Get out and explore the sites, like the nearby 300-hectare Dayan Mountain Scenic Spot. Facing the Xijiang River, visitors can trek along the hilly, picturesque terrain in the park amid mature trees and vegetation in order to view more than 10 scenic spots. Along the way, you’ll find ridges and peaks, strange stones, a cave, winding brooks, temples and pavilions, and the nine-storey octagonal Era Tower. At the top of the mountain, the view overlooking six neighbouring cities is quite a spectacular sight.
Visit quaint Heshan’s Gulao Water Country to see the village’s century-old residential buildings offering a take on Chinese rural life. Other notable local sites in Heshan include Beihu Lake, Nanshan Hill, the Heshan Art Pavilion, and the Ruins of Gulao Pier on the Xijiang River.
