Rated 1 out of 5 by Would have called the cops if I wasn't on a leisure trip Stayed here for 2 nights and was expecting a fairly average to good experience and attentive staff, especially when coming to NYC outside the peak times. However, a major incident occurred on the first day of checking in. Checked in, got to our room, and we found the toilet not flushing. Called guest services to come take a look at it while we were gone for the night. Came back from our first night of enjoying the city and when we got to our room, our door was left open.... We made sure the door was locked when we left so it definitely had to be the staff who came up to attend to our toilet. Worse yet, the toilet wasn't even fixed. We frantically searched our room to see if there was anything missing. Thank god we used the in-room safe. So this was a major unacceptable issue we were furious about so we immediately called the front desk and let them know of it. However, the bigger problem was the responsiveness of the staff. They simply acknowledged the problem and stated that they would look into it. Come the second day, nothing. I then let the front desk know in person of the issue. Person says the same thing, that they will look into it. Nothing after that and so on our third day checking out we let them know again. Now they say they will look into it and send an email about it. I hope they do because this could have been a reportable criminal offense had I decided to take further action. It's very unfortunate because otherwise, this would have been a very satisfactory stay at this place. January 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Practical Amenities Speedy, friendly and informative check in by a receptionist who should be hired to train employees throughout the SPG brand in how to get guests to their rooms quickly while also giving an overview of the hotel's amenities. The lobby was smallish but thought had been put into how to divide it up for maximum usefulness. I was upgraded to a studio (don't get too excited...this IS NYC and it was a super small studio). The room came with a full kitchen (even dishwasher) although in a room this size, I wonder how many people eat their meals in. Still, for those on a budget, it might come in very handy. Free happy hour snacks and free breakfast were also included, making this a very practical choice for budget minded travelers. As long as you keep your expectations low, you'll be OK with the breakfast. All in all I was pleased that this property offered practical and useful amenities rather than trying to present an idea of luxury without delivering anything of substance. Some picky notes...why keep linens in the hallway all day and night and why have a full kitchen in a room with no table (only a desk) on which to eat? January 15, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not Happy I did not get an upgraded room. Typically, I do with my SPG status. Front Desk was not friendly. Free breakfast was terrible. One elevator was not working which made taking the two remaining elevators a joke. The wait time was ridiculous. Because of this experience I cancelled 3 separate up-coming reservations with this hotel and booked with a different SPG property. January 12, 2015

I sent few suggestion to the hotel management to improving the breakfast. I hope next time I will find an amazing “healthy” breakfast. January 5, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by I love Hotel's heavenly bed and eco friendly style I was promised to have a studio room but given a deluxe room . Was I angry ? Nope Maybe I did disappoint a bit but Hotel staff was so kind , responsive and helpful . If I complain of the larger room I would be a moran. The Hotel is very eco friendly .There is no disposable plastic stuff in the room . The room itself very compacted . There is no extra or wasted space at all . And the Heavenly bed was simply awe . The bed is perfect hardness and softness at the same time . I could sleep whole days in there . If I paid the hotel to buy good night sleep it was good buys ! The only thing I want to have that room was HG TV channel . There is nice size of led TV and dvd player but there are not many channels . If I could watch HG TV on the Heavenly bed I would live in there . January 3, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good stay just long wait when checking in Great location, good quality for the money. Convenient to walk to Time Square and other landmarks nearby. Spacious room. AC was a bit noisy but very effective. So we just made the room warm enough and turned it off before sleep. Bed was very comfortable. View from high floor is great with partial Empire State Building view. Only downside was the long wait at checking in. The room wasn't ready when I got there first time, and I was told to come back at 3. However, I didn't really get the room until 4:30-5 pm I think. I understand this might be due to some guest had late check-out and I got a free upgrade as a gold member. Overall it's a great stay, staff were very friendly and location and room quality are quite satisfying. December 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Weekend in New York Thia was a special weekend for us in New York. Doing the town and seeing Motown the Musical. This was also our first time at an Element Hotel. It won't be our last. Everything about it was first class. We tend to expect a lot from hotels and resorts that we stay in (as Starwood Owners of over 13 years). Besides the hotel, the staff was concerned about our comfort. We were especially impress with Lola, the Food and Beverage Manager. She went all out to help us have a great time. She gave us all kinds of information on places to eat, the quality of food, places to avoid, best ways to reach places. What a treasure she is. December 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by CI TORNEREI SICURAMENTE! Excellent hotel services, from breakfast, happy hour, the kettle in the room and tea, coffee and choccolate available h 24. The hall has a pc with info on the best attractions, there is a person assigned to information tourist and reservations without charge. The terrace enjoys a wonderful view, great location, great shower in this bathroom, comfortable mattresses and fully functional wi-fi and heatingi. The hotel, as well as a gym also has an ATM, I would say very comfortable. In the morning there is a bit 'to wait for the elevator and the breakfast is very chaotic, but is included and with a decent selection, also beautiful Christmas decorations, cleaning is sufficient, not great but acceptable and comfortable bedrooms , equipped kitchen, although not luxurious and aesthetically nothing that, but not bad. Rated 4 out of 5 by Service is the Key The hotel is in a great location, the bed is heavenly along with a mini kitchen that has all the things you could think of…just awesome. The experience of our check-in was heightened by the service of Charisma, she made us feel welcomed and made sure that we were satisfied with the accommodations. The first first room we checked into had a couple of issues that needed to be resolved, with out skipping a beat Charisma found us another room in a matter of seconds that was perfect. I must say that Charisma and the rest of the staff were very professional while making us feel right at home. The only issue we had with the hotel were the elevators…if you are going to the wonderful breakfast in the morning, give yourself about a extra 15-20 minutes if you are on a high floor. The elevators are crowded and due to weight restrictions the elevator may pass your floor up. December 27, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by NY Getaway I would give this hotel a 6 start if it were possible! One of the best i've stayed at in long time. Courteous staff, easy check-in, clean, spacious and comfortable room. Fantastic and plentiful breakfast selection, hot and cold choices, and we were pleasantly surprised when we found out that we had Happy Hour courtesy of the hotel! Wine, beer and snack such as mini-pizzas, nachos, nuts etc! Can't tell you enough how much we truly enjoyed this hotel! Thanks so much for making this an awesome stay : ) December 19, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Good value, clean and comfortable room The room reminded me of hotel rooms in Europe...small and well designed. The refrigerator was nice to have. The bathroom is very nice. The room was clean. The breakfast was good although they ran out of one of the breakfast sandwiches and never replenished it. The coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the lobby was welcoming as I was there during cold rain. There was no Starwood elite recognition whatsoever. I don't have grandiose expectations and don't expect upgrades but I do expect to be given one of the better rooms of the class that I booked. This was not the case as I was next to the elevator in a smaller room on a lower floor. The elevators, well, if you're reading this you read the others so don't expect much. I never waited more than 10 min. Great value for the price for a clean comfortable room and no bed bugs. December 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Useless doors, pointless elevators I can't begin to say how disappointed I am with this hotel. The doors are made out of metal, which you think would be sound resistant, but it is the exact opposite. You hear every person in the hallway (and my room is in the corner) and every door slam is louder than a car next to you in a parking lot - which is especially amazing when 2 kids decided to keep hiding back and forth in each other's rooms at 730am. But the real kicker are the elevators. The first day it took 10 mins for one to come that wasn't filled, but today 4 just passed me without stopping - after 10 mins - I had to walk down 19 flights of stairs so I could make sure I didn't miss my appointment. Totally unacceptable for a real hotel - especially for a category 5 Starwood one. When I told the front desk their attitude was pretty nonchalant about it all. How can you have a hotel where you can't get downstairs in a normal manner?!? I've been platinum for years but I can assure you I won't earn another night of credit at this hotel. December 7, 2014

The rooms are great, the amenities - free breakfast, complimentary wine and beer -- are exceptional and the staff is very nice. My room is clean and very well-appointed with a fridge, microwave and stovetop, even. But if you need to leave the hotel in the morning between 7:30 am and 9:30 am, you need to allow at least 20 minutes for getting to the lobby. Staying on a lower floor won't help - the elevators fill up and pass you by. December 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Our stay in New York City We arrived on Thanksgiving Day and were immediately greeted by the staff with "Happy Thanksgiving". Our check-in was fast and efficient, and we were presented with a map of the Macy's parade as soon as we asked. Ivory explained to us how the parade route worked. We could not check in until 3;00, but we were still invited to enjoy the continental breakfast in the lobby. Our bags were kept secure at the hotel while we attended the parade. Our room was spotless. In addition, we had a full kitchen. The television was mounted on the wall and had a great picture. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. They ordered a ride for us back to the airport, and the vehicle was clean, and the driver was waiting when we got outside. We will stay there again. December 3, 2014

From walking in and having Elizabeth greet us and take care of our room and check-in to all the staff in the halls, in the elevators, at breakfast, etc. Room was very comfortable...the only thing I'd say there is that it was too warm and we couldn't turn the heat off. Otherwise it was great! Elevators are slow but didn't seem to be a big problem for us with our hours. Great location. We will absolutely stay there again next time we are in NY. December 3, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable, amenities, good location We had a very pleasant stay during a busy holiday weekend. The staff was friendly, smiled, and worked hard to replensish all the goodies. A big shout out to Miss Lynn Woods, day manager, for her greetings, inquiries about our stay and her friendly smile. All staff were great. Big plus was the complimentary breakfast, coffee, and evening drinks and snacks. Big help for my family with a hungry little boy. Generous and abundant, I was thankful for all of it. Rated 3 out of 5 by Surprise wake up call at 6:30 am on a weekend....ugh I received a surprise wake up call at 6:30 am on a Saturday morning that I did not request I mentioned this to the front desk staff when checking out that afternoon and suggested that they change their procedure and require both a room number and guest name when setting up wake up call (!). I was promised SGP points to be deposited in my acct, but they still have not done so. I have since contacted them and the front desk manager never returned my call. Pretty disappointing for a Starwood property. December 1, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Price is unbeatable I stayed with my wife at this hotel in September . It was my first time visiting New York. The staff were nice and helpful. Even during breakfast I asked for none bacon sandwich and the nice lady in charge took care of us. Even she made sure the next day we would find something with no bacon. They have happy hour during the week. Again the room is clean and cozy. November 30, 2014
