Also known as Dehej and Dehejbara, Dahej is a small town situated on the southwest coast of the Indian state of Gujarat. The Four Points by Sheraton Dahej is strategically located on the Dahej-Bharuch state highway, providing easy access to both the port of Dahej as well as Bharuch’s city centre. Surat Airport (STV) and Vadodara Airport (BDQ) are each approximately an hour’s drive from the hotel.
Stroll around the port to view the enormous ships, and sample local cuisine including vegetarian thali, ghari, and other indigenous treats. Or explore Bharuch, starting with a visit to the Bhrigu Rishi Temple, located on the banks of the Narmada River. Wander around and view the old temples at Dashashwamedh Ghat. More history can be found at the city’s nearly 1,000-year-old fort. August and September visitors should not miss Bharuch’s unique 25-day Meghraja festival. The city is world famous for its roasted salty peanuts. Bharuch is also known for its textiles, which can be purchased at the Katopore Bazaar.
Immerse in nature at the Shoolpaneshwar Wildlife Sanctuary in the Narmada district. The park is home to hundreds of flowering plant species, bamboo, and many animals, including sloth bears, leopards, barking deer, pangolins, monkeys, and birds. Explore the ancient Buddhist caves at Kadia Dungar, or head to Kabirvad, an island famous for its hundreds of banyan trees, including one of the world’s oldest and largest.
