Rated 3 out of 5 by Waiting staff needs improvement On the first night I arrived, I went to have dinner in the restaurant at the lobby (corn exchange, if not mistaken). I ordered from the a la carte menu and the food took over half an hour to arrive. I had to ask a couple of times before the food was delivered. When the food was arrived, the staff didn't even apologise for the wait. I also booked for a king bed room and received a 2 single bed room. At the check-out, I used the express check-out facility and got overcharged for breakfast (breakfast is meant to be included in the rate). There are 2 points I want to make on this incident: 1. The draft bill was delivered to my room the night prior to my check-out and it was correct, however, in the actual bill (post checkout), 2 breakfast items were added 2. I then called to rectify the matter and asked if a new invoice can be issued. I checked on the credit card that the issue has indeed been rectified, however, until the time of my writing this comment, I have not yet received the revised invoice June 22, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Refurbished rooms very nice Pro: Centrally located, very nice king room that was refurbished Con: Did Express checkout (won't be doing this again) and had a breakfast charge automatically billed to me for which I did not consume. Still not resolved 3 x days later, after I contacted hotel immediately to query the charge. June 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Unpleasant Check-in experience I had the worst check-in experience in this hotel because of the check-in staff cant make proper decision when issuing rooms to their guest. I am a GOLD class spg member and I cant accept the way I was treated during my check-in. Everything went wrong on the day I checked in. First I checked in and then they upgraded me to a suite, but then immediately they asked me to come down to the reception to change my room to another room, but the new room was not yet available. So I had to wait another 1.30 hrs to get my new room. I hope in future the hotel reception staff learn from their mistakes and not to upset their guest because of their own internal issues. Rated 5 out of 5 by Comfortable, warm & attentive service. Almost all good. I will happily re-book & return here. Only issue was the TV in the room (#613) had seen better days, picture clarity dreadful, sound like it was coming through a couple of pillows. Needs replacing. Rated 1 out of 5 by Credit Card Authorisation Unreasonble Delay I was annoyed to find that the hotel had maintained a large credit card authorisation for a number of days after my stay, despite my account being paid in full. I contacted the hotel but they were very dismissive of the issue and just said it was normal practice, and that all hotels do it. I regularly stay in hotels and this delay has not been my experience with other hotel chains. June 11, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Good hotel - Concierge not so much Great views, nice rooms, overall great hotel. My one complaint was the concierge (or the restuarant he recommended). I asked for some good seafood within walking distance of the hotel that was not overly formal. So, I decided to take him up on his recommendation to go to Fish at the Rocks (I think), after a 20 min walk through downtown Sydney, I was turned down because I did not have a reservation (although there were only 2 tables taken). 1 person at 6pm. Rated 5 out of 5 by 15th Flooor your 15th floor where we spent the 1st night with noisy air conditioning units above and water running thru pipes confirmed by your engineer next morning we then changed to 8th floor on Darling Harbour side which were 2 rooms interconecting and were very good June 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Perfect Location Such a wonderful spot to stay for a weekend away in the city. Close to the CBD & Darling Harbour it's the ideal spot. Breakfast was pretty ordinary & the service was slow. Coffee was cold. But overall really enjoyed our stay June 11, 2014

I stay at this hotel often as a platinum SPG member but this time the room was at a lower level on the south end and extremely noisy. Broken sleep is not ideal for a long and busy business trip.
