the price of the room after all we went through) then asked for another card since my husband wasn't present, so we used another guest's card in my party and she was charged the full amount of the room as well. Got to the room and when I called to speak to the Manager was told the other card was declined- which was a LIE. So we had to go back down stairs and at that point asked to speak to another manager. When the manager arrived she was rude- she was the one who stated we were an inconvenience- she was laughing at us and just totally nonchalant about they way the staff including herself was treating us. There were no bellman or luggage carts so we had to haul all our luggage ourselves ALL 3 TIMES we moved rooms because of cleanliness and size. Room was VERY far from elevator considering all the things we had no help with carrying. Hotel manager made excuses for them swiping a card BEFORE verifying the identity of the user and card matched- a little backwards right??! We had reservations for an activity elsewhere, but had to cancel because of the UNNECESSARILY difficult, and extremely TIME consuming CHECK-IN process.

Rated 4 out of 5 by traveller57texas My airport overnight at Element DFW
I booked this hotel mainly because it was inexpensive, as I was only spending the night before a long-haul flight. Really pleasantly surprised. Very tasteful and modern, clean, a small but usable pool, large rooms with a couch/sitting area and a KITCHEN! With all plates, utensils etc, and elegantly designed. Great selection of channels on the TV, including MY favorite: "BBC America", usually hard to find. A full breakfast in the morning, (though I think it should go to 10:30, instead of 10:00), and though the hotel has no restaurant or bar, it has a little shop that sells frozen foods and sundries, including alcohol. You won't get a gourmet dinner here, or room-service, nor a bathrobe and slippers, but aside from these, it is a terrific, little hotel. The staff were as friendly and helpful as could be, and the bed was honestly the most comfortable I have EVER slept in. Not exaggerating. The pillows and linens too - so soft and fluffy, and no weird detergent, room freshener, fabric softener or other smells. Just clean. I didn't want to leave. I honestly had the thought of canceling my trip and just going back to sleep. On top of this, there are little lights hidden in the ceiling/top of the wall, that you don't even notice, 'til you turn off the lights. They create an incredibly peaceful, lovely and serene atmosphere, absolutely PERFECT for sleeping. Divine. The shower is also nice, with a rain-water option or hand-held nozzle. I only have a few gripes. One, the tiny white wine I bought at their little store, tasted like moonshine with yellow coloring. (Just get better wine). The windows don't open 9but then most airport hotel windows don't open, and more and more NON-airport hotel windows don't open. Just saying though. And my worst peeve, is those horrible, "energy saving" light bulbs, that give you headaches, give off weird, horrible, uninviting light, and have been proven to not only be unhealthy, but actually BAD for the environment, as they are very difficult and time consuming, to dispose of properly, if at all. Finally, the van service picked me up quickly and will also take guests to locations within 5 miles of the hotel. Both of the drivers I had were also very friendly. Staff should be told, however, to specify E8, not just E, lower level, when directing guests where to wait. i wandered a lot, with heavy bags, had to call several times, and the driver was also looking for ME. But all in all, I give this hotel a solid 4. It's only not a five because it's not a five star hotel. Very good. Oh, I also hated the dishwater coffee, both at breakfast, and in the rooms, but maybe that's what most people like?
