Situated at the northern foot of the Dabie Mountains in the Dabieshan region, Lu’an is a prefecture-level city in the western part of China’s Anhui Province and one of four cities in the Hefei Economic Circle. The Four Points by Sheraton Lu’an is conveniently located at the intersection of Caizihe Road and Songliaoyan Road in Yu’an District. Hefei Xinqiao International Airport (HFE) is just 65 kilometers from the hotel, and Hefei can be reached by train in 45 minutes.
Step out to see some of Luan’s historic residential homes, tombs, ancient battlefields, and other cultural sites. Lu’an is also a famous revolutionary base area and the cradle of the Red Army. More history can be found at the well-preserved Song dynasty city wall in Shouxian County.
Lu’an has many beautiful landscapes. Take a day excursion to the Tiantangzhai National Forest Park. In addition to its stone villages, old fortresses, numerous animal species, and abundant plant life, this scenic area is home to more than 100 waterfalls, including the Plunging Waterfall and Dragoon Pool. Dabie Mountain Geological Park and Wanfo Mountain Nanyueshan Mountain are two other well-known scenic areas worth visiting. More nature can be found at Thousand Buddha Lake, Anfeng Lake, and Shuimen Lake.
For a taste of the arts, attend a traditional performance of local folk songs and rhymes. Delight in some of Lu’an’s local specialties, including its famous Wanxi green tea, Dajiujia pastries, and whitebait. Lu’an is also known for its lovely lacquer handicrafts.
