A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the picturesque Wunü Mountain National Park is home to the remains of an ancient Goguryeo capital city. Home to many ancient caves and mountainside inscriptions, the Taoist Jiuding Tiecha Mountain is also popular.
Stroll around town to view some of Benxi’s local handicrafts, including Liao inkstone and butterfly paintings. Savor such indigenous cuisine as roasted mutton chops, boiled fish, and sour rice noodles. Benxi is also famous for its ginseng.
