The AC didn't work right. We like a temp of 65 and set the thermostat low but it never got below 71. We told someone on the first day, she said another visitor said the same thing and they would look into it. When we were leaving we mentioned it to someone else who didn't seem to know anything about it. Other than the temperature, we booked a room for 3 but only got towels & rags for 2 and only 1 bottled water.

A good overall stay with location making it walkable to many landmarks and attractions. Beds were comfortable but quite small for 2 people to share. Nice bathroom with shower stall only. Parking across street was expensive. Restaurant was over priced for breakfast and service could have been better. May stay there again in future.

This turned out to be a big disappointment. When we arrived we found out we couldn't get the room until after 3pm so we ended up getting into costume in the restroom. Although the staff was good about working around it it made for a miserable time. We also needed to park and right accross from the hotel is a lot that said for Sheraton guests. We pulled in there and the attendant found a spot for us to park which was nice but them charged us $64.00 for two days parking. This was outrageous especially since we were hotel guests! Then we found out that we had to pay for each extra person at book in. So I paid for 4 people as we were sharing the room. But the room only has 2 twin beds and no place to for a roll away even if they offered one but they didn't even have extra beds! But yet charged us more per person! We also went to eat at the hotel restaurant and bar. OMG! We waited over an hour for our food and then it was horrible and for the over pricing of this and to be bad and also take so long to get the food there is no way I would ever eat there again. Oh did I mention the beer was FLAT! I would not recommend anyone stay here the only perk was it was so close to the convention hall.

All was going well when we checked into the hotel but when we went up to our room & open the door there was obviously someone already staying in the room so they had given away our room when they are supposed to guarantee a room when we reserve. When we go back down to the desk we're told that there are no more rooms left in the hotel with double beds & the only room left had one king size bed. Front desk personnel said they would send up as many blankets & pillows as possible to at least make us comfortable as someone would have to sleep on the floor. They did not. We got two sheet covers & two pillows & that is it & that was only after I called down to remind the staff. I also had to ask for extra towels. When I called down the staff had a bit of attitude about it too. I will never stay at this hotel ever again.

The hotel was close to the convention center and reasonably clean.
The staff were pleasant but were also disorganized- no room was available when I arrived at 2 PM, the desk clerk took my number and stated she would call when room available- I was never called but was able to get a room when I returned at 4 PM.
The restaurant was OK but not to central Philly standards.
There was a line of 6 to checkout when I came down the next am and only 1 clerk knew what she was doing to check out guests.
I asked for a cab at checkout and one was never called -or did not arrive in the 10 minutes I waited after request-despite 2 reminders- I ended up walking 2 blocks away to taxi stand...

Hotel was convienent to the convention center. After we checked in the hotel messed up our reservation and asked us to move out in the middle of our stay. two different men did not knock and opeded the door while my wife was sleeping to see if we were in the room. I was told to prove I had a reservation or pack. After I produced a conformation number and complaind to the manager I got a $50 reduction on the final bill. No pool or gift shop but it is in Chinatown...

We spent the day at the Philadelphia flower show and this hotel was very convenient, just across the street from the Convention center. The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. It was nice to have a bar in the hotel and we ate a reasonably priced breakfast there as well.

Hotel was very close to convention center but the beds were sagging in the middle and offered little back support. As a spine patient this made my stay here very uncomfortable!

I had 2 room changes before I landed in my 3rd and final room. The other rooms had stains and hair on the beds, the curtains would not open, views of a run-down parking lot, and dried soda splatter on the wall. Housekeeping needs to be retrained. They lack consistency and attention to detail. Some days I was missing hand towels and other days I would not be given a wash cloth. The hotel states that they provide you with bottled water but they never set one in my room (but I saw them in the first 2 rooms that I refused to stay in). The furniture is a bit beat up and the place could use a renovation.

We booked this reservation through hotwire - a one-night stay in a king room - because we brought our daughter back after spending Christmas with us. We had a "heater" unit in the wall that was making such a loud clanking sound that we could not sleep. We called (11:15 pm) to see what could be done. We were told no one could fix it at that time of night, so they could move us. Room keys were sent and when we (a couple) arrived to our "new" accommodations, we found two twin beds...one of which still had the bedding from the guests before us (the "change sheets" tag was still on it). When we called the desk, they told us it was all that was available. We went back and forth between rooms, as they told us that they had "fixed" the noisy unit. No, they had not. We ended up finally choosing quieter room at almost 2:00 am, sleeping two in a single (twin-sized) bed. This is unacceptable. When we asked if, since we were willing to take the smaller and less expensive room (which is not what we paid for) if we could get a part of what we paid back, we were told that since we booked through Hotwire, they could not help us. However, the hotel was quick to take our credit card when we checked in and put a four-day hold on an additional $75.00 - despite the fact that we booked through Hotwire. Bottom line - NO ATTEMPT was made to accommodate/pacify an obviously unhappy and dissatisfied guest. Then, as if that were not bad enough, we were charged $24.00 for valet parking two blocks away and were given no other options.This was not a detail provided on the hotwire information either. Finally, the shower faucet was wound so tightly that we could barely turn it (in the King-sized room). Apparently, this facility is in need of a better maintenance program. This was, by far, the WORST hotel stay ever!

I spend 100+ nights a year away from home and I can absolutely say I have never stayed anywhere where everyone I met associated with this property were as pleasant and helpful. Even the cleaning staff spoke every time and were asking if I needed anything. I have found a new place to stay in Philadelphia!!

The hotel upon arrival was not clean the sidewalk going into the hotel had liter everywhere. the staff was nice walking in but when i had a problem with the room they hardly cared. i went down to the restaurant my first night it was horrible. the food was not worth the money. my server was miserable and i had a problem with my food and i was told the manager at the restaurant was cooking. thats pretty bad when the manager is cooking and its not even good. i would not recommend to anyone

Stay 7/27/12 to 7/29/12. Not greeted in a friendly or welcoming manner. Called housekeeping for extra towels which were not received. After our first night, we had no housekeeping services; no beds made, no trash emptied, and no clean towels. We returned to our room later in the evening at which time it was too late to call for housekeeping. I also called for my car from the valet and had to wait over one hour just to retrieve something that was left in it! Lastly, upon checkout, I was not greeted pleasantly at all, not asked how I enjoyed my stay or if I was pleased with my accommodations. This was not my first stay at this hotel, but may well be my last.

This hotel was chosen for its proximity to the convention center and though it is close to many of Philly's attractions, it isn't in the best of neighborhoods. The lobby was small and the Cherry Lounge (hotel eating establishment) was less than appealing. The apples that were set out in bowls throughout the hotel were not fresh. I expected better services and accomidations from a starwood hotel and they are defineitely lacking.

My main concern with staying here was that the A/C unit was unbearably laud!
I checked-in in the early evening, went out for dinner and got back to my room late in the evening. By the time I realized that the A/C was going to be so laud, it was already late and I was too tired to consider switching rooms. Anyone who enters this room to clean it or to maintenance the A/C could clearly hear how laud this machine is and do something about it.
I was forced to turn off the unit all together in order to try and get some sleep. 5 hours later the fire alarm goes off so needless to say I did not get any rest during my stay and had a very important meeting that morning.

The staff was very friendly and when there were problems they responded with care and concern. The first day I left the room at 7:00 am and returned at 5:00 pm and the room was not made up. When I called they came and made the bed and cleaned the bathroom etc. in less than 10 minutes after I called but I have never had this happen in any hotel before this. At Breakfast, they were understaffed and I had to go to the front desk to get someone to serve me. The bedroom was cramped with not enough room to fully open the closet door and the closet space was very small.

This hotel and their valet parking services are horrible. When entering our room, the sink was clogged. They did not have enough staff to clean the room after the sinkw as unclogged by a staff member. They assured that if i called 25 minutes in advance that my car would be available from the valet. It took over an hour to get my car each time and I was late to business meetings.

Called to get directions to hotel because we were lost driving around the city and the service desk put us on hold for over 5 minutes before I decided to just hang up. Upon arriving hotel was not at all was expecting. Entering our floor and room it felt like a sauna. It was 89 degrees in our room! The staff was really not helpful, they made it seem like it was our problem to deal with. We decided to go to dinner to escape the heat and what they said would only take 20 minutes to get the car ended up taking an hour. Cleanliness of the room was below my standards as well. We will never stay here or recommend it to anyone.

Don't stay here! I was told three different amounts upon check in for the hold they were going to put on my card. When I asked for a manager after the third time, I was told there was no manager on duty and she had to try to call somebody. How are you running a professional establishment with no manager on duty? The restaurant had one person waiting tables, cleaning tables, and servicing the bar. It was so filthy that he had to clean a table just so we could sit down. If that's not enough, upon check out, they charged us for an extra night and placed a $840 hold on my credit card for a $474 room. When I asked for a manager again, there was still no manager on duty. My entire three day stay, I couldn't speak to a manager because there wasn't one physically in the building! I was told that they messed up the bill, but they couldn't do anything about the hold because it takes 7 days for it to be released. Unacceptable! My organization host a conference of over 3,000 people every two years in Philadelphia. I have placed this hotel on our listserve as a "do not stay" hotel. No one from the hotel has tried to make this right or owned up to their mistakes. I will NEVER stay here again, and I have encouraged others to do the same.

The AC was so loud and in my face
at the head side of the bed that it was almost impossible to sleep.
The room was small but I don't care about it as long as I get good sleep.
Otherwise everything else was ok.

This hotel has a really great location, it is right by the convention center, Chinatown, and Reading Terminal Market. It is also within walking distance of Philadelphia's main districts and attractions.
The hotel and room were very comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very nice and clean. I was in a standard king room, and there was very minimal space to store clothing. I was only staying for three nights, so this was not an issue, but it would be if I was there for a longer period of time.
While the room was very clean when I first arrived, the room had not been cleaned when I got back from my first day out in Philadelphia. I notified the front desk at about 4:30, at which point they said someone would be up to clean the room. I then left and got back right before midnight to an unclean room. I notified the front desk again the next morning and the person said that my room would be cleaned that day, but did not seem surprised or offer an apology.
Overall, I had a comfortable stay and would recommend the hotel for some people. I would not recommend the hotel for anyone who is looking for luxury or consistency.

My husband & I have reservation from Dec 18 to Dec 20 however on our 2nd day stayed, we decided to extend one more day to Dec 21, 2011 because we enjoyed our at this hotel. Day 1 when we arrived at the hotel - we were greeted by a very smiling/friendly front desk person at the reception - Mr Dave. Dave is very nice and certainly very helpful and always got a smile which made our check-in very easy and quick after we driven 2.5hrs. When we get up to room on the 6floors (we do prefers higher floor...Wow! the corridor were cleaned and of course when we stepped in our King room - the modern decor in the room and bathroom. We were very impressed. On our 2nd day, we realized that the housekeeping forgotten to replenish the bath amenities (no hand/face & bath towels in the bathroom) and I called down to the reception and Dave answered the phone and I told him about the bath amenities. Dave politely apologize about the amenities and he said that he will have the housekeeping sent up the bath amenities to our room immediately. Within 5 minutes, the housekeeping (with a smile) sent up all the bath amenities. We were very pleased with their services, thanks to Dave. Great location just 5 minutes walked to Chinatown, places of interests, shopping, market places. We will definitely come back to stay at this hotel for our next trip as we do travel to Phil very frequently on leisure and during those days we stayed in other hotels at Market Street and Arch street. This is our 1st time staying in this hotel but it wont be our last. We do enjoyed our stays at this modern decor hotel.

On the plus side, the staff - especially the front desk folks - was really wonderful. The hotel itself was a big letdown down though, especially considering the price. The bed was absolutely awful to sleep on, the room was clean but very dated, and hotel facilities were basically non-existent. Even one of the two elevators was less than reliable. The place needs a major renovation and upgrade, again especially in light of their rates. Would not recommend nor stay there again.

The staff was very nice, but the room I stayed was horrible. It had very VERY poor soundproof and I could hear the bell from the elevator, cell phones, foot steps, and alarm clock bells from the next room as if they were in my room. I understand my room was one of those that were connected to the other room, but still it had the worst soundproof that I ever experienced in any hotels that I stayed (including hotels that are much cheapter than this hotel). In addition, the sheets of one bed were not obviously replaced. I saw lots of hair, wrinkles that only could be made if somebody slept on them. Previous guest's laundry request paper was not replaced. The bathroom was a bit too white. The red baskets looked cheap..
Otherwise, this hotel is located in a convenient neighborhood and close to the convention center.

I was greeted by great staffs when I first came through the door, but once I got to my room, I saw many imperfections in this hotel. I was able to find the channel guide in my room so I called the front about 3 times and once speak to the staff in person but they were unable to provide me with a channel guide at all. I ended up asking for the number of the channel I wanted just to find out that my room does not get that channel. When I asked about this, the answer I got was that the staff are not sure what's going on and that they cannot help me with it.
Also, when I tried to turn on the lights next to my bed, only the right side lamp worked and the left lamp did not.
I thought the room had a refrigerator, but turned out it did not so the ice cream I got earlier that day ended up melting.
I wish the staff was more helpful and the room more accommodating.

I have been a SPG member, Preferred, Gold, Corporate, (depending on the year)since about 1998. I was in Philadelphia to visit a terminally ill relative and requested an extended checkout til 4 so I could spend the last day before Christmas that I could with her. The request was denied. I've never, NEVER before had a request for an extended checkout denied... guess I'll stay elsewere when I am back here in May.

Nothing went well from the moment I walked into this hotel. For some reason they did not accept the credit card. This would be the same one that I have used at numerous Sheratons, the Waldorf, Westin, W, as well as competitors
The staff was just rude. They did not listen to a guest. Instead, they knew everything, and the guests knew nothing. I noticed this with every guest who came into the hotel. Some were down right shocked.
There was also a sticky bedside table when, on the second try, I received the room I had asked and paid for.
The hotel was in a questionable neighborhood at best. I refused to eat at the hotel restaurant, so at 6:30 am, I headed for Broad Street in hopes of a coffee shop. There was not one. My choice was McDonald's or 7-11. What IS close to the hotel is a large hospital. I had a delicious and healthy breakfast in a hospital cafeteria. Kind of the ending of an awful stay.
Finally, while 4-Points by Sheraton is more of a budget hotel, it does have the Sheraton name. Clearly the staff at the "Downtown Philadelphia" (which it isn't) either isn't aware of the Sheraton brand, or their expectations are considerably lower than mine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Client25 This hotel is poorly designed
Althougfh staff at front desk and restaurant were excellent, there were two big problems:
1. The shower is designed so that water can only be turned by entering the shower. However, the initial flow of water is cold. Shower should be designed so tthat one does not have to stand under water for it to be turned on. I shoudl add that the knob for turning on the shower is far form the door and so even if one reached in, they still get sprayed with cold water.
2. Faucet in sink was designed so that water is hot only when flow is turn to high. At the point when water becomes warm, the pressure is so high that water splashes outside of sink when hands are put under the water.
It is hard to understand why anyone designed the shower and bathroom sink this way.
