Established in the late 1800s, Whitefield is an integral part of Bengaluru, located in the state of Karnataka. Situated just 15 kilometres northeast of Bengaluru’s city centre, Whitefield is the hub of India’s IT industry. The Four Points by Sheraton Bengaluru, Whitefield is conveniently located on Whitefield Main Road, just steps from commercial offices and retail shops. Our hotel is also well connected via the Outer Ring Road that bypasses the city; Bengaluru International Airport (BLR) is just an hour’s drive away.
Step out and explore the Silicon Valley of India. Among Bengaluru’s most engaging landmarks is Cubbon Park. Dating back to 1864 and filled with plants, buildings, and statues, this historic park is a tranquil setting. Nearby, Vidhana Soudha is the seat of Karnataka’s Legislative Assembly. Originally made of mud, the Bangalore Fort was built in the 16th century by the city’s founder, Kempe Gowda.
For a taste of history, visit Gandhi Bhavan, a comprehensive gallery on Mahatma Gandhi. Tipu’s Palace, a medieval-looking wooden structure, features five ornate arches and minarets, and its walls and ceilings are decorated with bright paintings. Nature lovers will enjoy strolling through the botanical gardens at Lalbagh Gardens. Built in the 16th century to worship the sacred bull Nandi, Bull Temple is also worth visiting.
Whitefield’s International Tech Park Ltd. (ITPL), the first high-tech park of its kind in India, has many retail and recreational facilities. Retail culture abounds here, as seen in the futuristic shopping centres like the Forum Value Mall. Other historical and cultural sites in Whitefield include St. Joseph’s Convent, its oldest school; the picturesque Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Stations of the Cross statue, both of which are set upon a hill; and the ashram Brindavan, once the summer home of the revered religious leader Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
