Hotel Redevelopment Project until June 2016
Please note that there is an ongoing redevelopment project from July 2014 to June 2016. Changes will include 222 additional guest rooms, 4,800 square metres of new conference facilities, and new food and drink options. Construction noise is expected during this time, but we are working with our developers to ensure there are minimal disruptions.
The following changes have taken place:
- The main entrance of the hotel has been relocated 50 metres farther north from the main driveway to the Heritage Building on 161 Sussex Street. Reception and concierge services have been relocated to this new entrance.
- Taxi and car drop-off is in front of the new entrance on Sussex Street.
- The Corn Exchange Restaurant has been relocated next to our Heritage Building, near the new reception and lobby areas on the ground floor.
- The onsite 24-hour Fitness Centre has closed. During this time, guests have access to a nearby fitness centre (on Market Street) that is a three-minute walk from the hotel.
Although this renovation will reduce the lobby footprint during 2015, we will continue to offer high levels of service to our guests. Please contact the hotel for further information.
Hotel Closure: March 29, 2015
On March 29, 2015, the hotel must be vacant for a power supply shutdown. During this time, the hotel’s guestrooms, restaurants and facilities will be unavailable from checkout (11am) on March 29th through check-in (3pm) March 30th. Due to this closure, requests for late checkout on March 29th, for early check-in on March 30th, and for luggage storage during this time cannot be accommodated. Please contact the hotel for further information.
Alcoholic beverage service is restricted to those 18 years or older with valid identification.
Check Cashing Policy
The hotel does not offer check cashing services.

Connecting rooms are available. Please contact the hotel directly to make these arrangements.
Credit Card Policy
A 1.5 percent fee applies to all transactions settled by credit card, including food and drink transactions. This fee will be added to the total of the transaction when settling the bill.
Early Departure Policy
Guests staying at fully flexible rates will not be charged an early departure fee only if they provide at least 24 hours’ notice of their new departure date.
Early Arrival Policy
Early arrival is subject to availability prior to 3pm and is not guaranteed. Guests wishing to guarantee an early arrival must book the night prior to their arrival date at the full nightly rate.
Extra Bedding Policy
One sofa bed or rollaway bed is available in the Premium Deluxe Harbour View Rooms, Premium Maritime Suites and the Darling Harbour Suites for an additional 75 AUD fee per night.
Gift Certificate Policy
To purchase or redeem a gift certificate, please contact the hotel during business hours, Monday - Friday.
For security purposes, valid photo identification is required at check-in. Acceptable forms include a driver’s license, passport, and/or proof of age card.
Late Checkout Policy
A fee will be imposed on guests who check out past the provided checkout time.
- From 12 to 2pm there is a fee of AUD$50
- From 2pm to 4pm there is a fee of AUD$100
- From 4pm to 6pm the fee will be half the room rate
Thereafter, a full day will be charged. Subject to availability.
Parties are not allowed in the guest rooms. To plan a function, please contact the sales department.
A maximum of two adults and one baby cot are allowed in a Premium City Side Room or a Premium Harbour View Room. A maximum of three adults and one baby cot are allowed in a Premium Deluxe Harbour View Room or a suite.
Pets are not allowed. Only service animals are allowed. No other pets are permitted.
Guests paying in cash will be asked to pay full accommodation rates plus 200 AUD bond per day for incidentals. The unused portion of the bond will be refunded at checkout. Credit card payments will be fully pre-authorised until departure for accommodations, plus 100 AUD per night for incidentals.
All guest rooms and public spaces are 100% non-smoking. A 300 AUD cleaning fee will be charged to any guest who violates the smoking policy.
